Kill da brigador, kill da mech riddah!
>>738928431Why all the japanese writing when the places the game is set in seem more latin america inspired?
Repostan because last thread was at the bump limit. What's your favorite gun? I have a lot of fun with the shotguns but they do feel kinda underwhelming for actual firefights.
>>738928557It's cool
>>738928845Kalastaja is probably my favorite handheld gun, for vehicle mounts it's the belter or the kursi if the mount is too small
The demo is very good, hopefully we won't have to wait too long for the full version but then again they should take their time and make it as good as it can be
>>738928845Its objectively kinda shitty, but I really like the fucking wild cat pistol. I mean its powerful and compact, but everything else sucks. I'd lowkey love a boss fight against a mongoose with just this. Basically a fucking musket
>>738929101I feel like the next update we're getting on this is gonna be 3 years from now
>>738929223I doubt that. Feels like a lot of the core is there, just not assets yet. Also dear good I'd give my left nut if I could play through brigador 1 campaign with the gameplay of killers. Please fucking god brigador people, let this be possible, you have no idea.
>>738929947I feel like they've been at this stage of development for a while now.
>Posadochny with the Dromon rig, a Kopinski and a Softbol>Can shoot 25mm APHE-T across 3/4ths of the map undetected, passes through most obstacles, kills armored SWAT in one shot and decrews armored APCs, too>50mm mortar for groups>Coffin powersuit to run away in case I get spottedOkay, that was pretty fun.
>>738928557This probably isn’t the reason, but Brazil actually does have a notable Japanese-descended population. In general there are a bit more East Asians on Latin America than you’d think.
>>738931798what a shitty game my god
What factions are there in Killers? Just cops, chobbers, and corvid larpers so far?
>>738933629Show me something coolerYou can't
>>738934426Seems so, I don't know if the devs are planning any others.
>>738934426>>738934607spacers for sure, i'm guessing there's going to either be different clans or just one of them to deal with? like clade vocc in the bookalso faber? I think they were in the book and they got their asses kicked because they were caught off guard, or maybe I'm thinking of nospol. The newsletters talk about them and there's a track in the ost named after them: "Recently, he's been building out vehicles for the Faber faction, which is a security group active on Mar Nosso"

>>738936587>>738936175>people complaining the devs are trans hating chuds>4chan complaining the game is wokeWELL WHICH ONE IS IT
>>738937159They cucked immediately, fired him, and issued a public apology, and affirmation of "trans rights" so it's woke.
>>738937440didn't they rehire him, which is why everyone in reddit still hates this game
>/pol/brained retard gets triggered by a joke>starts posting pictures from an unrelated gamekek. what a snowflake
>>738928557Kind of annoys me to. I guess it's cyberpunk and matches the vibe or whatever, but the game has nothing to do with Japan or Japanese culture. One of the reasons I like the setting so much is because of how distinctly unique it is, and how confident the creators is in portraying it. But the moon runes don't fit into any of that, and I wonder how much it's there for purely marketing purposes. Like he knows that sort of thing will attract more eyes.
>>738937903>but the game has nothing to do with Japan or Japanese cultureuh actually clearly japanese is spoken in this world.
>>738937550Show me proof, or you're shilling. I've seen no evidence of this. You can't cuck to the wokies, and push transvestite stuff, then just lie about it.
>>738937995Many languages are spoken since they're represented in the names of the guns and vehicles but nothing about the setting is specifically Japanese to the degree of warranting its representation in the panel art.
>>738938058His name is in the credits and every page to do with the game.>inb4 spoonfeed me directlyHow about you kill yourself instead
>waaah there's japanese on the cover artwhy do you bitch about literally everything
>>738938307I think anon was just curious.
>>738938140There's also a few east asian pilots in the first game I guess, but yeah nothing about brigador screams japan, so I'm guessing it was just for vaporwave aesthetics
>>738937995When? I played the hell out of the first game and read both the books. It's all very South American or globohomo when the corpos get involved. And the spacers are their own wacky thing; like Battletech Clanners dialed to one-hundred. I'd honestly love to see a Japan themed faction though. Everything is so skewed in this setting, there's a lot of room for both parody and genuinely awesome mech homages.
>>738938169>They hired him back>Do they say that anywhere?>Well no, but he's still in the credits, they didn't memory hole his entire existence They fired him dude. You're shilling the game. If they don't say anywhere that they hired him back after making him issue a really public apology where he endorses chopping your dick off, he's fired. It's not a joke. It's woke slop. If you're a shill, and you want my money, say "Oh no we were just kidding don't cut your dicks off we never fired/ re-hired the guy." in a public capacity. I'm not going to believe an anonymous inside source.
>>738938058It's even worse. It turned out the transphobia was just self hatred. The developer stepped away to transition and came back as a troon. That's why there are trans flags in the game now.
>>738938506It was mentioned in some post or other but you do you
>>738938626>>738938589>>738938506:O
I said it before, I quite like the game as it is. It's not the sequel I wanted but it's a perfectly fine game and I guess that's really the most we could ever ask for in this day and age.
>>738938747Amusingly I wanted the first game to have more infantry stuff but that ended up being the sequel. Also I was not expecting the vehicle building, but it turns out that’s kind of the perfect mech game right there, so it’s possible killers will satisfy both my desire for infantry and mech in this setting
>>738939000doesn't he die
I was wondering why that retard got so aggressive when I asked about Jack last thread. Now I see he wasn't entirely schizo. Funny to be called "increasingly desperate" after I went to bed though. Dramafags are a cancer and 8mm wildcat is the solution.
To get things more on topic, did anyone notice there's more shit in the fabricator now? I don't remember being able to stack so many explosives on a Varlet.
>that one asian pilot with a not asian name and there’s zero information about her, no family records, unremarkable combat records but apparently has killer instincts, and paints her face like a corvid but is a loyalistwonder if that will come up in killers

I bounced off the first book early because I thought Hugh being the protagonist meant it was going to be some dev wish fulfillment bullshit. I wish it didn't star his self insert, if only because that makes it seem like it's more for him than for me. Hearing that homeboy dies puts some of those worries out of mind tho. It's good?
>>738941728He’s not the main character at all actually. You just get occasional different povs. It focuses mostly on a loyalist mog squad and their co who pilots a touro or some other bigger mech I forget. It’s a good book. Sheds light on the culture of the loyalists and also takes a look at corvids and spacers a bit too
>>738941929Neat. I'll stomach the initial aversion and give the audiobook a second go then, cheers. Narrator is buttery smooth, I thought it was LEMMiNO at first.

