Are you stupid?
In-game economy has been wiped a dozen times by now.
Every time they do a big enough update and need to see how the player-side develops from scratch, they wipe the economy.

That's also when they go to target anyone that was having too much fun with money-dupes as part of a mass ban.

Most of the money printed went into squadron 42 and back into trying to get their absurd dream of sharding to work exactly the way they want it do.

If they manage to get it working, they just need to scale up the size of the servers and players will naturally come because they are the only people doing this stuff on an MMO scale.
And for every 100 or 1000 players with a brain that won't waste money on anything but the upfront price.
there will be another WHALE.

A GLORIOUS whale that will spend tens of thousands of dollars if not hundreds of thousands on in-game items.

I do periodically, it can be pretty fun with all the different situations that can emerge. Can also be excruciatingly boring, really just depends on what you're doing and with who. But I think it's unparalleled in its ability to immerse you in its world, which is something that no modern MMO has been able to achieve (for me).

Anyway thanks for letting me know about the update OP, reinstalling now.

no game comes close to star citizen when it comes to the flight simulation and atmosphere approaches. i say this as a giant space nerd who has played ALOT of space simulatros.
but its so sad that the frames are absolute DOGSHIT when you approach a station or city and it just kills the experience everytime.

the fact that they're hauling the same cargo on the same route again and again for a pittance that'll be swept away soon for whatever reason (bugs, reset, economy change, new OP ship, whatever) doesn't matter to them, they've already added star citizen to the same part of the mind that stores political party or football team

I commend the simdads. They veg out trading and making number go up, me n the boys hang out in high traffic trade lanes waiting for them with quantum snare. They drop out and try to run (they always do) and just when they think they got away, the quantum dampener goes up, and we are already intercepting them and lighting up their engines with distortion and lasers. We blast open their cargo doors or docking collars, board them, and sometimes they try to fight, but most times they remain in their flight seat frozen in terror, knowing they dumped all their money into the jolly fortune sitting in their cargo hold. We blast them, then offload all their good loot, and leave them a little chump change. If they didn't disconnect, we rez them, repair their ship, and send them on their way, limping off like a wounded animal as we share merry laughs and cheers each other. If they refuse to leave, well... we let the cannons roar and sing them a song of sorrow. Ahhhhh...! A pirates life is good, matey.
>>
>>738886158
Yes it is you retard.
How much money you spend on something is completely relative to what you're getting from it.
Nobody is going to say 4500 dollars is a lot if you're talking about a big purchase like a car or bills you need to live over a decade. However anyone in their right mind would agree that 4500 dollars for a single video game is a fucking ridiculous amount. And why would time even matter? I bought a game 10 years ago for 70 dollars, should I expect that price to multiply by over sixty times just because time passed?

I fell for scam citizen back when it was announced in 2012 when I was a much younger and dumber manand wasted $1000 on various ships and yet I've never played the game no even feel like it.
How do you go about selling digital items like this on eBay without getting reverse scammed? Is it even possible for game/digital items to be sold on ebay or am I holding a bag?

come on, of course they'll keep your account info,
if you BOUGHT something, as in paid for it with IRL money, you will get that, no matter which version the game is at.

That said,
THIS SHIT IS STILL IN ALPHA!?????
HUH

I know people throw "scamcitizen" around a lot, but holy shit it's obvious they have no intention of releasing this game, ever.
Being in a permanent "early alpha" is the perfect excuse they can use to always discredit any criticism, as it's always "unfinished, under development and subject to change"

I pop in to see what's going on in this never ending shitshow once a year or so and the biggest improvements over the past few years have been in the netcode and stability. The act of actually playing the game is always a struggle.
>>
>>738885193
I've played it, like 2 days at most
it was too broken for me to enjoy it, but the city, interiors, ship interiors and flying/dogfighting was impressive.
I backed it in kickstarter, and I feel thoroughly betrayed.
Despite it being partially cool, I have no way of justifying a game that's been in development this long and still hasn't delivered on their promises despite earning SO MUCH MORE than what they ever asked for.
It's absolutely criminal and I genuinely believe there would be cause for legal action.
>>
>>738897298

>>
>>738897696
I tried it last year spring
Never had any NPC:s glitching out but I could not finish even ONE delivery mission without it bugging out and not working.
Literally hours of trying, and eventually had my ship glitch out and explode while parked outside a drop outpost.

Of all the complaints I have about this game, NPC:s were not it. They are pretty soulless and static however.

After 15 years of game development I don't know if the game is meant to be an MMO where everyone shares the same server like EVE, sharded like WoW, or it's just a singleplayer game where you can see (but not interact with) other players around quest hubs.
