Repostan because last thread was at the bump limit.
What's your favorite gun? I have a lot of fun with the shotguns but they do feel kinda underwhelming for actual firefights.
>>
>>738928557
It's cool
>>
>>738928845
Kalastaja is probably my favorite handheld gun, for vehicle mounts it's the belter or the kursi if the mount is too small
>>
The demo is very good, hopefully we won't have to wait too long for the full version but then again they should take their time and make it as good as it can be
>>
>>738928845
Its objectively kinda shitty, but I really like the fucking wild cat pistol. I mean its powerful and compact, but everything else sucks. I'd lowkey love a boss fight against a mongoose with just this. Basically a fucking musket

I feel like the next update we're getting on this is gonna be 3 years from now
>>
>>738929223
I doubt that. Feels like a lot of the core is there, just not assets yet.

Also dear good I'd give my left nut if I could play through brigador 1 campaign with the gameplay of killers. Please fucking god brigador people, let this be possible, you have no idea.

Okay, that was pretty fun.

This probably isn’t the reason, but Brazil actually does have a notable Japanese-descended population.

spacers for sure, i'm guessing there's going to either be different clans or just one of them to deal with? like clade vocc in the book

also faber? I think they were in the book and they got their asses kicked because they were caught off guard, or maybe I'm thinking of nospol. The newsletters talk about them and there's a track in the ost named after them: "Recently, he's been building out vehicles for the Faber faction, which is a security group active on Mar Nosso"

Kind of annoys me to. I guess it's cyberpunk and matches the vibe or whatever, but the game has nothing to do with Japan or Japanese culture. One of the reasons I like the setting so much is because of how distinctly unique it is, and how confident the creators is in portraying it. But the moon runes don't fit into any of that, and I wonder how much it's there for purely marketing purposes. Like he knows that sort of thing will attract more eyes.
>>
>>738937903

>>
>>738937995
When? I played the hell out of the first game and read both the books. It's all very South American or globohomo when the corpos get involved. And the spacers are their own wacky thing; like Battletech Clanners dialed to one-hundred.
I'd honestly love to see a Japan themed faction though. Everything is so skewed in this setting, there's a lot of room for both parody and genuinely awesome mech homages.

>Do they say that anywhere?
>Well no, but he's still in the credits, they didn't memory hole his entire existence
They fired him dude. You're shilling the game. If they don't say anywhere that they hired him back after making him issue a really public apology where he endorses chopping your dick off, he's fired. It's not a joke.

It's woke slop. If you're a shill, and you want my money, say "Oh no we were just kidding don't cut your dicks off we never fired/ re-hired the guy." in a public capacity. I'm not going to believe an anonymous inside source.

Amusingly I wanted the first game to have more infantry stuff but that ended up being the sequel. Also I was not expecting the vehicle building, but it turns out that’s kind of the perfect mech game right there, so it’s possible killers will satisfy both my desire for infantry and mech in this setting

I bounced off the first book early because I thought Hugh being the protagonist meant it was going to be some dev wish fulfillment bullshit. I wish it didn't star his self insert, if only because that makes it seem like it's more for him than for me. Hearing that homeboy dies puts some of those worries out of mind tho. It's good?
>>
>>738941728
He’s not the main character at all actually. You just get occasional different povs. It focuses mostly on a loyalist mog squad and their co who pilots a touro or some other bigger mech I forget. It’s a good book. Sheds light on the culture of the loyalists and also takes a look at corvids and spacers a bit too

Sawbuck is an out and out powersuit in Brigador. It's just kind of shitty, and the only thing really notable about it is being one of the oddball examples of Corvid standardization.

Because if they put Portuguese on the store banner everyone would think it's some crappy BR game and immediately lose interest.
>>
>>738945157
The difference between "rig" and "mech" in the game is generally whether or not it's enclosed. Cinderblock is big enough to be a powersuit but you can get shot in the face while wearing it so that makes it a rig.

>>738946615
the original has an agrav sedan and muscle car iirc, and a nonpilotable sedan on treads too, so i'm sure one of them will make it into this game.

