>>738936150Yeah I can explain, the question that was asked isn't the full extent of how FFXI handles it, but basically in FFXI while some animations are shared, every race and gender all have unique ways of holding certain weapon types. For example, Male Elvaans would hold greatswords in more of a kendo-like stance compared to a male Hume who holds greatswords like the tranditional way you see them held in most games. You didn't have bespoke animations for *every* weapon type (Like you would hold 1h swords and 1h axes the same way for your race/gender, for example) but what animations you did have were all bespoke for your race and gender and added ALOT of personality to your race of choice. Like other Anons have mentioned this carried over to weapon skill animations too (pentathrust from Tarus were always hilarious to watch) which I doubt they would go that far, but for at least idle stances it wouldn't be too hard to do. Like I said to a different anon, the workload animations wise is similar to the bespoke emote animations they already do.
