Finally, a Buckle Belt run. I wanted the Sigil but I don't think it would've changed the game that much since I was overblocking every turn already. Also it's my first time with a Doom deck that has neither Sleigh of Flesh nor No Escape. Also the new boss doesn't really punish Souls that much if you can maintain enough Block and have a lot of energy. Plus if your hand is full the Withers get discarded anyways.

Is there any real recourse or planning to hedge against the Test Subject's intangible phasing besides steady dishonest damage like poison or doom? I've lost like 3 very strong A10 runs in which I quickly scaled and defeated the first 2 phases with minimal HP loss, then lose 60+ HP even with high strength gain, due to weird draws. It feels weird because there are runs where the Test Subject melts away and others where you are potentially wasting hundreds of damage on the intangible phase. Even with high defensive scaling, you can end up in this position.

Started a week ago and almost up to A10 on all characters. It's not hard, certainly not for anyone who beat StS1.I did read a negative review that pointed out that StS2 devolves into infinite cycling combos way too much, and I tend to agree with it. Maybe I've conditioned myself to it, but it does feel like for every character that's the most consistent way to win, so it doesn't ultimately feel like there's that much variety.
i beat A9 on silent by drafting footwork and the +2str+2stam leather belt neutral power within the first half of act 1, then I got a shitload of shivs and vajra and the lipstick and a shitload of discard and then finally kunai so I could get like +3 dexterity a round and I still almost died against the experiment. it felt like cheating yet also necessary, is it supposed to be this difficult to beat A9?

Climbing with Defect is so fun. This time, the game solved itself: I got glam Tempest + Vigorous Barrage (and Tent!) early into Act 1. Bulk up, Capacitator, and Prowess came later. I even saved Gigantification potion from act 1 or 2 until Aeonglass fight for a sweet 60x5 on Barrage (and that's with me forgetting to apply vuln before that)

Man I hate this ascension mechanic, the higher you climb, the weaker you are. After experiencing the drug of being strong at lower ascension, I have to experience the peasant life of a shitter with less potion slots, more expensive removal, worse rewards... The only nerfing ascension I'm fine with is the Ascender bane.If I could mod, I'd make it so enemies get stronger on each ascension instead of gimping myself further.
in my experience soul fysh isn't as hard as people make him out to be. he doesn't hit and the beckons do more than your base defend so in a way you get help with not having good block in your deck by just playing/discarding the beckons and you can go pretty long against him with enough health.

This run is a crazy high roll. I almost died early on taking so many subroutines after getting game piece but then it started coming together. Got mummified hand, then creative AI, then unceasing top and now I'm able to just spam click every card every turn.