>>738943890novo solo is the planetsolo nobre is like the main city state>>738943725Yeah Eixo is the other city run by a different corporation allegedly. There’s a corvid pilot who was forced in, I believe, because she has family ties to Eixo, so there must be some valuable shit going on there
>>738943890Novo Solo is the planet, Solo Nobre is the cityor vice versa, I honestly don't rememberThat said, for the city to have been worth fucking with by the SNC I agree that it must have been large enough to have not fallen over in one night.
Why isn't sawbuck a rig?
>>738945157Because it's supposed to be as big as a mongoose but it's even more placeholder than the mog right now, it's literally just an untextured cop
>>738945157Because it's supposed to look like this
>>738945431>>738945483oh fuck, alright
>>738945157Sawbuck is an out and out powersuit in Brigador. It's just kind of shitty, and the only thing really notable about it is being one of the oddball examples of Corvid standardization.
>>738928557Because if they put Portuguese on the store banner everyone would think it's some crappy BR game and immediately lose interest.
>>738945157The difference between "rig" and "mech" in the game is generally whether or not it's enclosed. Cinderblock is big enough to be a powersuit but you can get shot in the face while wearing it so that makes it a rig.

>can't heal, can't switch guns, can't get into vehiclesHow is Cinderblock a rig again?
>>738946675it's called cinderblock, it's not supposed to be very useful
>>738946675You can switch guns, you just need to drag them onto the slot. It's not required that you be on the loadout pad. Clunky, but I've had some success with hotswapping Porco and Pen Pal.
>>738946615Hannibal from the original?
>>738946946I don't know that much about the original
>>738946675It can interact with inventories other than the ground, swap equipment outside of the garage and go prone (with hilarious results)
>>738947274the distinction between having to get out and not and things like the loader van using a waldo to fix that is fuckin awesome, honestly one of the most soulful small things I've seen in a game recently
>>738946615the original has an agrav sedan and muscle car iirc, and a nonpilotable sedan on treads too, so i'm sure one of them will make it into this game.
Brigador 1 was, for some reason, really depressing to me.I'm not usually prone to bad moods or even depression etc, but I had to stop playing after like 2 days. Not sure what about the game it was, but it really drags you down.
>>738948286I think that's just you man
>>738948286Is space Brazil too happy for you?
>>738948286I think both games are depressing, esp if you read the books. The first game to me feels exciting at first because you're diving into a new setting, and then that feeling becomes more subdued and then it sinks in that you're completely obliterating the lives of so many innocent people for whatever reason your pilot became a brigador (And there are some sympathetic ones, like the chick we blow up in the demo of bk who had a terminal disease, and a bunch of people who feel the system has failed them in some way) The first book has a nice sense of chaos. It feels disorienting and hopeless from the pov of loyalist grunts. It pairs well with the game. Whenever I come back to this game I have fun blowing shit up, though. But I think when everything is dead and you're roaming around the empty map looking for an exit, you get that sense of loneliness again. The bk book was just overwhelmingly fucking sad but I was also in a bad mood when I read it. It just felt like 'wow you should know your place you fucking genetically broken dirteater, you will never get real revenge on the corporation and you never had a chance.' It was a fun read.
>>738948938yeah I don't give a fuck about the heckin' chonkin' moral issues of what is essentially postal with vehicles. I'm glad the designers do because it helps them give the setting gravitas but I'm just here to mash shit
>>738948938Curious if Hotline Miami gave you a similar feeling once the level was cleared out and the music stopped.
>>738949176For sure, it's a pretty fun game at the end of the day and I'll never let anything stop me from enjoying that. My favorite weapon is probably the pitbull or chuffer, hah.>>738949196It's been a long time since I last played hotline miami 1 and 2, but I don't think I felt that way about either game. I just wanted to kill shit and listen to cool music, and I do feel that way in brigador too on replay. In hotline miami I'm pretty sure you're killing gangsters the entire time so at the time I don't think I felt as bad, but in brigador you get the choice to make extra money by killing innocent civilians and destroying buildings and all the city's infrastructure and the story is a bit different
>>738948286Every Corvid and Loyalist pilot is a deserter being paid by a faceless corp to kill their former brothers in arms and destroy the city they lived it, it's pretty evil.
>>738928431There has to be a more efficient way than playing inventory management puzzle with crates stored inside vehicles and crates outside the ground, and for the love of god when are those BRs adding a keybind to just loot whatever you're hovering over or simply a loot all button?
>>738948286Brigador even on a space banana republic setting is rather a realistic take on the whole problem: the SNC was a piece of shit, the Great Leader while not a saint did manage to make things slightly better for a while and then got too drunk on power.Too many people got dissatisfied and slowly homeland terrorism grew until it became the Corvids, the SNC struck back and Spacers wanted a little fun on the key moment the Great Leader was dead.Plus helps alot when is a rather well written game from someone who knows the real deal.
>>738949176I mean, that's fine if you're only in it for the gameplay, but you don't need to get on other people's cases for engaging with the plot.
>>738948938Yeah but I get paid 50 bucks for each civvie I kill so sorry yellow raincoats but those pennies add up
>>738950095He's not?...
>>738949719>just loot whatever you're hovering overShift click. My main issue with the inventory is transfering things between inventories other than your own. Like if you wanna get something form one crate into another it's a pain. I'd like it if we could open whatever containers we want on both the left and right panel, so instead of the left always having player/driven vehicle inventory you could put the inventory of one crate on one side and the inventory of another on the other and just shiftclick all the stuff over
>>738928557It's one of those space futures where different ethnicities spread to different spheres. Solo Nobre and Mar Nosso are Latin American inspired, but the latter has also Slavic community thanks to the original generation ship heading there. Spacers also have Finnish names quite often, I've noticed.
>>738949527I mean anyone killing people for reasons other than self-defense are probably on the same level morally, I don't really think their loyalties matter
>>738950095funny that you are kinda getting on my case for my opinion, right?
>>738950543>I mean anyone killing people for reasons other than self-defense are probably on the same level morally
>>738950328That would be a good change without fucking up the reasons I assume the inventory system is the way it is.
I made a huge mistake. I got in a shootout with the armored APC with my mog and now it sits at like half health and for some reason I can't repair it- It tells me parts are missing, but according to the parts shown they're all there. Do I have to build a new one or is there a workaround? I remember someone having that problem with other vehicles.
>>738950781Salvage and build a new one, it's the official dev workaround for this bug. You shouldn't lose any parts in the process.
>>738950195This plus hey, civilians are already getting killed but the thousands as collatoral damage in the conflict between the loyalists and corvids so what's the difference if I kill a few hundred more?
