I want to play so many games but I can obviously only play one at a time. This often leads me to this hellish spiral where I open my game library and just fucking look at it instead of actually playing it. What the fuck is wrong with me? I waste like 1 hour or more deciding what to play instead of just playing. How do you guys typically decide what to play? I always feel like I have to sort of "Settle" into a game and can't just play anything for an hour. Any game I do decide to play, I have to play for more than hour otherwise I feel that its not worth it. Fucking hell.
>>738881197I've got a rolling list of games I want to play, and put them into a list of games I've completed when I'm done.Keeping track of these things and especially being able to visually see what you've played can be motivating.I just use the sorting options in my steam library but you could write it down if you wanted.I've been doing this since 2024 and have since cleared 39 games, dropped 6, and still have 33 (that I have so far added) that I would like to play.Sometimes you need to also just start and then get the ball rolling and it's easy
>>738881562Do you find that your mood changes what you want to play? For example, I want to play Age of Wonders 4 right now but to me its a game that has a lot going on strategically and it makes me not want to start it up even though I like it. Then I have World of Warcraft that I like playing also but again, its a game I find to be time absorbing even though I like it. I feel that I can turn it on and not really make much progress. But maybe its not always about progress and instead about fun.
>>738881761>Do you find that your mood changes what you want to play?yeah. sometimes I want to sit and chill so I'll have something turn based going on, or if I don't want something too serious because I'm tired or don't have a lot of time I'll find something that can be played in short bursts.Tragically, I get into habits of playing similar things back to back, so I recently finished Warhammer Rogue Trader, and went straight into the Pathfinder games, and now that I'm done there, I'm playing Dragon Age Origins. I have finished inbetween shit like Pizza Tower and Armored Core, but yeah, the focus can sometimes get split and progress is slow.Try to enjoy the games at the very least, rather than like a checklist. Sounds contrary to how I'm playing things, but I do currently have the time, and enjoy most of what I play, and drop the things I don't
