I got a Shitch 2 and was going to buy the new games to finally catch up with the series but apparently they made them even easier and even went so far as to make it impossible to turn the exp share off. Why are they so actively hostile to the old fans? Anyways I guess I'll just emulate and use difficulty hacks.

The last Pokemon game I played was X from the X/Y generation. I was considering buying a Switch 2 soon, should I just play the latest one? What is it? Z-A? It looked kinda....bleh. Arceus looked weird as well cause of the open-world mechanic.

>>738905107Scarlet/Violet with dlc has the best story of any switch game if you play pokemon for that, it also got a switch 2 upgrade so you can play in 60 fps. It has the most expansive pokedex to transfer into Champions if you're into pvpLA is a pretty cool standalone title where you can experience everything and actually catch the full pokedex without having to go online and trade for version exclusives. The battle and catching mechanics are very different from mainline games. The downside is that it doesn't have a switch 2 patch so it's still in 30 fps. ZA completely ditches the turn based system. The map is confined to just the Lumiose city for the entire game, but you get to walk on rooftops and there's quite a bit of verticality. Imo this game put the most amount of effort on letting you handle the pokemons like how the anime showed it. Release them from the pokeball whenever, mega evolve whenever, actually run around to dodge attacks, etc.