>>738950849Welp thanks
Is there more objective variety than the first game?Is the AI better or can you still funnel enemies through choke points and kill them by the dozens while they refuse to fire past a certain distance or through smoke? Is there an actual plot this time instead of just backstory?
>>738948286The setting and concept are really bleak if you think about it for a minute, but the gameplay is really fun.
>>738951021>Is there more objective variety than the first game?I guess.>Is the AI better? No.>Is there an actual plot this time?Yes. The intro is story-driven and will lead into the garage "mode" in the full game. Ain't even close to finished though. The demo is effectively a beta.
>>738951021>Is there more objective varietyNot really, at least from what I've seen so far.>Is the AI betterAbout the same>Is there an actual plot this timeYes actually, for the campaign mode anyway. But in the demo at least the garage has the most content
>>738950781I don't know if that's a specific vehicle issue or what but I've had that same problem on certain models like vans and then not had it on other modes. If I have to guess I might think it's based on damage level, like certain damage tiers don't check for the parts correctly.
>>738951021what the fuck is this child eating
>>738951052I mean if you worked a dead end job in some dictatorship's military/hedonistic spacefaring aristocracy/anarchist revolution and some megacorp offered you lots of cash to blow shit up, I'm pretty sure a lot of people would take up that offer.
>>738951285My nuts
>>738950543>The guy who knows he will likely die but does it for the insurance money, the girl who does it for cash just so she can get get more outlandish body modifications done and the spacer guy that avoids all military assets so he can liquify civilians undisturbed are all the same really
>>738941929The audiobook did get some details wrong. for example the audiobook the audiobook depicts the necropolis as a sort of sacred ground, where those who perished in the original colonization efforts are treated with reverence. In the game though it's basically kind of hang out spot for junkies because there's a species of ivy that grows all over the place that produces flowers with narcotic properties. Also it was the site of a lot of conflict because you had all sorts of grounds keeping and development teams fighting for work in it purely so they could cash in on that sweet sweet drug money.
>>738951021i don't spoonfeed pedophiles
>>738951368made me laugh i fucking forgot about the auditor man if we get to face off agaisnt him or the man from volta, I hope they put up one hell of a struggle. i am wondering now how long the campaign will be since its unrealistic to have one team wipe out all the brigadors. maybe it’ll be sectioned up between various teams of corvids and loyalist povs?
>>738951368It's about the scale of the offense. When your crime is so massive your motivation to do is matters a lot less. This isn't like the question of stealing to survive vs stealing because you're a piece of shit. Once you're making war on people who didn't attack you first I think the question of your motives is rhetorical, something for historians to argue about long after.
>>738951765I'm interested to see how it shapes up as well.
>>738951398Don’t they have a bunch of different necropolises? I thought the one with the drug plants was a specific one and there’s a bunch that are just nornal cemeteries
>>738951398I could overlook most things in the book, even spacers deciding to be grounders, but how the contract is handled was too annoyingIn the game it's heavily suggested the corporation spent months if not longer infiltrating SN and collecting information and Brigadors are the rare few people that they could manipulate in some way. The campaign mission descriptions, variable difficulty levels between pilots and some of them only fighting specific factions also suggested this is all a very controlled operation with operations being adjusted for individual Brigadors based on their skill levelIn the book, they just put it on the Corvid pompadour racing forum and everyone decided to become retarded like it's the purge>>738951498Faggot melty
>>738941728Yeah it's pretty good. Also Hugh isn't the protagonist. He's the main antagonist. He does feel somewhat poorly written though, kind of feels cartoonishly evil. The other characters are pretty well written though. Honestly I wouldn't mind a proper sequel to the original book that gives Kinny, who's more of the main character, a bit more closure. Kroenig too since he becomes one of the most likeable characters by the end but it's probably safe to assume he died given he intended to make a suicidal push towards a Zed Prime
>>738952031lol u mad
>>738951956either way not anymore I bulldozed that shit lol
>>738937159>WELL WHICH ONE IS ITboth can be true at the same time.just like niggers/jeets who think niggers/jeets are subhumans.
>>738952031wouldn’t it make sense to get as many pilots as possible to start killing your enemies or serve as a distraction? rile up the corvids with some ideas of freedom and then mop everything up with brigadors and whatever forces that are actually loyal to you
>>738952031It could be both.Skilled loyalist, corvid, and spacer pilots would probably take either more momey or more specific terms than random goobers. SNC could offer specifc deal with good benefits and carefully constructed terms to top talent while also offering a boilerplate contract and a flat fee to any random shitter who wants to start blowing things up.
>>738948938Honestly the only issue I had with Pilgrim was how anti-climatic the ending was what with the Pilgrim team just unceremoniously getting splattered by a Spacer kill squad.Kind of like the characters' descent from attempting to take the moral high ground by trying (and kind of failing) to avoid civilian casualties to just outright to just basically going "fuck it" and openly killing civilians in the streets just to get to one dude, basically becoming the very people they're trying to kill
>>738928431wait this is all pre-rendered isometric? Those sprite units look so smooth when turning. Those sprite units have ALOT of frames, there must be like a 100 degrees of rotation.Surprised most pre-rendered isometric games use alot more degrees of rotation besides the bare minimum of 8.
Cinderblock is fucking awesome, and if you think it sucks you're not using it right. This thing is literally a chopped down Mog with heelies. You're wearing a Powersuit grade mech and calling it a rig.
>>738952794They make 3d models and render them into sprites, I imagine it's not that hard to get a ton of rotations if you're doing it that way
>>738952808Fuck all health and a crappy weapon mount and no ammo space
>>738952794I think with modern software tools it gets easier, I doubt they are hand drawing every angle unless they are savants or some shit. If it were me I'd render the model and then essentially screenshot it from 100 angles to produce the effect. Not saying it doesn't look awesome or that is bad, but that's gotta be how it's done unless they are some type of auteurs.
>>738952808Yeah but I like the Coffin.
>>738952794adding alot of degrees of rotation dramatically increases the storage size of the game.so most pre-rendered games don't do that.
>>738953128But the first game was still only 1gb...
>>738953128>storage sizethat stopped mattering decades ago, these guys clearly went the extra mile that other developers just didn't want to put the time into
>>738953128storage size? in this day and age?maybe increased ram/gpu usage could be a problem, but actual storage space is definitely not a problem today.I'd say the main reason most games aren't like that is because it's simply too much of a hassle or takes too much time to produce,so might as well just straight use 3d graphics.
>>738952794AI, son
>>738952927honestly they need to let you reload from the ammo drum, otherwise what's the point?

