I've played through it when it released.
It's fun when it comes to questing since it's not always obvious what the right choices are and you don't just pick from 1 (good option) 2 (neutral) 3 (evil) 4 (goodbye). You can permanently lock yourself out of NPCs good favor if you say something wrong. Combat is ok, you are very starved for ability and perk points so if you play on the harder difficulty you have zero room experimentation and have to min-max your guys. Some skills don't work they way they are described so it's always good to test them out before comitting. Also pretty much impossible to play solo (which I originally inteded) due to how outnumbered you are and the action economy. I'll probably replay it again after all the patches are out, I still quite enjoyed it.

The solo aspect was meant as in no party members.
You get one guaranteed at the start depending on your background and then you can get more later based on your quest outcomes.