Brigador 1 was, for some reason, really depressing to me.
I'm not usually prone to bad moods or even depression etc, but I had to stop playing after like 2 days. Not sure what about the game it was, but it really drags you down.
>>
>>738948286
I think that's just you man
>>
>>738948286
Is space Brazil too happy for you?
>>
>>738948286
I think both games are depressing, esp if you read the books. The first game to me feels exciting at first because you're diving into a new setting, and then that feeling becomes more subdued and then it sinks in that you're completely obliterating the lives of so many innocent people for whatever reason your pilot became a brigador (And there are some sympathetic ones, like the chick we blow up in the demo of bk who had a terminal disease, and a bunch of people who feel the system has failed them in some way) The first book has a nice sense of chaos. It feels disorienting and hopeless from the pov of loyalist grunts. It pairs well with the game. Whenever I come back to this game I have fun blowing shit up, though. But I think when everything is dead and you're roaming around the empty map looking for an exit, you get that sense of loneliness again.

The bk book was just overwhelmingly fucking sad but I was also in a bad mood when I read it. It just felt like 'wow you should know your place you fucking genetically broken dirteater, you will never get real revenge on the corporation and you never had a chance.' It was a fun read.
>>
>>738948938
yeah I don't give a fuck about the heckin' chonkin' moral issues of what is essentially postal with vehicles. I'm glad the designers do because it helps them give the setting gravitas but I'm just here to mash shit
>>
>>738948938
Curious if Hotline Miami gave you a similar feeling once the level was cleared out and the music stopped.
>>
>>738949176
For sure, it's a pretty fun game at the end of the day and I'll never let anything stop me from enjoying that. My favorite weapon is probably the pitbull or chuffer, hah.
>>738949196
It's been a long time since I last played hotline miami 1 and 2, but I don't think I felt that way about either game. I just wanted to kill shit and listen to cool music, and I do feel that way in brigador too on replay. In hotline miami I'm pretty sure you're killing gangsters the entire time so at the time I don't think I felt as bad, but in brigador you get the choice to make extra money by killing innocent civilians and destroying buildings and all the city's infrastructure and the story is a bit different
>>
>>738948286
Every Corvid and Loyalist pilot is a deserter being paid by a faceless corp to kill their former brothers in arms and destroy the city they lived it, it's pretty evil.
>>
>>738928431
There has to be a more efficient way than playing inventory management puzzle with crates stored inside vehicles and crates outside the ground, and for the love of god when are those BRs adding a keybind to just loot whatever you're hovering over or simply a loot all button?
>>
>>738948286
Brigador even on a space banana republic setting is rather a realistic take on the whole problem: the SNC was a piece of shit, the Great Leader while not a saint did manage to make things slightly better for a while and then got too drunk on power.
Too many people got dissatisfied and slowly homeland terrorism grew until it became the Corvids, the SNC struck back and Spacers wanted a little fun on the key moment the Great Leader was dead.
Plus helps alot when is a rather well written game from someone who knows the real deal.
>>
>>738949176
I mean, that's fine if you're only in it for the gameplay, but you don't need to get on other people's cases for engaging with the plot.
>>
>>738948938
Yeah but I get paid 50 bucks for each civvie I kill so sorry yellow raincoats but those pennies add up
>>
>>738950095
He's not?...
>>
>>738949719
>just loot whatever you're hovering over
Shift click. My main issue with the inventory is transfering things between inventories other than your own. Like if you wanna get something form one crate into another it's a pain. I'd like it if we could open whatever containers we want on both the left and right panel, so instead of the left always having player/driven vehicle inventory you could put the inventory of one crate on one side and the inventory of another on the other and just shiftclick all the stuff over
>>
>>738928557
It's one of those space futures where different ethnicities spread to different spheres. Solo Nobre and Mar Nosso are Latin American inspired, but the latter has also Slavic community thanks to the original generation ship heading there. Spacers also have Finnish names quite often, I've noticed.
>>
>>738949527

I made a huge mistake. Is there more objective variety than the first game?
Is the AI better or can you still funnel enemies through choke points and kill them by the dozens while they refuse to fire past a certain distance or through smoke?
Is there an actual plot this time instead of just backstory?
>>
>>738948286
The setting and concept are really bleak if you think about it for a minute, but the gameplay is really fun.
>>
>>738951021
>Is there more objective variety than the first game?
I guess.
>Is the AI better?
No.
>Is there an actual plot this time?
Yes. The intro is story-driven and will lead into the garage "mode" in the full game.

Ain't even close to finished though. The demo is effectively a beta.
>>
>>738951021
>Is there more objective variety
Not really, at least from what I've seen so far.

