one of these comes along every month and PC players lap it up. i don't understand.

Humans yearn to see the fruits of their labor and survival games scratch that itch. We no longer have to hunt, gather, build, or do anything that has to do with survival because modern society takes care of all of our basic needs. It's probably why so many of us are depressed nowadays, because life has become so comfortable we no longer have to fight for anything. Just wake up, go to your job, buy slop at the market, return home, play, and go to bed.

They're pretty alright, and more of them are starting to understand that there should be a story and goal instead of just a sandbox to fuck around in.

When set up right, they're a great mutliplayer RPG framework

You have to understand some things about Survival sloppers such as myself to understand why.

First is that there's a big jump between mostly PvP survival games and mostly PvE survival. Like I don't even consider Rust part of the genre even though it's the biggest game, because Rust is like 90% PvP and 10% about actual base building and hitting trees.
The fanbase of PvE oriented games is way different than PvP. There's plenty of PvP "survival crafting" games like Rust, or DayZ or even maybe Arc Raiders.
There are not a ton of PvE games, and of those that are there aren't many decent ones, and barely a few good ones.

The "good" PvE ones are shit like Conan Exiles or Valheim which have really terrible flaws and issues. And shit like related which just sold 2 million fucking copies despite being a total rip off and completely fucking shallow.
So there's basically very few games, and barely any good games, and all the good games aren't even good.

So we already our standards are in the gutter and we buy every single survival crafting game even if it sucks in the hopes that maybe it doesnt (it does)

you know, a normal person would just say "I didn't like Windrose, it felt uninspired" instead of trying to give yourself credence by embedding it in a bunch of armchair gobbledegook

It's transparent as hell and completely unneeded. You can just say you didn't like it and that's just fine.

Imagine my surprise when this one actually had A-tier combat and enemy design. It's basically Monster Hunter in disguise.

Sorry next time ill just talk like a braindead retard to appeal to someone like you
>>
Vintage Story, Valheim, and Lay of the Land are the only ones worth playing in this hellhole of a genre

Projecting. You are a redditor and lately your ilk can only reflect insults back at people like teenaged girls.

>because modern society takes care of all of our basic needs
No, because the government will put you in a forced labor camp if you try to do anything

Nigger you mentioned a subreddit, and then say someone's projecting when they call you a redditor? How retarded can one man be?

>one of these comes along every month
You can say this about any genre

There are fuck all coop games. Seriously this is one of the few genres where it is fundamental requirement that you have coop.

Tried a couple of those during the years and the only one that I had actual fun with was Palworld, although that barely counts when it comes to the survival part (hunger, etc).

So touchy and insecure, but I guess that's implied by having to wrap your post in a blanket, but don't worry dude. I don't hold it against you. I'm just saying you don't need to dress shit up to try to bury your obvious point. It absolutely does not help.

PvP fags in these games are retards. You want asymmetric advantage cos you suck. Just say that next time and go back to Arc.
