Because the game fucking sucked?
>>
they killed Metroid Dread 2 for this trash...
>>
They had to have known this game sucked, they barely tried to market it at all.

They were hiding parts of Prime 4 until the last second. The trailers with Miles and the motorbike showed that the product would probably suck. More promotion of Prime 4 might've lead to the game doing worse.

Metroid 6 is still in development. 2D Metroid is made by an entirely different studio than Prime, retard-kun.

>Why is a game releasing in a month being actively marketed while a game that released half a year ago isn’t?
Gee, I dunno…
>>
>>738910590
Well besides that Star Fox is Miyamoto's baby and he still has a lot of pull, I think Nintendo just became disillusioned with Prime 4 over its development and even they knew they shit the bed a little. The initial announcement all the way back in 2017 was given a special spot in an E3 direct and announced as a system seller. But then development just dragged on and on, and obviously had a lot of trouble, and I think at some point they kind of quietly gave up on it.

OP is referring to the lack of marketing before prime 4 released, baka
>>738910590
They knew they had a massive disappointment on their hands.
>>
>>738910590
Because star fox looks good and prime 4 looked like shit

prime 4 got several trailers before release and was featured in multiple directs whilst star fox's only got one so far and was revealed less than 2 months before release, stop being retarded

>Starfox
>getting promoted
The N64 game got ads like this
https://youtu.be/G23XtCDDIEM
the Switch 2 remake gets a single trailer dropped a month before release, it's pretty clear they don't care about the remake at all here.
>>
>>738910590
>left ignored
Retard has over 10 games in this millenium while star fox has only 5 two of which are just remasters

Prime 4 cost like 100 million because of the troubled dev cycle. Marketing would have made its budget even higher and Nintendo knew it wasn't selling enough to break even.

This. They knew. Other M is a worse game, but Prime 4 hurt more because of the hopes and expectations. My only comfort is Tanabe (being forced into) retiring.

Because they had a marketing plan for Metroid to give the series overall more attention but Prime 4's development hell screwed up those plans (at least Dread was there for it). By the time the game was ready the momentum and plans were squashed. They'll try again another time I'm sure but right now they're trying a similar marketing plan with Star Fox.
>>
>>738910590
Because Prime 4 fucking sucked. There was no reason for this to be open world and even the Metroid elements are done poorly
>>
Retro must be on the verge of shutdown right?
>>
>>738910590
>open world metroid
Literally nobody in the entire universe asked for this.

TELL ME ABOUT MIYAMOTO!
WHY DOES HE LOVE THE STAR FOX?
>>
>>738917242
Tendies are bottom feeding scum, not my opinion, a quote from Nintendo's CEO

>It doesn't matter why Miyamoto-san loves the StarFox

Y'all had two new games in the last generation, you greedy bastard.

Don't worry, the Star Fox humiliation cycle has only just begun. When mid sales and reviews start coming in (Star Fox Zero was the #1 selling game on Amazon, I would like to remind the kids in the back with their hands raised) Nintendo is going to blame the IP for being "irrelevant and blame the fans for being "too picky" (because we know what we want and Nintendo consistently does the opposite) and then it'll be another 10 years in the vault, and in that time there will probably be at least one good Metroid game.

I can see the appeal of being a console war bootlicker because for them everything Nintendo does is right and they never make a bad call, but when you are a fan of a specific series, be it Metroid or Star Fox (both in my case) watching Nintendo snatch defeat from the jaws of victory over and over again is pure aggravation.
>>
>>738910590
Prime 4 was shit and Dread was a shittier version of metroid that is easier than all of the metroidvania's that came out after fusion.
20 years of waiting
OG metroidfags are almost 50 years old now.

I don't understand why they keep doing it. It's like watching a retarded kid play with white spirits, light themselves on fire, get 4th degree burns, heal up, and then play with white spirits again.
>>
>>738910590
Because they knew Prime 4 was dogshit and wanted to get over it already. That's why they hid as much as they could until the last second - if they actually showed the game earlier, sales would've been abysmal.
The fact that they're actually showing Star Fox at least tells you that they believe in it.