About the same
>Is there an actual plot this time
Yes actually, for the campaign mode anyway. But in the demo at least the garage has the most content
>>
>>738950781
I don't know if that's a specific vehicle issue or what but I've had that same problem on certain models like vans and then not had it on other modes. If I have to guess I might think it's based on damage level, like certain damage tiers don't check for the parts correctly.

The audiobook did get some details wrong. for example the audiobook the audiobook depicts the necropolis as a sort of sacred ground, where those who perished in the original colonization efforts are treated with reverence.
In the game though it's basically kind of hang out spot for junkies because there's a species of ivy that grows all over the place that produces flowers with narcotic properties. Also it was the site of a lot of conflict because you had all sorts of grounds keeping and development teams fighting for work in it purely so they could cash in on that sweet sweet drug money.

>>
>>738951368
It's about the scale of the offense. When your crime is so massive your motivation to do is matters a lot less. This isn't like the question of stealing to survive vs stealing because you're a piece of shit. Once you're making war on people who didn't attack you first I think the question of your motives is rhetorical, something for historians to argue about long after.

I could overlook most things in the book, even spacers deciding to be grounders, but how the contract is handled was too annoying
In the game it's heavily suggested the corporation spent months if not longer infiltrating SN and collecting information and Brigadors are the rare few people that they could manipulate in some way. The campaign mission descriptions, variable difficulty levels between pilots and some of them only fighting specific factions also suggested this is all a very controlled operation with operations being adjusted for individual Brigadors based on their skill level
In the book, they just put it on the Corvid pompadour racing forum and everyone decided to become retarded like it's the purge

Yeah it's pretty good.
Also Hugh isn't the protagonist. He's the main antagonist. He does feel somewhat poorly written though, kind of feels cartoonishly evil. The other characters are pretty well written though. Honestly I wouldn't mind a proper sequel to the original book that gives Kinny, who's more of the main character, a bit more closure.
Kroenig too since he becomes one of the most likeable characters by the end but it's probably safe to assume he died given he intended to make a suicidal push towards a Zed Prime

wouldn’t it make sense to get as many pilots as possible to start killing your enemies or serve as a distraction? rile up the corvids with some ideas of freedom and then mop everything up with brigadors and whatever forces that are actually loyal to you
>>
>>738952031
It could be both.
Skilled loyalist, corvid, and spacer pilots would probably take either more momey or more specific terms than random goobers. SNC could offer specifc deal with good benefits and carefully constructed terms to top talent while also offering a boilerplate contract and a flat fee to any random shitter who wants to start blowing things up.
>>
>>738948938
Honestly the only issue I had with Pilgrim was how anti-climatic the ending was what with the Pilgrim team just unceremoniously getting splattered by a Spacer kill squad.
Kind of like the characters' descent from attempting to take the moral high ground by trying (and kind of failing) to avoid civilian casualties to just outright to just basically going "fuck it" and openly killing civilians in the streets just to get to one dude, basically becoming the very people they're trying to kill
>>
>>738928431
wait this is all pre-rendered isometric?
Those sprite units look so smooth when turning.
Those sprite units have ALOT of frames, there must be like a 100 degrees of rotation.
Surprised most pre-rendered isometric games use alot more degrees of rotation besides the bare minimum of 8.
>>
Cinderblock is fucking awesome, and if you think it sucks you're not using it right.

This thing is literally a chopped down Mog with heelies. You're wearing a Powersuit grade mech and calling it a rig.
>>
>>738952794
They make 3d models and render them into sprites, I imagine it's not that hard to get a ton of rotations if you're doing it that way
>>
>>738952808
Fuck all health and a crappy weapon mount and no ammo space
>>
>>738952794
I think with modern software tools it gets easier, I doubt they are hand drawing every angle unless they are savants or some shit. If it were me I'd render the model and then essentially screenshot it from 100 angles to produce the effect. Not saying it doesn't look awesome or that is bad, but that's gotta be how it's done unless they are some type of auteurs.
>>
>>738952808
Yeah but I like the Coffin.
>>
>>738952794
adding alot of degrees of rotation dramatically increases the storage size of the game.
so most pre-rendered games don't do that.
>>
>>738953128
But the first game was still only 1gb...
>>
>>738953128
>storage size
that stopped mattering decades ago, these guys clearly went the extra mile that other developers just didn't want to put the time into
>>
>>738953128
storage size? in this day and age?

maybe increased ram/gpu usage could be a problem,
but actual storage space is definitely not a problem today.

