>play recent single player game>have fun and feel like i'm doing something everyone else is doing>play old single player game with no players>feel aloneHow do I defeat this psychological training that has been embedded in me through popular culture?
>>738935059hard to say, I struggle with this sometimes too. Not really from a loneliness angle but kind of uh... if a tree falls in a forest type thing. I'm already borderline alien compared to the common person, so any more separation and it starts feeling like I dont even exist, or nothing matters. which is just recognizing reality I guess, this is all just a dream from the demiurge afterall.

>>738935059By deleting all social media and not using the internet for one year.
>>738935059>>738936751just get out of gaming already if you get your kick only from soocializing by playing the hip new games
>>738935059>play single player game with no playersanon, that's what single player means?
>>738935059there are always players. Find them and their shitty little communities then you will feel like you're part of something again
>>738935059Love that feeling. Both replaying old PS1/2 games from my childhood or playing PS1/2 games I missed out on feels so tranquil and liberating. It's how a hobby SHOULD feel. When Armored Core 6 was announced and released this shithole board was my private hell - I genuinely wished ass cancers upon bunch of uppity secondaries. Fucking maggots. Anyway, I have no kikebook, jewtube, israelgram, xitter, leddit or other soulsucking mutt apps and I don't play GAAS garbage. I have a grand total of 4 friends and we occasionally play games, mostly fighters, locally.
>>738935059>>738936751I often feel this way too, I imagine it's pretty common and explains a lot of trends. People like feeling connected to the world in order to fight the feeling of isolation and pointlessness, even if indirectly or in seemingly insignificant ways. If you're a loner and your only means of said connection is whatever pop culture you partake in, then maybe that's not so good and requires fundamental changes. Otherwise you just have to accept and repeat to yourself that a lot of things in life ARE going to be largely pointless and will always just stay between you and yourself (and maybe God if you believe.)
>>738935059>>738936751You people are terminally sheep what the fuck. Kill all zoomers
>>738937781This was me before covid, but then all you normalfaggots invaded my hobbies and my lifestyle
>>738935059Start using retro achievements. Also make a post on >>>/VR/ after you beat it
>>738938793How are normalniggers invading your ability to play retro games by yourself exactly?
>>738939386because my outcast behavior became zogified and normalized
>>738935059You're parasocial. Limit your social media intake and maybe try discussing the games you play in more general threads (like emulator threads or the 'what are you playing today' ones). You could even start a thread from time to time if you think the game is worth discussing.Build up the idea that these games are a solitary activity and that community discussion is optional but sometimes fruitful
>>738938085It doesn't have anything to do with age or generation. Who's the stereotypical Facebook addict? Single mom? 50-year-old wine aunt? The more content you are with your social life in general, the less need you're going to feel about all your solitary hobbies and leisure time having to be social activities as well, and vice versa, which is probably more applicable here.
>>738935059>feel like i'm doing something everyone else is doingThis is... positive?
