I would never use save states!
Except… when my emulator automatically sets one after closing the game… but I didn’t do that and it usually just makes me skip the title screen since the emulator will automatically load from where I left off.

That doesn't work all the time. The thing with the close is that the battle is down to luck.

If the clone decides to keep moving/jumping at you, you're fucked. If it keeps away from you, you can win.

the pattern is fixed
you only have to pay attention to the bottom 2 rows
if something is coming at you on those rows, then necessarily it is safe to jump by design

There's one tricky part in his pattern. You have to make a long jump over two parts, because there's not enough time to land and then jump again.

That's the part where most players get hit.

Wow. That's some absolute fucking nonsense.

I was already thinking about what a tedious piece of shit boss design that was, and then when it had a Phase 2, I was blown back. Sinking to levels of awful design I hadn't even imagined.