>>738952906Seems like kind of a weird decision really. At that point, why even with sprites? You've already made the models and animations for said models so why not just use the models themselves instead of making hundreds of sprites from said models and animations?

Is this game mission based or open world? Or both like a GTA game?
>>738957035mission based so far, I kinda doubt it will end up being open world, that would be some incredible scope. would be cool, but with the amount of destruction you do every mission the city would be in ruins after like an hour
>>738957035Mission based, although you can leave most missions and return to base whenever you want in garage mode so it's almost more like a hub world.
>>738957035Missions based, but the demo has a campaign where you set up a hub area and then go out on repeatable missions. The final game will probably have something similar. A bunch of campaigns with linear missions and one 'freelance' campaign where you do whatever and build up your garage.
>pinball massacre is the scale of a small brigador map in npcs and building destruction >All the other levels are just shooting rent a cops and if you're lucky, you might encounter the raid level boss of a Sd.Kfz. 234I really hope that the campaign lets us start fighting actual scary vehicles en masse
I just hit 17 hours in the demo, and that's with minimal grinding; just going around taking my time, and I have only just finished Sinkhole after skipping a bunch of missions before that. It's amazing, this feels like a demo of oulde. For comparison: I 100%ed Tomb Raider 2013 in 17 hours, and that has no replay value at all.
>>738957460I imagine it will, the game already zooms out when you get into the loyalist mech that isn't the corvid kitbash
>>738957480Hell yeah I feel the same way. I haven't played a demo this much in decades.
>>738954273Luv me TouroI got the model for it, had never painted a mini before so I thought I would use this as a test run.In hindsight I probably shouldn't have primed white, and shoulda used a darker grey instead of silver.Still need to get a base for him.
>>738957818Nice.
>>738957818Nice, I'm also considering getting some figures but I've never painted anything
I hit a wall pretty early on in the first game but I got a good dozen hours of fun unlock mechs and guns in the freelance mode a while back. Is it worth completing the campaign?
>>738957981The campaign of the first game is mostly just the intro to the freelance mode. Quickly trying out a bunch of preset vehicles is its main benefit.
>>738957981the campaign in the first game is just if you want to try out weird presets and make some cash i guess
>>738957981Only if you want to become cracked. Also, remember that there are a bunch of baby-mode settings in the options that you can use to make the game easier.
>>738957818Jesus Christ anon, please bathe it in isopropanol and start again, those models are way too expensive to use them as test beds. Some protips:Thin your fucking paintsUse white primer ONLY for yellow or if you know what you're doingThin your fucking paintsIf you have shaky hands, brace them against each other and e.g. against your chest. I have a rather bad tremor and that helps.Keep going and keep at it, being a noob is hard, but you will get adequate in no time if you actually try.
>>738948286Because compared to more western settings, Brigador isn't as cut out. No real good or bad. Sure, the Banana Republic world is a dictatorship, but the people "liberating" it aren't there for anything other than a paycheck. And they get payed per kill. The book really hammers in what you're doing with how many dead and mutilated civilians you find. The Sequal isn't any better as with both the game and book, you are playing as a terrorist. You're the old government striking back against the corpos and putting as much pain and fear on the people who "liberated" Solos Nobre. Also in the book the main protagonists mutilate a space on livestream by cutting off pieces of her body one at a time. It's a rare glimpse of actually terrorism from the terrorists point of view where they aren't the actual antagonists of the story.
>>738958060That's entirely untrue. The preset vehicles present specific challenges and I have certainly spent more time trying to beat the levels with the different configs than I have spent in Freelancer mode.
Is this all there's going to be until they decide to put out early access? Or are they updating the demo for next fest in a month
>>738958321They're doing a NextFest demo and then early access after that, I think.
>>738958225>also in the bookwas that the scene where they capture the spacer who calmly tells them they can take him back for a reward only for them to snap his little twig arms and it's only then that he realized he was actually in danger? the book had a lot of fun scenes
>>738958225Which book does that happen ?
>>738958429>>738958438Brigador Killers, which is out on audible and a damn good listen. Also I believe the spacer was a woman.
>>738958225yeah.>>738958429it's the princess spacer chickhttps://brigador.fandom.com/wiki/Aline_Vocc>>738958438the second book. it's pretty much why they get turboraped by spacer kill squad in the end
>>738950542>Solo Nobre and Mar Nosso are Latin American inspired, but the latter has also Slavic community thanks to the original generation ship heading there. Spacers also have Finnish names quite often, I've noticed.Ludo
>>738957818>>738954273I think we're in good hands, boys.I'm hoping for my one true Juke to make it in.Some kind of Spacer Powersuit.

>>738958597>>738958621aw fuck yes new audio book? that explains that audiobook section I see for pilots that I'm pretty sure weren't in the 1st audiobook
>>738958725And Narrated by Ryan Cooper again. His gift of being able to scream and make himself sound legitimately angry is amazing as someone who listens to a lot of audiobooks since I drive a lot.Seriously listen to it. It's an amazing listen.
>>738958621Thank you anon
>>738958225It's a genuinely fantastic romp that goes from "yeah they hurt us, we're going to hurt them back! but we're going to be just!" to "Well, I guess I brought this AKP for a reason."
>>738958725Yep. I only read it, haven't listened to it but I listened to the first book so the narration is probably quite good. Also the cover art.
The chobber agrav looks interesting, basically just a anti grav forklift
>>738958851Then it devolves into "This black hand isn't going to use itself, and I've got all these juicy targets just lined up..."
>>738958621
>>738958947What are these? I like how block-y it is. Weird mobile weapons platform thing. I'm assuming the user stands hanging off the back or sandwiched inbetween?
>>738958947>Agrav segway with a bonesaw and amazon packages as ablative armorfunny

