Should I bother with the Super clears, or just play levels until i'm satisfied?
This is the 3rd, arguably 2nd level in the game, and I had to grind a little while just to get under a minute (pic related, may look not close but my 2nd best before was 1:02). My main gripe is the dash, feels extremely unwieldy and difficult to use. I suppose it is in line with the rest of the controls that make the game unique and it wouldn't really be Katamari otherwise, but it's still quite the thorn to deal with. 75% of my resets (which are thankfully quick) were on the starting area because i misaligned my dash or it didn't come out and I couldn't get the 1st 16 items as I routed it. Coming from the 1st game's rather lenient time or size requirements outside of the cow/bear missions (and admitedly well hidden presents which I didn't bother with).
I do like revisiting levels and trying to route things a little, but not to the extent presented by this level. As its early enough in the game i'd just like to know what to expect and adjust my experience accordingly.

didnt read the entire post but you are supposed to play stages and then move on to the next one. go back and do all the bonus objectives later. the only thing you should really be trying to get in stages the first time you play them are cousins and presents (which are entirely cosmetic)
most importantly, HAVE FUN - katamari is not about min-maxxing/completionist retardation. if you're spending that much time thinking about this kinda shit you're missing the entire point of this stupid, fun game

Just do whatever you find most fun.
If you stop having fun on a stage, stop doing it.

I figured as much from the overall aesthetic and the 4chan's archive relative lack of discussion surrounding these objectives. I really should have trusted my instinct more on that, but it's nice to have confirmation. I'll just play the rest of the game more chill and enjoy myself that way.
Coming from the 1st one, I'm at least already a big fan of the few tunes i've heard. Bluffing Damacy is a bop, and being able to choose your song is awesome.

There’s no reason to get them all. Just try your best and don’t disappoint the king.

You'll naturally get better and more accustomed to the game as you play. Trying to first time 100% all of it is meaningless, un-optimal and most importantly, unfun.

the OST is one of my favorite in any game, and changed my perception of japanese media in general when i first played this like 20 years ago
the only real "important" objective thats not mentioned in the game until the very end is that you unlock a special eternal stage of sorts if you collect every cousin. its almost impossible to get them all without repeating stages, but just keep that in mind going forward. pic rel has always been my favorite, or the mushroom one (Kinoko)
