Telltale Walking Dead season finale had that zombie whisperer guy that is initially likeable but at some point in the game he says he's an outcast, which at first I thought he's gonna say he cared more about zombies than people, but then he showed a photograph implying it's because he's gay and I rolled my eyes so far up my socket, then I realised that episode came out somewhere in 2016-2017 (first trump era) and it suddenly made sense that shit got shoehorned. And then he turned into an unreasonable psychopath an episode later (or killed) so nothing of value was really lost. I don't care about LGBT stuff, but usually if that shit is front on centre my expectations will be lowered (i'd expect it to be more shit than good). In Dispatch I liked most of the team including Flamebae even though it's pretty obvious that he's gay but the game never point out loud about that, and also developed him so much of an asshole he's basically "he's an asshole, but he's OUR asshole". So yeah, it really depends on the execution and how natural and fitting whatever the shit you want to write. Do it well, people would like it. Do it terribly, well what do you expect? Hugbox?
