It looks retro but it plays like a modern game. have fine control over your jump trajectory and can switch directions mid-air. You have movement intertia even though it doesn't fit the gameplay style. Upgrading your stats matters more than player skill. Superficially, it resembles a blend of Mega Man and Castlevania but it's a sheep in wolf's clothing.
Yeah, I don't know about all that but it is a pretty fun game. Coulda been better but hey, what couldn't?