I'd say the main reason most games aren't like that is because it's simply too much of a hassle or takes too much time to produce,
so might as well just straight use 3d graphics.

Seems like kind of a weird decision really. At that point, why even with sprites? You've already made the models and animations for said models so why not just use the models themselves instead of making hundreds of sprites from said models and animations?

Is this game mission based or open world? Or both like a GTA game?
>>
>>738957035
mission based so far, I kinda doubt it will end up being open world, that would be some incredible scope. would be cool, but with the amount of destruction you do every mission the city would be in ruins after like an hour
>>
>>738957035
Mission based, although you can leave most missions and return to base whenever you want in garage mode so it's almost more like a hub world.
>>
>>738957035
Missions based, but the demo has a campaign where you set up a hub area and then go out on repeatable missions.

The final game will probably have something similar. A bunch of campaigns with linear missions and one 'freelance' campaign where you do whatever and build up your garage.
>>
>pinball massacre is the scale of a small brigador map in npcs and building destruction
>All the other levels are just shooting rent a cops and if you're lucky, you might encounter the raid level boss of a Sd.Kfz. 234

I just hit 17 hours in the demo, and that's with minimal grinding; just going around taking my time, and I have only just finished Sinkhole after skipping a bunch of missions before that.
It's amazing, this feels like a demo of oulde.

>>
>>738957981
The campaign of the first game is mostly just the intro to the freelance mode. Quickly trying out a bunch of preset vehicles is its main benefit.
>>
>>738957981
the campaign in the first game is just if you want to try out weird presets and make some cash i guess

Thin your fucking paints
If you have shaky hands, brace them against each other and e.g. against your chest. I have a rather bad tremor and that helps.

Because compared to more western settings, Brigador isn't as cut out. No real good or bad. Sure, the Banana Republic world is a dictatorship, but the people "liberating" it aren't there for anything other than a paycheck. And they get payed per kill. The book really hammers in what you're doing with how many dead and mutilated civilians you find.
The Sequal isn't any better as with both the game and book, you are playing as a terrorist. You're the old government striking back against the corpos and putting as much pain and fear on the people who "liberated" Solos Nobre.

Also in the book the main protagonists mutilate a space on livestream by cutting off pieces of her body one at a time. It's a rare glimpse of actually terrorism from the terrorists point of view where they aren't the actual antagonists of the story.
>>
>>738958060
That's entirely untrue.
The preset vehicles present specific challenges and I have certainly spent more time trying to beat the levels with the different configs than I have spent in Freelancer mode.

The more I learn about the universe of Brigador, the more fucked up it sounds. You got cloned sex slaves, fleets of hyper rich degenerates who go around murdering and torturing normal people just for the fun of it, mega corporations that run entire planets as "optimally" as possible that the populations will fight over nutrient pipelines, or wear paper plates on their face to hide their identity, and consider it a great shame if you lose your paper plater war mask. It's quite the setting, and that audio book they released for the first game was some great stuff. The guy they got to narrate was amazing.

Chobbers are basically Brigador's equivalent to Trauma Team from Cyberpaunk, only instead of ambulances they protect/make uber eats and amazon deliveries.

I love the gradient of the setting. You've got the wild, high sci-fi, like whatever the fuck Spacers are up to on their planet, you've got an almost comedic, slightly foreboding element of undeath and faith, in James and the Saints. The Existence of Precursor James makes me feel like The Saints are the actual founders and there is either tech, or some cinqo-de-mayo magic in this setting that lets these skeletons walk around. If the Dromon Ring was a set up of the Spacer version of such an entity I think that would be rad, but I'm fairly sure it's just a decoration around the shield emitters and agrav plate.

Objectives vary more slightly, particularly extraction with items in hand, traversal, and probably more.
Ai SEEMS worse in some respects, but also better. On foot dudes hit the deck which increases survival, and alerts aren't as nasty, and some enemies don't stray from patrols as much, but I Want to say this is for balancing. They don't get baited as much, but you are also using smaller guns, for instance the punny 8mm buzzsaw from first game is actually mud to late game in the demo. Though smoke or distance has always been intentional balancing.

