Isshin or Gehrman?
Thematically, lore-wise, music?Gehrman.Move-set and pure fighting?Isshin.
Isshin would fuck everyone in Bloodborne up.
>>738946595isshin is the definition of un-fun
HOW MY BLOOD BOILS
>>738946963Skill issue, he's the most fun boss in Sekiro
>>738947016that's not saying much as most of the bosses in sekiro weren't fun
Isshin is better in everything that isn’t music and design. Gehrman’s scythe is really cool.
>>738947080Only demon of hatred feels out of place in Sekiro.
>>738946963he's the culmination of the game, excluding the actually annoying parts (poison and terror)
>>738947149yeah that one was really bad. it's the only one I had to cheese. not sure how bad it is now since I played the day 1 version back when it released.
>>738946963I think he's kinda funThe hitbox of that wind attack of his can go suck on a fat cock tho
>>738947207I've seen videos of people beating Isshin by abusing the runspeed to just stay at distance and punish him with one attack whenever he does a slam. Genuinely makes me sad that they didn't expoerience Sekiro properly
>>738947080The way of the blade is not for you son
>>738946595The one who didn't get third try'd by DSP.
The greatest part about Isshin is that you have to use literally everything you have and everything you learned to beat him.
>>738947373The first time I beat him I did it without doing a lighting reversal so not really.
>>738947431Then you probably got by the skin of your teeth and haven't fought his Inner version.
>>738947016he's not owl (father) though???
>>738947504I beat him 2nd try and didn’t have to revive so not really. And I said first time I beat him, I beat the inner version using a lightning reversal the regular fight is better than the inner imo
>>738947548owl is a bitch that keeps running away
>>738946595Isshin.Why is Gerhman always mentioned? It's the easiest from's final boss.>but muh lore, muh musicFemale brained. The true kino boss is the orphan of Kos.
>>738947570>the regular fight is better than the inner imoCorrect
>>738947603>It's the easiest from's final boss.so you didn't play demon's souls, dark souls, dark souls 2 and dark souls 3?
>>738947603He's not the final boss, pseud
>>738947548I really didn't like it all that much, just a very protracted fight. In terma of actual madness tho, Inner Genichiro broke my soul.
>>738947603>It's the easiest from's final bossHe’s not even the easiest final boss from his own game kek
I know it’s petty but Isshin is only a decimal off from being the best final boss ever, and it’s only because I wish Wolf decapitated him for the finisher. He could’ve still talked after getting decapitated since that’s a common thing in Japanese media anyway.
>>738946595Gehrman is anti-climactic. He fucks off for 90% of the playthrough then you progress through the game and all of a sudden he's the final boss. Isshin has way better build up, but when it comes to aesthetics and presentation, Gehrman shits on Isshin hardcore especially considering Isshin's arena is a rehash of Gehrman's. But then again Isshin is much better when it comes to gameplay. I prefer Isshin slightly.
What was the point of isshin fighting sekiro, or killing one another?Isshin is immortal and can now protect ashina forever, and he doesnt care about kuro
>>738947953>He fucks off for 90% of the playthrough then you progress through the game and all of a sudden he's the final bossNigger, you meet Isshin once and he's a random dying old guy
>>738947971Kuro cares about Isshin which is what really matters here
>>738947971It's fun
>>738947985You can just say you haven't played Sekiro
>>738947985>he didnt meet the tengu>he didnt share sake Shamefurr
>>738947953Gehrman's lore and involvement in the story is very much in the background. some mumbling while he is sleeping, finding the old workshop. but in the overall lore he has no small role.Isshin is just a more polished version of that. old mentor like figure that remains mostly remains in the background throughout the story, but this time his involvement spelled out more explicitly.
I couldn't really appreciate Gehrman because I fought him once, nuked him and then was like "that's it?"I even parried attacks of his that I saw for the first timeIsshin, otoh I fought him like mad for days, frustrating but fun as fuck. I might like Owl a little more though.hesitation is defeat
>>738947971Genichiro gave his life to revive his legendary grandfather and protect Asshina. At that point, Isshin was basically honor-bound to fight Wolf.>>738947985Bitch he's literally with us almost the whole game you haven't played Sekiro.
>>738948256The ending of Bloodborne felt rushed. I didn't get the impression that, that was the moment the entire game was building up to. The whole plot was hard to follow anyway. I still had no idea what paleblood was and why I was seeking it when I stood next Gehrman (still don't.)
>>738947971in the short dialogue before the fight he says basically says that reviving ashina was genichiro's wish and therefore he has to kill sekiro1. he is magically bound by the mortal blade to do it, or2. he does it out of respect for genichiro's sacrificeto me, it seems like a mix of both. anyway it seems like to revive ashina, they would require kuro's magic, which isshin who when he was alive ignored as he rather accepted ashina's end.
>>738948747I don't know what paleblood is either. maybe I forgot, it has been a while since I was really into the game.but the story is basically>ayylamo god employs you and gives you a contract that makes you unable to properly die>you are supposed to kill some other ayylmao god baby (maybe moon presence is a jealous, infertile hag, idk gods act in mysterious ways. reminds me a bit of greek gods who act very erratic)>btw, while doing your job you accidentally destroy yarnam by killing rom that somehow blocked the moon presence influence>when you are done with your job of killing a baby, Gehrman finally wants to let you rest in peace>you can decline and make him rest in peace instead and either get a promotion (as his job is now vacant) or kill moon presence and become an ayylmao god yourselfI actually forgot why Gehman is there as a manager within the dream. he also had some contract with the moon presence, but I forgot why.
>>738948257Based Owlchad
>>738946595Is it weird that I 99% completed this game twice and literally never even fought isshin? Both times I played through i was so burnt out by the end that I just didnt have the energy to make more than an attempt or two on the beast of rage or w/e right before the ending. Then I step away to play something else for a month or two and lose all of my muscle memory and feel like I need to start over from the beginning again.
>>738946595Gerhman has insane aura but Isshin is genuinely the final boss perfected
>>738948747Nobody is supposed to understand the plot. Sekiro showed they can just tell a story but choose not to. Bloodborn is the Zanzibart nonsense start to finish.
>>738950164Their storytelling style wore off for me too. Mysteries are only fun when they have cool answers. Open ended questions that will never be revisited are gay and a waste of time. Id rather they just tell an actual full story without any dangling threads that their constant vagueposting that requires extensive item description knowledge and problem solving just to wind up at an answer that's more like a wet fart than anything satisfying.
>>738946963Absolute shitter take. The only way you can think that is if you cheesed all other bosses and refused to engage with the game's mechanics at all.
>>738946963That's the two monkeys. Isshin is peak.
>>738952547Eh I liked the monke couple cause it's the one fight where it makes sense to zoom around at top speed instead of standing your ground. Not fun on a replay though
>>738947149He's the average Nioh boss.
>>738949874Skill issue.
>>738946595Isshin is the best boss fight but Gehrman is the most kino boss fight in all soulsborne games
>>738946595Gehrman is shit. Way too easy for a final boss and makes the ending anticlimactic
>>738946963Isshin is the most fun boss in any fromsoft game
>>738946595The GLOCK SAINT
>>738948747>I didn't get the impression that, that was the moment the entire game was building up to. You kill the nightmare everyone think its causing the hunt, Gehrman gives you the choice to die, wake up and walk away from this cursed land, or you can fight him and maybe have the chance to kill the eldritch abomination thats actually causing the hunts. Idk, seeing the wheel-chaired fuck get up and fight you its pretty kino, and it makes sense your character wants to get out and forget all the horrors. Both options are great. >The whole plot was hard to follow anyway.Really?
