Should I play these games

>Atelier
Try Rorona. They're pretty good RPGs. The other ones aren't very different, so you'll know by the end of the first if you want another or not.
>FF13
No.
>>
This thread has been made before...if you have these games and consider them interesting then go play them.
>>
>>738859208
yeah they're fun except totori, that game is incredibly bad but people here pretend to like it because muh loli even though totori isn't a loli.
FF13 is also fun but people here pretend it isn't because muh linear even though old FFs were also linear for at least half the game

I like how they look the protagonists but I have ADHD so I only play competitive games mostly not story games
>>

I see. If that's true it goes without saying that those games offer a very different experience, I haven't played then but anyone can say that they are very different games.

>Atelier Rorona, Atelier Totori, Atelier Meruru
Yes. Note that it isn't quite a standard JRPG. Your ultimate goal is really collecting materials to compose specific formulas and complete goals each week. So the games are a bit different with how you'll play them. If you like that idea (or play Rorona and end up liking it) then you'll enjoy the rest. I'll note that Atelier drops this eventually for a standard JRPG type of game, so don't just assume that every Atelier game plays the same.

>Final Fantasy 13 trilogy
No. They're very basic JRPG with very, very linear paths. Some people were rough on FFX for this, but FFXIII are what really started the "walk in a straight line" JRPG experience.

The games are flashy, and maybe you might like the combat a bit, but the story is bad and the exploration is gone, so I wouldn't recommend it.

Also, latter games have less characters. FF13-3 is just Lightning, no more party members. Also, despite what the flashy videos might imply, it's still a basic turn-based battle system. This was before they went all ARPG like in FF15 or the new FF7R games.

True sister. A fucking 3DPd whore thread was deleted so this thread could exist. And that’s wrong
>>
>linear
as opposed to walking down "the wrong path" to get a potion
also doesn't apply after the 20 hour tutorial
>>
>>738861557
even the OG FF7 is linear for the first 10 or so hours and people never cry about it

Lightning Returns was immensely, immensely disappointing. The battle system heavily relies on parryshit which I suck at, they added a gay-ass time limit to the entire game (I don't care if you're able to extend it, fuck that shit), and worst of all, they gave Lightning a negative ass. Lightning WISHES she had Hank Hill's ass. That's how bad it is

I had a bit of fun with Lightning Returns battles. They were a bit limited, with not that many moves available in a fight and walking sucked, but it was a fun action game promoting timed blocks and stylish combos, and the RPG mechanics made me want to apply buffs/debuffs and manage a few meters.

You should do what you will

>Atelier Arland Trilogy
Sure.
>Final Fantasy 13 Trilogy
No.

The top 3 for sure try them out. Get the 13 trilogy on sale if you want to try them out because while they're not as bad as people make them out to be there's a bunch of weird annoying stuff in the game.