There's more plot at least in the mini missions, and better presented as more than text walls

Good thing i did all missions, and tried a living off the land attack (basic armor + medkit+binoculars from the briefcase + stealth and scavenging on the mission) on everything but Sinkhole and Posadochny. Otherwise i would be really fuming.
Speaking of controls why is every bike uncontrollable on low speeds? It's like a tracked vehicle with one track stuck on full speed clockwise and the other counter clockwise. "Hey gamer i heard you like the idea of being an action hero on your bike...BEYBLADE BEYBLADE LET IT RIP!"
There is some cool potential for the chibimoto as a utility vehicle, it takes up the backpack slot but you CAN carry a bike with you for when you need to move fast suddenly but the loot wagon is too far away.
I also consider it unfortunate that the ovo is such a bomb considering it is the most pleasurable vehicle to actually drive (not counting the cutter which is just pure sex for driving in this game).

If I remember, the SNC hired the Spacers as well as the Brigadors to cause as much chaos as possible to make taking the planet easier. When even residential areas had ordnance capable of keep ships out of low orbit, Great leader was determined to keep Novo Solo independent.
>>
>>738987341
Wouldn't make much sense why we fight spacers so often though. I thought it was that spacers were there trading tech or something
>>
>>738987341
Wasn't just chaos, but breaking orbital guns to allow landing of other crafts. Spacers seem to be implied not to even show til later at least in higher quantities, because the grid was up.
>>
>>738987470
Spacers are insane on a good day, it's likely they knew they would be fighting other SNC forces and wanted the challenge. That, and the chance to indiscriminately murder civilians must've been too good to pass up.
>>
>>738987721
I really, really hope we get a mission to let us try to kill a full sided mech with laws. Just tons of laws, which barely kill an apc, and keep shoving them up a touros ass till it dies.

The description for the Brunhilde says the spacers already had forces on the ground before the long night started and speculates great leader was planning on buying tech from them.
>Intel suggests the Spacers already had a contingent on the ground on the outskirts of Solo Nobre just prior to this whole thing starting, which leads me to believe that Great Leader was looking to cut a deal to upgrade his military with Spacer tech. I don’t think he ever figured on the Brünhilde raining down cluster munitions on his own city.
>>
>>738990106
Could be that he planned to trade while the spacers just wanted to raid the place and used the trading as an excuse to bypass the orbital cannons
>>
>>738987470
If I remember the timeline right, it went
>Great leader has contacts with Spacers beforehand for various imports and shenanigans
>Spacer contingent already present in Solo Nobre to upgrade loyalist military (potentially why SNC sprung when they did, to pre-empt it)
>Spacers work with SNC on the night Great Leader dies

>>
>>738994126
It's both
>>
>>738994126
It's an isometric vehicle action game, with some stealth elements as well. You drive mechs, tanks, anti-grav vehicles, and power armor. In Brigador shit like tuk-tuks and power armor are on the weaker side of things when compared to fucking giant face that shoots lasers out of its eyes and launches poison gas that melts builds and people to goop. In Brigador Killers, those same power armor can be a nightmare because you're not stomping around in a military grade mech.
>>

>>738994309
now buy any crate item from the merchant to get 5k extra storage on it and you've got the most well rounded vehicle in the demo
>>
>>738994482
If only it was also a loader...
>>
>>738994676
Yeah, only downside is looting is objectively worse, I'm definitely keeping A upgunned van just for milk runs.

Also I'm discovering apcs REALLY aren't that bad if you effectively ambush, that little sawn off black cat rifle can really fuck them up if you mag dump them with it in the back from close range. A scary prospect but viable.
>>
>>738994849
An upgunned van works but I prefer a loader van with a mog in the back. Downside is you gotta get out and into a mog to fight, but the mog has way more fire power than the upgunned van does
>>
>>738994482
>most well rounded vehicle in the demo
more like the best vehicle in the game right now. firepower is strong enough scrap every type of enemies you can encounter, and most importantly you have the broken as fuck large crate slot (betka is technically a better tank but it have 0 cargo capacity so what the fuck is the point)
>>
>>738994676
wdym it's not a loader? it literally can carry large crates and powersuits/small vehicles
>>
>>738995010
>what the fuck is the point
Funny tank go dakka dakka dakka.
But in more practical terms, the betka is good for doing vandenberg and sinkhole runs to farm cash, I think that's faster than raiding the police depot and selling the ammo and yes I know about the infinite money merchant exploit but you might as well use the debug console to give yourself cash at that point
>>
>>738995073
Loader vehicles can loot containers while you're inside the vehicle. Which speeds up looting immensely.
>>
>>738995010
For me, the biggest pro of the Party Van is that you can use it with the carmine rig, Betka's too small to fit that powersuit. Betka's probably better if you just want to stay in the tank and never leave unless the coast is clear, but I like the extra flexibility
>>
>>738995285
I like to go out in the starter rig in suits and heavy vehicles, the idea being that if you kill my coffin I deserve to die in it.
>>
>>738995403
Yeah I feel like the loyalist rig is well balanced in that way. You're way squishier but you need it to pilot the best combat vehicles. BTW the devs said that being able to pilot the rounder in the carmine rig is unintended, so don't get used to that.

