I will buy the Steam version tomorrow to start it and check it out. If I actually like it then I'm planning to refund it and buy the MS Store version instead (since the saves are cross-platform).

>>738878558You don't have a lot of choices honestly, either go with the classics like NFS UG2 and MW or Forza Horizons.Tokyo Xtreme Racer is also pretty cool, but I don't know if you consider driving on a highway as open world.Night-Runners is pretty cool as well, but it's like an edgy version of TXR with PS2 vibes and great customization.Street Legal Racing Redline is old, but gold, even though it can be quite buggy, has pretty amazing customization as well.CAR TUNE: Project is like an attempt at modernizing SLRR by one of the games biggest modders, but it's very much in progress, being developed by a single dev and quite buggy as well.Revhead also fits the same mold as SLRR, but the driving physics in it really put me off from it.There's a couple of suggestions, hopefully you'll find at least one of them interesting.

When the biggest complaint seems to be "the game gave me a great car to use optionally", you must be doing something right.
It really does need an SSD to run properlyI installed it on a hard drive and I get buffering issues where the car pauses in place until the area loads in. In solo races the timer doesn't pause either so if you're in a tight race against the clock it can cuck you out of your win.I think I'll have to transfer it over to my ssd. Something to be aware of. I hope it doesn't become standard for these large games because ssd storage is a bit expensive.
