Would you anons be opposed to a remake of Fallout 1 and 2 if it stayed true to the gameplay and story of the originals? I'm thinking mostly its just a graphics and resolution boost but I guess it would also be worth fixing the agility stat so that the stats are more balanced.
No I would not be opposed to that. In the same way I'm not opposed to a billion dollars appearing in my bank account. I mean it'd be nice, but it's never gonna happen.
>>738872290you could fix a lot more than just putting a new coat of paint on it, like the ability to control party members and add in missing content
>>738872290It might be kind of weird because the graphics were created by digitizing clay and CGI models, and the difference was already kind of uncanny in the original games, but will be more obvious in a higher resolution. Maybe if you could create everything with CGI first and add some choppiness to the animations it'd look even better than the original games because the clay model animations were really clunky while the CGI ones were really smooth.
>>738872835Diablo II Resurrected seemed to be received well for the most part and both Fallout and Diablo II kind of have the same style graphics and view in how you look at the games.
>>738872290>Would you anons be opposed to a remakeyes
>>738872290I'm not opposed to a remake per se, but i know there's no one capable of doing a good remake (and M$ wouldn't let them anyway), if anything it's going to be a bloated, overproduced crap with alterations to meet the expectations of the "modern audiences".
>>738872290The only things that really need a "do over" in FO1/2 is making some of the useless skills more viable or just outright axing them and replacing their stat boosting effects with items.I.E, make small guns viable through all of FO1, do something with the traps and outdoorsman skills, re-write all of Fallout 2
>>738872290Yes. It's complete un-remakeable.
>>738872290keeping it too faithful would make it unnecessary. Expand it to a full length RPG and rebalance all of the skills/stats while adding new locations, quests, items, enemies etc. mods and community edition already fix the UI and resolution while adding some QoL things
>>738873571Yeah the games are very good but they are definitely very unbalanced. A lot of older RPGs were simply like this though.
>>738872290Why waste time and effort on something that doesn't need a remaster? Work on a mod like nevada or sonora.
>>738872290>Would you anons be opposed to a remake of Fallout 1 and 2No>if it stayed true to the gameplay and story of the originals?Yes.A straight remake is boring and pointless. I can go replay FO1 and 2 any time. If you're going to do a remake, change the gameplay style.
>>738872290Best I can do is a 120 gigabyte UE5 Fallout 3 port.
>>738872290>Would you anons be opposed to a remake of Fallout 1 and 2Yes. Remakes are retarded. Just play the originals. Things don't need to me remade, just make new shit instead.
Gaming is so creatively bankrupt, and gamers are so mentally stunted, that all that can be thought up and produced now are fucking remakes of already successful games.
>>738872968But they are not the same style of game. Also D2R is fucking trash. It looks like shit.
>>738875390This, it's honestly a travesty.
>>738872290I don't see the point. Maybe a rerelease that fixes some of the crashing on modern hardware but the games are otherwise fine as they are.
>>738872290just remove stats, specials and skills like fallout 4 did
>>738875745Hell yeah just slap on some sort of Pokeshit gameplay on this bitch
