I jump from the arland serie to dusk and I did not like the alchemy that much, there is not much free way to combine traits like the arlan serie, it gets better in the next games?

Can't have all the items, can't have all the equipment, can't have all the time in the world to synth OP shit so you start coming up with schemes to save time, scrape by in combat, move around less, rely on shops and helpers. Most JRPGs you can do everything at any time, which almost makes you not want to do any of it. Here you need to be a little more deliberate, so you end up taking advantage of anything you've got at your disposal. Knocking out a dozen things you needed to get or get done in an outing is pretty satisfying.
