It's a specific kind of hard:
The visual filters will filter out your eyes, the constantly replaying dialogues will filter out your ears and the thousands of boxes hidden in designer's ass will filter out your patience.

It's not that difficult aside from like 4 levels.

But it takes some time, I'm a fan of the franchise and in my first 106% it took me 71 hours.

The annoying part is watching a playthrough of the level in YT before your attempt because there's a ton of hidden boxes in retard places.

Platinum times are a breeze and genuinely fun, I was a hater of the mode in Crash 3 but I really liked it in 4, the triple spin adds a nice rhythmic element to the gameplay.

Don't be stupid and go for the nverted gems as you go for the nsane perfect relics, I see a lot of people hunting for the nsane relics and then unnecessarily replaying a level to get the nverted gems, something they could have done already.

It drags and is annoying

Here's all you need to know
>Each level has multiple clear gems, and sometimes a colored gem
>Clear gems involve not just breaking every box, but also include 3 for different Wumpa Fruit ammounts, 1 for less than 3 deaths, 1 for less than 1 death and 1 hidden gem in the level itself
>Each level also has a N.Sane relic, which is obtained by clearing the stage while breaking every box, getting the 100% wumpa count AND not dying once.
>Then you have Time Relics, which require you to finish the level at a certain time, Gold Relics are required for 100%
>Also, at the half way point in the game, you find Inverted levels, which are the same levels you already played, but with different visuals, these all have their own set of gems, relics and what not
>Some levels also have Flashback tapes, which unlock flashback levels which are also required to 100%

AND some extra annoying shit to add
>Theres Tawna, Cortex and Dingodile levels, which not only have their own gems and relics, but also reuse Crash and Coco levels at points, making them extra long since you are playing that stage once more
>Only Cortex is fun to play out of those 3
>MANY levels have multiple boxes outside your view, you literally cannot see them and have to take shitty guesses or use a guide, like that motherfucking box on the swamp level


Install the N.Hanced edition mod for Crash 4 if you want to keep the same difficulty and level design, but dial down on all the repetitive shit + Purple gem added

"Hard" isn't the right word for it. Every single challenge comes down to rote memorization and/or muscle memory. Anyone can do it with enough time. The problem is that it is an absurd, tedious timesink of a task. Crash 4 is the kind of game you hand to an 8 year old who has to be raised by a TV because his parents won't stop fighting in the other room. That's who you could, and should, expect to 106% this game, the kind of people who have no real alternative in life but escaping into the abyssal grind.
