I reject this dichotomy. Subnautica's about leaving the petty trifles of the surface world, including obnoxious and retarded race discourse, behind you and finding peace and solitude in the warm embrace of mother ocean. The most unrealisitc part of the game is how it ends with the player character willingly goes back to his shitty corposlave life instead of remaining on 4546B to live in peace in a vibrant underwater paradise.