>>738959061Packages/Ammo Cans
>>738959140>Despite all my rage, I am still just a wage in a cage
What are the point of the froggies and the robot cops?
>>738959191Most of the chobbas or whatever they call them are essentially corporate war slaves. They just do killing on the side with a shitty 22. while delivering kung pow between missions.
>>738959171Oh. I was wondering if those were ammo cans but it feels weird to have them up front. Like wheres the armor? Unless this is some budget piece of shit thing>>738959261They drop tasty chips and chassis?
>>738958429That's the first bookHe doesn't even really care that they break his arm, I'm pretty sure he was on turbo cocaine. I don't think they ever really get a rise out of him, he treats it all as a joke right up until he gets blasted in the face by powersuit weaponry.
>>738959308I think it's literally a warehouse vehicle that someone upgunned, I can't imagine the shit is for military purposes unless it's supposed to be for carrying cargo on the battlefieldnow that I say that I bet that's exactly what it is actually
>>738959290The more I learn about the universe of Brigador, the more fucked up it sounds. You got cloned sex slaves, fleets of hyper rich degenerates who go around murdering and torturing normal people just for the fun of it, mega corporations that run entire planets as "optimally" as possible that the populations will fight over nutrient pipelines, or wear paper plates on their face to hide their identity, and consider it a great shame if you lose your paper plater war mask. It's quite the setting, and that audio book they released for the first game was some great stuff. The guy they got to narrate was amazing.
>>738959450It sorta feels like a grungier Incal/Metabarons which is neat
>>738958818niceeeeeeeeeeeee>>738958920booba
>>738959506I never got into metabarons but giminez's art is amazing.
>>738959308>Mar Nossa has hideous mascot traffic robots and frog shaped vending machine bots wheeling around everywhere Why is this setting so surreal
>>738959308Chobbers are basically Brigador's equivalent to Trauma Team from Cyberpaunk, only instead of ambulances they protect/make uber eats and amazon deliveries.I love the gradient of the setting. You've got the wild, high sci-fi, like whatever the fuck Spacers are up to on their planet, you've got an almost comedic, slightly foreboding element of undeath and faith, in James and the Saints. The Existence of Precursor James makes me feel like The Saints are the actual founders and there is either tech, or some cinqo-de-mayo magic in this setting that lets these skeletons walk around. If the Dromon Ring was a set up of the Spacer version of such an entity I think that would be rad, but I'm fairly sure it's just a decoration around the shield emitters and agrav plate.
>>738959668So like the mules from DS?
>>738959625Doesn't china have traffic robots lol. We're not too far off I think :)
>>738928431>both of my favorite vehicles from the first game (fork and betka) were featured in the demo
So this is just the demo, does this mean eventually the game proper will allow us to drive the real warcrime machines? I miss my Mantis, and desire to spread vengeance in twin railgun form.
>twin donkey tuktuk still works Sonic boo can't come soon enough
>>738951021Objectives vary more slightly, particularly extraction with items in hand, traversal, and probably more.Ai SEEMS worse in some respects, but also better. On foot dudes hit the deck which increases survival, and alerts aren't as nasty, and some enemies don't stray from patrols as much, but I Want to say this is for balancing. They don't get baited as much, but you are also using smaller guns, for instance the punny 8mm buzzsaw from first game is actually mud to late game in the demo. Though smoke or distance has always been intentional balancing. There's more plot at least in the mini missions, and better presented as more than text walls>>738959721Sadly I didn't think there's a gutterball though. Dual fired gutterballs were my fucking jam, versatile, strong, but hard to use.
>>738958225>SpoilerSpacers deserve literally everything bad that happens to them tbqhwyf
>>738960749It feels kinda like syndicate/syndicate wars which is super neat My main complaint tho is we don't get hand held mini guns and trench coats
Finally managed to snag some more actuators to turn my panel van into a loader. Also the Nobrelite is a fucking workhorse god damn.I don't know why, but for some reason I never expected small-arms laser in this game>discovered the Cello & Castigor>Found lo-cells the next deployment>mfw I can use Brigador 1 lasers in a pistol-sized package, in both semi and full autoMy dick is so fucking hard right now
>>738960806I bet. Going off that that one spacer girl makes soup out of her own fetuses, they are probably hated by everyone.>>738961214Unfortunately in demo it feels like its functionally not THAT different from a 45 smg or pistol, but I also don't mind strange options. There's also that kinda weird ghetto rail pistol firing ball bearings which I like, just a pipe with magnets, and flinging iron balls at high speed lmao.I'm not even mad theres no flavor text
>>738960943There is a minigun, It's called the Snyer.
>>738963148Haven't found one yet, best i got is a bone saw, which is very good.
>>738962361They're DEFINITELY hated by everyone. They consider land dwellers to be on the level of animals and they delight in cruelty towards them (see: the black hand). The description for the Arlo in Brigador Killers also recounts how packs of the things would just hunt down civilians.
>>738963148Bwuh!?Got to find it asap to relive my Eurocorp fantasies on Mar Nosso
>>738964032Lmao there's also that agrav that has a handful of black hands mounted on the hull
>>738964013>>738964036A good place to look for it is in the hole.
>>738964447I tried the hole and its difficulty variance befundled me. First run I got rushed by a melee mech and punched into a mist, second run it was all chobbers with smgs
>>738957954As a basic bitch Battletech fan it's not hard to do minis. Just do it, don't worry too much about it. Get some basic bitch acrylics and remember to thin your paints and that's all you really need.
>>738965051Or just make it corvid themed with bad paint.
>>738966213All the extra lead makes it booletproof
>>738966230Lead is actually a very soft metal so doubt it. Might help something like a kill dozer hit harder though if you filled in sections with lead though.
>find the Ball Bike>lol lmao cant mount weaponsLame, also I hear there's a Sawbuck somewhere in the levels
>>738966230>spacer tries to hit your party van with a black hand>laugh as it's rendered ineffective due to all the lead paint coating it>Spacers get so pissed off they send a kill squad armed with black hands after you>Plant your hands on your hips, throw back your head, and laugh as their black hands do nothing to you because you've been eating nothing but lead paint chips for the last five years so gamma radiation does nothing to you
>>738966612The Corvid version of Chop shop has one on the east side of the map.
>>738966631God I hope Sequin Parrot gets a cool assassination mission now...
>>738966631Kino
>>738959668wtf am i looking at btw
>>738967405Good question. It's a skull made out of multiple animals and a cloak covering up the body. The black cylinders near the eyes(?) are shield emitters for extra defense. You're somewhere inside(?) all that. Spacers are weird man.
>>738967616Spacers literally made giant agrav heads with laser eyes as a giant glorious psi op. Yes they are fucking weirdHonestly I hope we can make one of those on tank treads
>>738967616funky, must be pretty easy to kill, though. looks relatively small and cramped. also visually reminds me of pic attached
>>738960749>shitty pea shooters are now fucking rape machines purely because the game takes place on a smaller scaleImagine what it's going to be like if they end up including the bigger and nastier weapons like the Harvester, Banshee, or Ploughman. Even better, imagine if they created special death animations for weapons like the blackhand or tubarão gas weapons. Just picture every civilian and enemy infantry in a four block radius getting turned into puddles of goo by a barrage of tubarão gas canisters fired from your ploughman
>>738967859It's got a kind of slow, floaty movement, half the health of the loyalist rig, a shield that doesn't recharge in the field, and has less space for items and ammo. The carmine rig outclasses it in every way.
>>738968304Honestly I hope blackhand and ploughmen didn't simply liquify, but made them kind try to limp away while melting down. Seems more onpar
Any cool secret vehicle or weapon like the garbage truck in the police armory mission?
>>738969159Its only available with the debug menu, but you can fly the arlo.
>>738944404>>738944432My personal theory is that Eixo is run by a separate faction (never controlled by the Great Leader/Loyalists) so already cut a deal with the Solo Nobre Concern before the events of the game started. In other words, the player never finds out about Eixo because SNC has no need for Brigadors to take it over.
>Cleared all the garage missions>Gone ten floors down sinkhole>Put 15 hours inI think I'm done with the demo, but it was fucking great. Can't wait to play the full package.
>>738971732Only 15,? You move fast. I'm at 22 hours but I have been experimenting a lot more.
>>738972075>>738971732Im 27 hours and I went back to play Brigador.
>>738958225>>738958429>>738958597Can anyone please post the second audiobook? Both the audio books arent available in my region but I got the first one from steam.
>>738950781>>738950849If it gets damaged enough, you basically just need to get a new one. Repairing it requires parts that only come from a mog crate. If you disassemble it when its not full health, you don't get all the parts either.

