"We'll always be together, right, Anon? Everyday is gonna be a blast!"

Super Bomberman 5 is better than 2

yeah
>>

I fucked up with 64 being my first game. I can't enjoy any other bomberman game because the gameplay isn't like that.
>>
>>738877532
as popular as it is, it's kinda weird we haven't gotten an indie game clone of it yet
>>
>>738877453
that's not a controversial opinion, anon
>>
>>738878164
Because it's not popular. It's "cult classic" level, at best.
>>
new game status?

bomberman 64 was so much fun...how could they not take this formula not the next level
>>
>>738877453
is that supposed to be a hot take?

A lot of people gas up 2 a lot.

desu all the supers kinda blend together for me. bombermans is the same
>>
>>738880302
If only there was some sort of second attack
>>
>>738883142
64 and TSA don't play the same, don't even kid.
>>
>>738883142
They don't have the same game mechanics. It just has the same shounen storytelling. or rather, they double downed on the story and scrapped the gameplay. I'm not saying they should remove classic style gameplay, but they should bring back 64 gameplay as spin offs.
>>
>>738876247
Panic bomber W will always be the best bomberman game.
>>
>>738883434
Why do they call her Miss Flashy? Is it because she has flashy panties?
>>
>>738883180
>>738883383
I genuinely don't know how you can lament TSA not being the same gameplay as 64. The music and levels in 64 were nice, but the primary objectives of each level were braindead easy while the secret gold cards required so much retarded bomb bouncing autism. TSA was more like a fully realized 3D adventure of the classic Bomberman style singleplayer modes than 64 ever was.
>>
What genre do the non-platformer single player Bomberman games like NES, Generations, and Jetters fall under?
>>
>>738886192
Not them, but I guess because it felt less 3D as a whole and also had a lower frame rate in general. Bomberman Hero is more of an actual 3D game in execution, but loses some of that traditional bomberman spirit as a result.
>>
>>738886474
Stage-Based Action-Adventure? In theory, they and second attack are more like the overhead Zelda-ish games from GBC and GBA. Even though in actual practice, they're spiritual successors to the Neutopia games, even sharing some of the same sprites/sprite designs.
>>
>>738886192
The levels in 64 were simple but they were nice and quick. One of the biggest problem that TSA has is that its pacing is horrible with levels taking 30-60 minutes each and no real breaks. And I wouldn't call a fully realized 3D take as it controls like a 2D Bomberman game, and there's no real creative use of the elevation in the level design like 64.
>the secret gold cards required so much retarded bomb bouncing autism
This is such a dumb criticism and I'm sick of people always parroting it. You're literally only required to do bomb jumping for three levels in the game to get the true ending. I don't know where people got this idea that 64 is a game where you constantly have to do bomb jumps.
>>
>>738886654
>they and second attack are more like the overhead Zelda-ish games from GBC and GBA
That would be bomberman tournament, which was almost quite literally a GBA zelda game with bomberman modded in.
>>
>>738886474
The only genre they can fit into are "Action" or "Action-adventure". Both genres with kinda vague definitions, but everything else doesn't really work.
>>
>>738887119
It was a bit lacking in gadgetry. Hell, I think Quest on GBC has more actual gadgets than the karaboms, which were more power upgrades than anything. Neutopia is pretty similar, since even though it is a zelda-like, and a damn blatant one, there's not a lot of actual gadgets you use.

A little plain, honestly. But not in a bad way.
>>
>>738886192
Most gold cards only required you to simply be thorough with your exploration since bomb bouncing really only becomes demanding in the Rainbow Palace. Even then, the difficulty isn't even the cards that you can just ignore unless you want 100% completion, but the fact that bomb bouncing is outright required just to progress.

People seem to like overblown the difficulty of getting the Gold Cards but getting them from levels or The Masked Trio isn't hard at all. The only challenging part is getting them from the few big bosses.
