I wanted to like it cuz the artstyle is cool but it’s such a fucking boring game mode. youre supposed to feel tension when you’re exploring doing side quests but its just tedious. The 5 minutes of exciting PvP are lost in the 20 minutes of doing literally anything else, and this is intended design. Also in the early games there’s basically no hero customization at all, and very little access to interesting guns. Also I dislike that there’s heroes at all. If the plot of the game is I’m a disembodied consciousness in a disposable body then why can I only play as 5 quirk chungus heroes with voice lines that imply they’re characters? It feels like a patchwork solution to the shallow build variety or worse, an easy way to paywall skins. The lore is cool but you only ever get it when you’re in your hub menu or via resident evil text scroll, meaning I gain nothing meeting the game at its level instead of wiki diving.