>>738964032The most satisfying thing is whenever someone does beat the Spacers they get so amazingly pissy about it. How dare those soil vermin beat their superiors! Meanwhile the superior is a Corvid whose been huffing diesel fumes while high off his ass on cough medicine to be capable enough to drive their jalopy agrav.
>>738928431Can someone help me?I think Sinkhole is bugged for me. On the first level I walk up to the huge obvious red elevator in the middle and it does nothing. No prompt to interact or anything. None of the entry points let me exit either. Is my game busted or am I missing something?
>>738969068So have them die like that guy from the first Robocop? The one that gets bathed in acid, isn't quite fully melted...then fucking explodes when he gets hit with by car.

Otherwise i would be really fuming.Speaking of controls why is every bike uncontrollable on low speeds? It's like a tracked vehicle with one track stuck on full speed clockwise and the other counter clockwise. "Hey gamer i heard you like the idea of being an action hero on your bike...BEYBLADE BEYBLADE LET IT RIP!"There is some cool potential for the chibimoto as a utility vehicle, it takes up the backpack slot but you CAN carry a bike with you for when you need to move fast suddenly but the loot wagon is too far away.I also consider it unfortunate that the ovo is such a bomb considering it is the most pleasurable vehicle to actually drive (not counting the cutter which is just pure sex for driving in this game).
>>738974653The only good bike is the ball tread.
>>738974653Tbh I love this kinda shit, its extraction shooter shit without dealing with players. I also love this kinda shit from modded openxcom extended, robbing mercs in piratez, stealing guns, using guns to attack nastier guys, lose guns, repeat

>>738968343I thought so as well at first but the Dromon rig lets you equip a heavier weapon than the Carmine. And with the added zoom you do not even have to leave your spawn if you get something that can shoot through walls. And you can drive the hover tank with it.

>>738958225The banana republic angle is more complicated than that>Solo Nobre Concern (SNC) megacorp launches a colonization effort on Novo Solo>colonists wagies are unsurprisingly dissatisfied>Great Leader launches a populist uprising, evicting SNC and establishing an isolationist military dictatorship that brought stability and cracks down hard on crime>but not everyone is a fan of his heavily oppressive rule>Great Leader dies, Solo Nobre falls>anarchist Corvid rebels wage war against Great Leader's Loyalists, while Spacers swoop in like vultures>SNC hires Brigadors to damage and destabilize each faction so they can regain control of Novo Solo
>>738985763Corvids and spacers were there before great leader died iirc, since I think the game takes place on the same night that he dies
Has anybody understood how shields work yet?I did Sinkhole with the Party Van and in the final level I ran over some dude or crushed some Lilliputter and suddenly my shields were replenished, but I don't remember actually seeing any shield orbs.
>>738983308how do you equip your panel van with shield emitter?
>>738985898i think they just reset your shield for that one final level. i literally just finished a sinkhole run where i completely trashed my shield just before entering the last floor. then suddenly when the next level start, that shield is completely restored
>>738928431I don't really understand what this game is, despite seeing tons of threads about it. Is this basically isometric Zoids VS?

>>738985883If I remember, the SNC hired the Spacers as well as the Brigadors to cause as much chaos as possible to make taking the planet easier. When even residential areas had ordnance capable of keep ships out of low orbit, Great leader was determined to keep Novo Solo independent.
>>738987341Wouldn't make much sense why we fight spacers so often though. I thought it was that spacers were there trading tech or something
>>738987341Wasn't just chaos, but breaking orbital guns to allow landing of other crafts. Spacers seem to be implied not to even show til later at least in higher quantities, because the grid was up.
>>738987470Spacers are insane on a good day, it's likely they knew they would be fighting other SNC forces and wanted the challenge. That, and the chance to indiscriminately murder civilians must've been too good to pass up.
>>738987721I really, really hope we get a mission to let us try to kill a full sided mech with laws. Just tons of laws, which barely kill an apc, and keep shoving them up a touros ass till it dies.I gotta admit, while its hard, hunting bigger shit on foot is a thrill. The little sawn off 8mm black cat works great, at least if the turret doesn't see you
I have found like a million RPG grenades, but not a single launcher. Is there a special weapon that fires them or do I really need to find the fucking tube?
>>738988267Just an rpgA bunch of corvids carry them in the cinderblock mission
>>738988267If you go to Posodochny, about 1/4 of the cops have the RPGs that use them.
>>738988267Ive found one ONCE in the shoreline mission, as it occasionally spawns in weapon boxes, but yes, otherwise they are a bitch to find. They also wreck anything basically if you get shot, so taking them from dead enemies is horrifying.
>>738988267posadochny my nigga, free tubes for days
Where the hell do I find treads? Sinkhole?

