Why is there no video game that explores the concept of escaping our Universe into another?
>>
>>738912883
Bioshock Infinite
>>
Just thinking about the Universe and reality hurts my brain. I hope we solve the secrets of it all one day, somehow.
>>
>>738912883
Literally EVERY SINGLE VN that canonizes multiple routes and replayability as part of its lore(which is a lot)
>>
>>738912883
Stellaris, oddly enough. If you go cosmogenesis.
>>
>>738914497
I liked the cosmogenesis route up until the end where they made you tour your empire planet by planet to pick people up instead of having the people come to a centralized location. A pointless and annoying extra task that just wastes a few years of your ingame time for no reason
>>
People can't really comprehend the size of a universe anyway
>>
>>738912883
Half-Life has this as the general plot. Xen is the space between universes and the Combine are from an older universe.
>>
>>738912883
because it's not real so is gravity
the only real thing is me your fucking mc of this world if i die the whole light and feeling factor dies with
>>
>>738912883
Is there a theory where universes are finite and you just cross into the next if you go far enough in the normal three dimensions?
>>
>>738914763
>>
>>738914763
Travelling at the speed of light you can never get out of our observable universe because things are accelerating away from us
You could I guess think of everything outside the observable universe as being a different universe seeing as its completely inaccessible to us but that would be semantic I think

Multiverse is an escape route for writers with no commitment.

From a narrative standpoint an infinite multiverse is retarded because it makes each universe less unique.

>>738915098
>Nothing can move faster than causality
>Except everything
Who writes this crap?
>>
>>738918956
Infinite Universe: Our universe is spatially infinite (or extremely large and flat). Because it's infinite, every possible configuration of matter and energy repeats infinitely many times.

Daughter Universe: New universes are "born" from existing ones, often through black holes or quantum processes. A "parent" universe gives rise to "daughter" or "baby" universes.

Parallel Universe: Multiple universes exist alongside ours, often with different histories, outcomes, or slight variations. These can be "parallel" in the sense of co-existing without interacting.

Bubble Universe: Our universe is one "bubble" that stopped inflating and cooled down, inside a larger eternally inflating multiverse. New bubbles constantly form.

>>738919232
Those things moving faster than causality (from your frame of reference) are causally disconnected from you.

string theory is unproven and majority of physicist don't believe it
>>
The multiverse interpretation was just a thought experiment that got way out of hand, and then you have the oh my science types spewing it around as though it was fact.

Truth is we might soon discover not even the Big Bang theory is accurate, we've been finding galaxies that shouldn't exist and are way too old to fit into the theorized history of the universe, existence might be even older than we thought.
>>
>>738921807
People don't seem to understand just how vague and interpretative is our observation of space. Down here on Earth we can measure things down to nano-units, so naturally all our modens are based explicitly on what we canencounter on Earth.
Out there in space we often have people trying to deduce something from six to eight pixels.

>>
>>738922516
Go lick a bitcoin, the taste is about the same.

>>
why do you need multiple universes in the first place if its already popularly accepted that the universe expands infinitely? somewhere in another solar system, by pure random chance, there exists another earth thats the same as ours but slightly different simply because it will happen if you roll the dice enough times. if your setting has interstellar travel humanity will stumble onto another earth like theirs eventually and vice versa.
>>
>>738915178
I hate how multiverses make everything narratively meaningless, that one time Owlman directly addressed that was kind of neat though but seeing a bunch of alternate versions of a character is something I find fun.

You would have to accelerate beyond the speed of light to reach the edge of the universe which is impossible due to special relativity and time dilation. So what exists beyond the edge of the universe? Nothing that is causally connected with you. That applies for the edge of the observable universe too. It's an unsatisfying answer, but the causal relation is all we can describe with modern physics, and it's actually used for black hole event horizons too.

But what if I made a train around earth, then Input another train on this train then another and...until I go faster than light
>>
>>738931038
Hmm
>>
>>738929994
Yeah because to go at light speed means you become pure energy. Even that "warp drive" where you ride a wave of space requires infinite energy to maintain it so still not possible. The only way for FTL work will be something like moving through another dimension where you can move through it to end up someone else in the galaxy
>>
>>738928886
FTL is possible because of quantum entanglement. Information travels faster than light and can be instantaneous.
The universe is non-local, causality isn't the end all be all.
I want determinism to be true but all of our experiments point to a probabilistic universe, unless the hidden variables are found.

Anyways, my question was philosophical in nature.
>>
>>738926498
The Bible would be cooler if it included dinosaurs.
>>
>>738931824
You would need an infinite engine. Each added train requires the first train to expend more energy to move the last train.
The trails would also require to be indestructible. The faster you go, more energy would be required to move through the atmosphere and the train itself.

Think before posting, nigga.

Multiverses are dumb.
Complete lack of stakes aside, it’s a completely inane jump to make when your fictional setting doesn’t even leave the galaxy.
Why the fuck are you going to another universe, you’ve only looked at 0.0000000001% of this one.

>>738936862
I mean
I can sometimes see a logic to it, if you insist lightspeed is a hard limit, even if you had the technology to go elsewhere, that would take hundreds of years, while you can make a universal rift that takes you to another copy of the solar system much faster.
But this makes the bold assumption that the other universe has the same relative locations for everything.

You know, I don't think I've ever seen anything where you can jump to any location in another universe, but still can't move faster than light in yours, leading to universe bouncing. You jump to one, to jump back to your own wherever you want to actually be.

I implore you to avoid all info possible and just play it for a few hours based on trusting me. Get it for free or buy it I don't care. I only care that you have the best possible experience and for that one needs to go blind into that game.
The only thing I can tell you is that gameplay can be said to be similar to frostpunk in some manner.
And last but not least, I wish you a fun journey.
>>
>>738939619
>I can sometimes see a logic to it
The problem is that lightspeed thing is, how should I say, "tied to foundation of physical laws, space and time" so any possible multiverse hoping will involve light speed and gravity.
