It's better than nocturne.
>>

so true xister!
>>
Base game alone? No, Vengeance route and 150 levelcap mode, miles better.
>>
>>738872479
I disagree and I also hated 3
>>
>>738872479
3 is the worst mainline entry so that’s not a hard accomplishment
>>
>>738872479
It is on QoL by a landslide but at the same time it's WAY too easy, all of the "survival" skills from demons are practically useless since you can heal and save virtually anywhere, so the sense of danger is all but gone, the balance of having battle and field skills goes out the window, and it's also not as memorable, plus, the final boss in either run is kinda underwhelming compared to Nocturne's.
>>
>>738872760
I much prefer VV's Lucifer with the star gimmicks and reversing resistances to the slog that is Nocturne's Lucifer. Similarly Nocturne doesn't even get a super boss to VV's 3.

Boss design is generally better in VV IMO with lots of team battles where the enemy party works together, as opposed to just chipping at one strong guy.

Is it better than Tokyo Mirage Sessions?

What is he reading?

Why are Japanese retard devs so obsessed with high school?
>>
>>738874202
Because adulthood is the endless horror of corporate grind. For a lot of the people making these intellectual properties high school is the last time where they had a sense of freedom and earnest optimism for the future.
>>
>>738872479
what is it about SMT that attract the most contrarians, counter-contrarians and counter-counter-contrarians?
I've never seen an SMT thread that wasn't non-sense
>>
>>738872479
People overrate the fuck out of Nocturne.
>>
>>738872479
>no dungeons

I NEED to have sweaty gay sex with nahobino
>>
>>738872479
No it's not. 3 is actually the perfect SMT in all aspects. Everything works.
>>
>>738872479
That's not saying much. Nocturne is boring as shit
I still think iv is better than either and strange journey is even better
>>
>>738874560
The whole game is dungeons. Besides the lack of random encounters what's different between exploring Shinjuku and exploring Sector E?

Imo

I think it's funny that /v/ stopped pretending to like SMTV after it was no longer a switch exclusive
>>

>IVA higher than IV
based
>>
>>738872479
Not a high bar.
>>
>>738874806
You never actually played 1 or 2 or they would be on the bottom
You watched youtube videos about 1 and 2 and don't know that they are fucking atrocious slogs to actually play with extremely basic repetitive dungeon design and combat that is completely broken with status effects(1 far more than 2)
>>

SJ>desu1>Vengance>iva>desu2>iv>Nocturne>>>> 2>>>>1>>>>>>literal shit>>>>>if

IV is literally the most broken game in the franchise. Most of the game uses placeholder stats because it's simply not finished
>>
>>738874851
Not that anon, but aside from the writing, the gameplay is objectively better than IV, so I really can't understand why people think it's worse. I can't think of a single gameplay aspect that wasn't made better in IV:A. The map isn't a fucking maze, difficulty doesn't drop off a cliff, your 'allies' aren't sometimes actively a detriment to you without you being able to control it, you can see when an npc has something new to say or new stuff, it's easier to figure out what you have to fuse to get what you want, all stats are actually functional and one isn't just clearly better than all the others, etc.
>>
>>738873920
The only Atlus' games worse than TMS (of those I played) are Metaphor, Soul Hackers 2, Persona 5 Tactica, Persona Q2, and Strange Journey.
>>
>>738875365
1's combat is LITERALLY broken. You can infinitely lock bosses in shock status so they never get a turn to do anything and then just sit there for 10 minutes hitting essentially a big punching bag as the hp pools are retardedly high for no particular reason.
Charm is similarly broken and make random encounters a non factor other than waiting for the enemies to kill themselves.
Like I said, you have never played these games. Iv has plenty of issues but one and two are legitimately terrible and it makes you look like a retard to put them over anything
>>
>>738875113
2 is legitimately like my third or fourth favorite one because it had the most interesting story of pretty much all of them. I also love the broken zio spells that you can stunlock every try boss with including the final boss and I was extremely pissed I couldn’t cheese if…’s final boss that way (if… is pure dogshit anyway)