I don’t think he ever figured on the Brünhilde raining down cluster munitions on his own city.
>>738990106Could be that he planned to trade while the spacers just wanted to raid the place and used the trading as an excuse to bypass the orbital cannons
>>738987470If I remember the timeline right, it went>Great leader has contacts with Spacers beforehand for various imports and shenanigans>Spacer contingent already present in Solo Nobre to upgrade loyalist military (potentially why SNC sprung when they did, to pre-empt it)>Spacers work with SNC on the night Great Leader dies>But then a local client, who absolutely hates Spacers, offers SNC more than the Spacers did for the Brigadors to remove them from his neighborhood
>>738990217Makes some wonder if we'll get spacer pilots who want to get revenge on the SNC
How tf am I supposed to approach the police raid level. I got scared off FAST and barely escaped with my upgunned van. Do I need a tank??

What's the best garage map for farming dosh? Is there even a sell button to get rid of junk? Either I can't find it or it's poorly explained in a single line in the tutorial I might've accidentally glossed over.
>>738991409The police elimination one has 2.5 grand in a crate but it's guarded by a 8mm machine gun apcThe missions where you have to kill civvies and blow up the EVs is also good since suited civvies drop a 100 each
>>738991512>but it's guarded by a 8mm machine gun apcWhuuut? I only ever had a Porco apc

>>738990461You definitely want at least a power suit with at least a bonesaw with like 2k rounds but preferably a cut .50 with a couple hundred and some LAWs, RPGs or a carl gustav for the APCs. It's the ultimate challenge of the demo and it doesn't really have great loot so there's no reason not to go in kitted for full murder.

>>738931798>>738983308I thought Brigador was a mech game. This looks like GTA with Twisted Metal vehicles.
>>738994126It's both
>>738994126It's an isometric vehicle action game, with some stealth elements as well. You drive mechs, tanks, anti-grav vehicles, and power armor. In Brigador shit like tuk-tuks and power armor are on the weaker side of things when compared to fucking giant face that shoots lasers out of its eyes and launches poison gas that melts builds and people to goop. In Brigador Killers, those same power armor can be a nightmare because you're not stomping around in a military grade mech.
Holy fuck having the party van is SUCH a jump in power. I can ram buildings down, i can mount decent guns, and even a 762 machine gun actually fires steady now. VERY WORTH IT!!!
>>738994309now buy any crate item from the merchant to get 5k extra storage on it and you've got the most well rounded vehicle in the demo
>>738994482If only it was also a loader...
>>738994676Yeah, only downside is looting is objectively worse, I'm definitely keeping A upgunned van just for milk runs. Also I'm discovering apcs REALLY aren't that bad if you effectively ambush, that little sawn off black cat rifle can really fuck them up if you mag dump them with it in the back from close range. A scary prospect but viable.
>>738994849An upgunned van works but I prefer a loader van with a mog in the back. Downside is you gotta get out and into a mog to fight, but the mog has way more fire power than the upgunned van does
>>738994482>most well rounded vehicle in the demomore like the best vehicle in the game right now. firepower is strong enough scrap every type of enemies you can encounter, and most importantly you have the broken as fuck large crate slot (betka is technically a better tank but it have 0 cargo capacity so what the fuck is the point)
>>738994676wdym it's not a loader? it literally can carry large crates and powersuits/small vehicles
>>738995010>what the fuck is the pointFunny tank go dakka dakka dakka. But in more practical terms, the betka is good for doing vandenberg and sinkhole runs to farm cash, I think that's faster than raiding the police depot and selling the ammo and yes I know about the infinite money merchant exploit but you might as well use the debug console to give yourself cash at that point
>>738995073Loader vehicles can loot containers while you're inside the vehicle. Which speeds up looting immensely.
>>738995010For me, the biggest pro of the Party Van is that you can use it with the carmine rig, Betka's too small to fit that powersuit. Betka's probably better if you just want to stay in the tank and never leave unless the coast is clear, but I like the extra flexibility
>>738995285I like to go out in the starter rig in suits and heavy vehicles, the idea being that if you kill my coffin I deserve to die in it.
>>738995403Yeah I feel like the loyalist rig is well balanced in that way. You're way squishier but you need it to pilot the best combat vehicles. BTW the devs said that being able to pilot the rounder in the carmine rig is unintended, so don't get used to that.
Alright, almost 20 hours in and I have done every mission.Holy shit the Party Van with adequate weaponry is so powerful it's not even funny.Sarissa + RPG mount deletes EVERYTHING.Posadochny was basically a cakewalk, I expected worse from what anons were saying. Had a few close calls from RPG popo, but they never hit before I gibbed them. But I am wondering: Is there a SPECIFIC "package" I can find there or is it just flavor text? I didn't find anything special in any crate I checked; in fact I didn't even find anything good.
Can I only sell the same items that the merchant is selling?
>>738996069Yes
>>738994985Literally why NOT upgunned van??? It's just loader with a turret, isn't it???>>738996069For now, yes. The police armory work's good though, as you can sell high grade ammo, which I'm not even sure if you can use it all anyways
>>738996282Because loader van gets you 2 large slots + 1 small, compared to upgunned only giving 1 large + 1 small. If you pack a Mog in the loader van, it's basically the best of both worlds, you have both a fuckton of storage, and a heavy suit to melt enemies with (also the mog doesn't suffer accuracy penalties)
>>738996282A non-upgunned loader van has 2 large slots, so you can bring a powersuit and a big crate. Whereas with the upgunned van you can only bring the crate and have to rely on the van's weapons, which aren't as good as the mongoose's
>>738996459I guess, though it's hard to let go of having a rooftop lmg
nigga why the FUCK are hi cell ammo so fucking heavy? i thought the entire point of energy weapons in-universe is because spacers wanted ultralight systems that's easy to transport on and off world
Where do I get a zweihander/zweiweenie
>>738939596I wonder how the masked skeleton will be handled given that even the screen view of the Brigador we are given is speculated to be fabricated.
>>738995956Just flavor text like with all of the other salvage missions that mention a package. At least in the first salvage mission with such a description, it's purpose is to tell you where the crates can spawn, don't remember if the description in Posadochny gives you any specific locations.
>>738998505My best guess for skeletons would be that they were connected to their mech with a cranial jack when they died and their mind remained there.
>>738997830I was wondering about the utility of this thing, then I paired it with the Dromon. It's a pistol with sniper rifle range and accuracy, it's just that it's still just popping nines.>>738998481I found one in a small crate on chop shop next to the elevator. You need to get lucky.