Alright, almost 20 hours in and I have done every mission.

Sarissa + RPG mount deletes EVERYTHING.
Posadochny was basically a cakewalk, I expected worse from what anons were saying. Had a few close calls from RPG popo, but they never hit before I gibbed them.
But I am wondering: Is there a SPECIFIC "package" I can find there or is it just flavor text? I didn't find anything special in any crate I checked; in fact I didn't even find anything good.
>>
Can I only sell the same items that the merchant is selling?
>>
>>738996069
Yes
>>
>>738994985
Literally why NOT upgunned van??? It's just loader with a turret, isn't it???>>738996069
For now, yes. The police armory work's good though, as you can sell high grade ammo, which I'm not even sure if you can use it all anyways
>>
>>738996282
Because loader van gets you 2 large slots + 1 small, compared to upgunned only giving 1 large + 1 small. If you pack a Mog in the loader van, it's basically the best of both worlds, you have both a fuckton of storage, and a heavy suit to melt enemies with (also the mog doesn't suffer accuracy penalties)
>>
>>738996282
A non-upgunned loader van has 2 large slots, so you can bring a powersuit and a big crate. Whereas with the upgunned van you can only bring the crate and have to rely on the van's weapons, which aren't as good as the mongoose's
>>

Just flavor text like with all of the other salvage missions that mention a package.
At least in the first salvage mission with such a description, it's purpose is to tell you where the crates can spawn, don't remember if the description in Posadochny gives you any specific locations.

>>738998505

Some of the boxes seem to have fixed loot, would be convenient if some autist compiled it so it's easier to rebuild loadouts.

Is it not possible to sell items to the merchant that don't fit in your personal inventory? I have an e-engine large that I'm trying to sell, but no configuration of it being in the truck, the ground, or the box seems to work and it's far too heavy to pick up myself.

Well I just realized that I can sell complex parts from the same crate, he just doesn't buy the e-engine (or rebuy the treads I bought before I realized I was carrying the e-engine) despite having a sell button on the item.
Everything about this inventory system and the GUI for it is god awful and needs to be reworked ASAP.

There's no specific crate. Despite being the hardest mission, Posadochny has pretty mediocre loot.

Sarissa does feel really strong.

Posadochny has a lot of RPGs, but it can be hard not to get overwhelmed. I can drop in Sinkhole and its easier to get out.

Tbf the partyvan is some endgame shit. Most anons probably already started trying it as early as when they first got their carmine/other powersuits, which would be brutal. The 1st line of cops with RPG/penpal alone is enough to delete them right off the gate

The book characters pretty much had most of their gear delivered to them by their contacts, meanwhile we're cobbling together vehicles. at least there's a merchant. In the book they also didn't get any mechs until they found a mog and a touro sitting in a museum lol they were using a van and carmine rigs forever.
>>
I think gameplay-wise it's more fun to be able to put shit together however you like and scavenge from the field. I do wonder if the story missions will be less about making your own wacky terrorist party van and be more about preset loadouts like the first game, so there's a balance of pure run and gun vs collecting stuff and then run and gun.

It's the one where you have kill like ten marked cops. Anon's right but missed that there's another crate on the north-east end with just as much money. Takes maybe five minutes if you're slow and you get ~6k for it. Sinkhole is pretty lucrative too but only if you get to the bottom. It's also more dangerous imo.
>>
>>739014706
There's one 7.62 APC in vandenberg as well, not safe without something to take it out unless you're a real clever motherfucker. However with an RPG you can farm the cash and get two machine guns and a ton of ammo every run.

