>you start with Delta/3, which is much more accessible than MGS1 or MG1
>You end with 4 which is a much better ending to the series than TPP
>>
I am going to do this once 4 finally comes to PC
>>
MGS5 makes no sense if you haven't played the games set after it.

Well actually it makes no sense regardless... What I mean is: if you've played the other games first at least you understand why is makes no sense.

I hope my words make sese to you.
>>
That's dumb. They would've released in chronological order if that's how they were meant to be played.

This isn't really the worst idea but a lot of the stories are built on you being familiar with prior games that are later in the timeline so going from 3 to 5 to 1 would probably be very weird. 5 in particular would be pretty incoherent since it assumes you know what's going on with miller, huey, and ocelot

chronological order is retarded but i do think 4 is better after MGSV just because MGSV reframes a lot of things with Zero and how exactly the Patriot AI becomes so bloodthirsty. in release order, you see the very end of the series, and then MGSV adds a few notes about things that weren't explained but isn't a real climax or ending for the franchise. but the other way around it's much more cathartic because you see how things get so bad exactly, and THEN you solve the problem.
>>
The only games in the series worth playing is 1 and 3.

>Play MGS 3
>Play MGS PW
>Play MGSV
>"Remember the first game you played? That was all a joke, and it was only possible thanks to this Skullface guy doing all the dirty work behind curtains"
no

>you play mgs5 early
>you never want to play another metal gear game again
>>
>>738941146
no. play it in release order FIRST, then replay in chronological order.
>>
>>738941146
You are wrong on literally everything.
Also, you should SKIP TPP altogether, period.
>>
>>738941146
>Play chronological
>Skip MGSV
This is how you do it
>>
>>738941146
>accessible
>>
>>738941146
Better off playing release order and skipping PW and V (and playing MGR which is a much better epilogue to the series)
>>
>>738941146
Proper order is:
Ac!d
Portable Ops
Ac!d 2
Smash bros
MGS 2
MGS 1
>>
>>738941146
>>738941452
The plot of Metal Gear doesn't matter and if you care about its longform narrative you're a retard.
>>
MG1/2 -> MGS1 -> MGS2 -> MGS3 -> MGS: PW -> MGSV (minus the final chronology crawl) -> MGS4

That is the order.
>>
retard
>>
the MGS story has been raped and retconned multiple times now, it doesnt even matter anymore
>>
just play 1 2 and 4 for the Solid Snake saga, the Big Boss saga is a huge clusterfuck
>>
Actual best playing order:
MG
MG2
MGS
MGS2
Then stop
>>
MGS5 is the greatest game in the series, and the greatest Third Person Shooter ever made.
MGS has the best story, with most innovation while being the best Playstation 1 release of all time.

Rest are fine games.
>>
>>738941146
You're an idiot
>>
>>738941146
nah, shit doesn't matter because 2 just copies 1 beat for beat and doesn't move the series forward. 4 is a direct sequel to two and is ass as well.
>>
Where does metal gear survive go