Is it not possible to sell items to the merchant that don't fit in your personal inventory? I have an e-engine large that I'm trying to sell, but no configuration of it being in the truck, the ground, or the box seems to work and it's far too heavy to pick up myself.

I think gameplay-wise it's more fun to be able to put shit together however you like and scavenge from the field. I do wonder if the story missions will be less about making your own wacky terrorist party van and be more about preset loadouts like the first game, so there's a balance of pure run and gun vs collecting stuff and then run and gun.

>>739014706There's one 7.62 APC in vandenberg as well, not safe without something to take it out unless you're a real clever motherfucker. However with an RPG you can farm the cash and get two machine guns and a ton of ammo every run.

>>739014241I would be disappointed if the terrorist campaign doesn't let you build up shit. I can understand if your hideout gets raided and you lose shit or whatever and story missions where you have whatever on you and get caught out in public by the cops, but comon the whole fun of an insurgency is stealing enemy supplies and using them. They even have the Liberator in the game, literally purpose made for insurgents to one click an enemy sentry and upgun.
>>739016898There's also that fuckin' garbage 4 shot 357 derringer from real life, what a meme
>>739014914>>739015802You can get a guaranteed cut 50 and a bunch of ammo from the corvid variant of the chop shop mission pretty early on.Bring the .50 cal rifle and a handful of ammo (guaranteed drops from a certain cop in the dealership mission) and just snipe the guy in the loyalist powersuit on the right side of the map. It takes a decent amount of shots to take him out, but he doesn't ever try to close in on you while you do it.Once you have the cut 50 APCs don't stand a chance against you.

>>739017798One of those things almost fucking killed me yesterday, I unloaded a Rhino Stopper mag into him in a panic after his ramming brought me down to like 7 HP.Also at what point/mission should I be getting armor? Being a 20 HP paper towel feels rather unsafe.
>>739020912One of the mid tier missions mentions getting a carmine rig from a sniper, that's the one that gets you the next tier of armor. The carmine rig weighs 300 and you'll want a decent amount of firepower to tackle the enemies in the mission.
>>739020912You get armor from the Wilderness level. So far this is where most people hit the first roadblock, lest they found explosives in Shoreline. My advice: Do Kolchak Park first, it's piss easy and it has a big crate in a courtyard with guaranteed cool stuff - I got a bunch of LAWs and thermobaric grenades several times in a row. Also protip for Wilderness: go around north
>>7390202420%
Is the game finally an actual twin stick shooter?
>>739021151No, thank god
>>739021067>My advice: Do Kolchak Park firstAlternatively do this >>739017086
>>739020912Missions where you can get a new rig are labeled as recovery or something like that.Wilderness is the first one and gets you the most generalist rig, warning it's a trial by APCs.
Apparently this is how to recharge shields at the moment, if anyone is unsure
>>739021249On missions that have multiple stages you can also power down your shields before going through a loading screen and then power them up again in the new area and they'll be full. Probably unintended but hey as long as it works
>>739021232The problem with the cut fiddy is that you still need to expose yourself, which is bad at 20HP. Grenades can be thrown from cover. Especially that FUCK patrolling around the parking lot and the asshole in the courtyard become way more bearable if you don't have to play grab-ass while they tickle you to death.
>>739021249Uhm, the what button now?It really works, fuck me I'm retarded
>>739021067>>739021232>>739021332My strategy was zero risk but more tricky>go in naked (maybe with a medkit from the suitcase)>get the van above the gas station>kick a hole in the fence up north and beeline it to the gated area with the apc and ammo crate (the gate lowers for all vehicles, including your van)>park the van behind the apc, get out and hide behind it, once the apc loses sight of you it'll usually get out of the enclosed area and often get stuck on the rock outside or on a wall>you now have time to loot the crate there which will often have decent weapons, use them to clear a path to the suit and use the van to carry it out
>>739021332You can slap the cut 50 on an upgunned panel van. It takes down APCs with just a short burst and infantry in one shot. It's not accurate, but if you tap the trigger to squirt out one round at a time it'll do a lot of work for you and is very ammo efficient. Against APCs you can use the panel van's speed to swoop in on their rear armor and squeeze a burst right into their ass, which usually does them in before their turret can even traverse onto you. Even if you just have to bum rush them head on though you'll still take them out real quick.
Is it normal for big fucking crates with big fucking guns to spawn on literally second mission? How am I even supposed to take it home?
>>739021067I just used an armored up-gunned panel van with 80ish rounds in a potbelly to take out a couple apcs. Once I ran out of ammo I used the apcs themselves to wipe out the infantry and then grabbed one of those penpal rifles and an mp5 to take out a couple apcs by running around them like some looney tunes shit. After that I almost died and had to run away in my van
>>739021787It's normal. You got a van right there, it should be enough to take all that.
>>739021787Yeah, it happens sometimes with those salvage missions. The panel van next to you should have more than enough space to load all that stuff.
>>739021787Get ready to use Kalastaja to fuck everything.

>>739021879>>739021905Yea the van fit all the loot but now when I scrapped it all the loot just spilled out instead of being deposited, and now I can't deposit the big stuff manually.
>>739022318You should be able to rebuild the van
Well, that's another reason thread at post limit, damn. Is there any way to charge shields mid mission??
>>739022318Lol that is unfortunate. Although if you scrapped it you should have gotten the parts to build it, unless it was damaged enough.
>>739022427Only >>739021305

Currently sifting through dev levels using the console. Seems like there is going to be a good deal more powersuits/rigs in the future. Mechs, hard to tell. There is a fork with a chobber car as a upper. And the killdoser in some of these debug levels. Will report back with more findings.
>>739022569The fork with the car upper is in the demo. I think it would be really out of touch if they had only a small amount of mechs in their mech game sequel.
