Just let Fromsoftware do the OoT remake to be honest. Make it a complete Souls x Zelda game experience where it's labyrinthine dungeon design, and tough enemies around each corner.

I can imagine classic Zelda dungeons working perfectly with a bonfire system, and Souls games could really benefit from "Zelda items" and room puzzles.

I don't mind that because unless you're nostalgiafagging, the Water Temple in OoT is just bad, over-estimated design. Having to memorize that layout for your very first time while also paying attention to the water-rising mechanic that's introduced, and having to then memorize which path on which water level leads to the specific room that resets the water level just isn't a fun thing to solve. OoT 3D pretty much made it perfect.
I wouldn't mind dungeons being made slightly simpler if it means coupling them with more Dark Soulsy corridors where the challenge of the room is that a Lizalfos jumps out from a corner and backstabs you if you're not on your watch.
Playing Dark Souls 1/2 I always get massive OoT vibes. Part of it is that the sound sample they use for ravens is the exact same as in Ocarina of Time, but also just the atmosphere itself.

They just need to make a game with Twilight Princess combat but all the techniques and items are actually integrated into the enemy design and placement in mechanically thoughtful ways, but also have a few more weapon types for your base moveset while we’re at it. they're both fantasy where you lock onto enemies and swing a sword. that's pretty much where the similarities end. it's like saying Metroid Prime is a Call of Duty-like. they're completely different games beyond the very surface of the combat mechanics. Souls games are much more action focused. weapons in Zelda are just as much puzzle solving tools as they are combat tools, whereas everything in Souls is purely about combat. Souls is an action RPG, and Zelda is an action adventure and puzzle game.
they're not even particularly similar aesthetically, again beyond the surface of them both being sword-and-board fantasy games. Zelda can be dark, but it's never as hopeless and grimdark as Souls. Souls completely lacks the whimsical fairytale nature of Zelda and the warmth that punctuates its darkness.

it's a retarded comparison. Souls was obviously shallowly inspired by Zelda, but it doesn't retain very many elements.

You can't make an actual sequel to OoT. That misses the point of what Ocarina of Time is. Majora's Mask works as a side-story or aftermath that's only loosely connected to anything.
But yeah, a brand new Zelda game in general with Fromslop would be sick. I'd much rather Nintendo gives it to them than MonolithSoft, and I'd honestly much rather have that as the Fromsoft "exclusivity deal" with Nintendo than fucking Duskbloods.