I would be disappointed if the terrorist campaign doesn't let you build up shit. I can understand if your hideout gets raided and you lose shit or whatever and story missions where you have whatever on you and get caught out in public by the cops, but comon the whole fun of an insurgency is stealing enemy supplies and using them.
They even have the Liberator in the game, literally purpose made for insurgents to one click an enemy sentry and upgun.

You can get a guaranteed cut 50 and a bunch of ammo from the corvid variant of the chop shop mission pretty early on.
Bring the .50 cal rifle and a handful of ammo (guaranteed drops from a certain cop in the dealership mission) and just snipe the guy in the loyalist powersuit on the right side of the map. It takes a decent amount of shots to take him out, but he doesn't ever try to close in on you while you do it.
Once you have the cut 50 APCs don't stand a chance against you.

From my experience the corvid version is far more frequent than the cop version, but yeah. If you load in and it's the cop version (you can tell almost immediately because the entry area won't have as much shit cluttering it up), just leave and try again.
The powersuit guy with the cut 50 is also right next to where alarge crate always seems to spawn with a bunch of ammo in it, so it's a pretty good way to farm some general ammo too.

One of those things almost fucking killed me yesterday, I unloaded a Rhino Stopper mag into him in a panic after his ramming brought me down to like 7 HP.
Also at what point/mission should I be getting armor? Being a 20 HP paper towel feels rather unsafe.
>>
>>739020912
One of the mid tier missions mentions getting a carmine rig from a sniper, that's the one that gets you the next tier of armor. The carmine rig weighs 300 and you'll want a decent amount of firepower to tackle the enemies in the mission.
>>
>>739020912
You get armor from the Wilderness level.
So far this is where most people hit the first roadblock, lest they found explosives in Shoreline.
My advice: Do Kolchak Park first, it's piss easy and it has a big crate in a courtyard with guaranteed cool stuff - I got a bunch of LAWs and thermobaric grenades several times in a row.
Also protip for Wilderness: go around north

Missions where you can get a new rig are labeled as recovery or something like that.
Wilderness is the first one and gets you the most generalist rig, warning it's a trial by APCs.

Apparently this is how to recharge shields at the moment, if anyone is unsure
>>
>>739021249
On missions that have multiple stages you can also power down your shields before going through a loading screen and then power them up again in the new area and they'll be full. Probably unintended but hey as long as it works
>>
>>739021232
The problem with the cut fiddy is that you still need to expose yourself, which is bad at 20HP.
Grenades can be thrown from cover. Especially that FUCK patrolling around the parking lot and the asshole in the courtyard become way more bearable if you don't have to play grab-ass while they tickle you to death.

>>
>>739021067
>>739021232

My strategy was zero risk but more tricky
>go in naked (maybe with a medkit from the suitcase)
>get the van above the gas station
>kick a hole in the fence up north and beeline it to the gated area with the apc and ammo crate (the gate lowers for all vehicles, including your van)
>park the van behind the apc, get out and hide behind it, once the apc loses sight of you it'll usually get out of the enclosed area and often get stuck on the rock outside or on a wall
>you now have time to loot the crate there which will often have decent weapons, use them to clear a path to the suit and use the van to carry it out
>>
>>739021332
You can slap the cut 50 on an upgunned panel van. It takes down APCs with just a short burst and infantry in one shot. It's not accurate, but if you tap the trigger to squirt out one round at a time it'll do a lot of work for you and is very ammo efficient. Against APCs you can use the panel van's speed to swoop in on their rear armor and squeeze a burst right into their ass, which usually does them in before their turret can even traverse onto you. Even if you just have to bum rush them head on though you'll still take them out real quick.

Is it normal for big fucking crates with big fucking guns to spawn on literally second mission? How am I even supposed to take it home?
>>
>>739021067
I just used an armored up-gunned panel van with 80ish rounds in a potbelly to take out a couple apcs. Once I ran out of ammo I used the apcs themselves to wipe out the infantry and then grabbed one of those penpal rifles and an mp5 to take out a couple apcs by running around them like some looney tunes shit. After that I almost died and had to run away in my van
>>
>>739021787
It's normal. You got a van right there, it should be enough to take all that.

Currently sifting through dev levels using the console. Seems like there is going to be a good deal more powersuits/rigs in the future. Mechs, hard to tell. There is a fork with a chobber car as a upper. And the killdoser in some of these debug levels. Will report back with more findings.
>>
>>739022569
The fork with the car upper is in the demo. I think it would be really out of touch if they had only a small amount of mechs in their mech game sequel.
