I actually own the Logitech f310 controller.
It has been collecting dust for a long time but probably still works just fine.
>still being sold
How well does the controller hold up these days compared to other modern budget controllers?
And how many years do these controllers last before problems happen?
Hopefully longer than joycons before they get drifting quickly.

Lastly my hands get sweaty. What is a good rubber jacket for the Logitech controllers as I only found skins instead.

Yeah, no one wants to see a mass grave at the bottom of the fucking sea. No one cares about that shit. Especially when youre sitting on a literal toilet looking at the window to see it. I feel bad for the kid that died more than any of them, he didnt want to go and his dad pressured him into it. >>
>>738948456
The sub failed because the carbon fiber shell wasn't meant to go through multiple deep dives. The CEO knew about this and ignored the warnings.

>>
>>738948067
Nah, there are already a good bunch of documentaries explaining in detail what went so wrong since the company's creation. The CEO had his head too deep in his ass and wanted to be the "Deep Sea Elon Musk", ignored safety regulations in the name of "innovation", fired everyone who told him that building a submarine with carbon fiber that would be constantly subjected to high pressure a terrible idea (another company had already tried and reached the conclusion that carbon fiber submarines can only be used once) and pretty much tricked a bunch of millionaires into an early underwater grave, including a teenager who only went because his father insisted him. The Logitech controller was simply the cherry on top of how much he cut corners to save money.

>>
And funny, but not funny, the last thing they heard was fucking Celine dion, "my heart will go on". These people died for nothing, and I even knew when they were talking about the apparent oxygen they had left was total cope. Its too deep, too cold, and under intense pressure from being down there. James Cameron, and Gabe are the only ones that own subs that can go down that deep.

Pretty much everyone who understands water pressure knew they were dead as fuck the moment they lost contact for that long. Cameron was like "yeah it's not good" the day it broke iirc, because he knew with that amount of pressure if something went wrong then it went horribly wrong.

Because of he wasnt a dumbass none of it would ever have happened. Money doesn't mean smarts, and he was a total narcissist about it. >How well does the controller hold up these days compared to other modern budget controllers?
These Logitech controllers have far better quality control than that Chinese junk.
But they're terrible.
The F310 has several issues that show it was designed by engineers who don’t understand video games:
>the face buttons are too small in diameter
>the D-pad is ridiculous in every way
>the D-pad wobbles in all directions
>the trigger springs are extremely stiff
>the analog stick's dead zone is so large that it causes that "snap" effect
>there's also an external dead zone issue that's practically unsolvable unless you’re using something like Steam to configure the controller better
>the back is too curved, which makes it extremely uncomfortable after a few minutes
Etc.

They're resilient, unlike the junk from 8Shitdo and similar brands, because they have Western-standard quality control. But it’s not like that helps much when they're so poorly designed.
>>
>>738949686
Wasn't it so fast they wouldn't have had time to react? That's what I pray at least.
>>
>>738946690
did they ever recover the controller?
>>
>>738949643
It had issues before on other "expeditions", so before they went it was already structurally compromised. He knew it had issues, and had issues >>738949643
because of the dumbass way he built it.
>>
Should I get nipples for my controllers?
>>
>>738949742
The moment they experienced the sudden pressure change (right before implosion) they would've been immediately rendered unconscious, if that matters less than a second before you are instantly crushed.
>>
>>738949742
Pretty much, they were dead before they knew it. It was actually instantaneous because of the pressure, and being so intense it literally liqiuifed them
>>
>>738949807

People talk shit about the Oceangate controller but it's really not bad at all. They use xbox controllers for the periscopes on nuclear submarines because there's basically no training needed. You can take anyone, give them an xbox controller, and they'll be able to control the periscope. And the controllers are cheap and easily replaceable if they break.

I mean if you die at sea it is generally expected that your body isn't going to be recovered, this concept goes back millennia; if you die at sea you don't ever come back. In this particular circumstance these were a bunch of rich weirdo freaks who don't seem to grasp the absurdity of recovering a "body" that was vaporized into mush at the bottom of the ocean. The rest of us normal people aren't ever going to get that treatment if we were to die at sea, you can rest assured knowing you'll be hanging out with Poseidon forever if this ever somehow happens to you.

>On 15 July 2022 (dive 80), Titan experienced a "loud acoustic event" as it was ascending, which was heard by the passengers aboard and picked up by Titan's real-time monitoring system (RTM). Data from Titan's strain gauges later revealed that the hull's strain response had permanently shifted following this event. The US Coast Guard investigation found that the loud acoustic event was the carbon fibre delaminating; the BBC described every dive after this one as "a disaster waiting to happen".

Depends what version you are using. If it's the original G7 Pro it has issues like >>738947070 said. If it's the G7 Pro Wireless that works on Xboxes (Wuchang and ZZZ versions) they improved a lot of the issues regarding the buttons, d-pad, and removed the need for a cable securing attachment if using the ZZZ version wired.

I got my ZZZ version yesterday to use on my Xbox wirelessly, played about three hours with it, and I think it's just an objectively better Xbone/Series controller. It feels nicer in the hands, it feels maybe slightly bigger than them but I haven't personally measured, the sticks are better because they're using the DS4/DualSense-style sticks instead of the Xbox ones just with ridges (Which you get alternates of if you get the Wuchang or ZZZ version if you don't like that), and it feels great.

The only thing you have to get used to is the face buttons because they're not as raised as an Xbox one (Which I think kind of harms the menu and hamburger buttons) and they click like a computer mouse instead of a normal button. The clicks are super silent though, and the d-pad is just so much better. I have no idea how people can stand disc d-pads though, the Series controller's one was -fine- but I immediately swapped to a normal four way d-pad the instant I could and it felt immediately better.

Normal G7 Pros can be found for like $60-80 depending on if there's a sale, Wuchang is $90-100, and ZZZ is $130. ZZZ is the only way you get an actual good looking wireless controller that works on an Xbox, Wuchang is the uglier way.

Just bought a Dualsense because it was kinda cheap and I like how it looks. Somehow it feels cheaper in my hands than the Pro 2 that I bought 5 years ago for $40.
I'm playing Pragmata with it. The gyro is really nice and precise. The adaptive triggers felt a bit weird at first, but it's a fun gimmick.
As long as it lasts more than a year, I won't regret the purchase.

The vessel wad made of carbon fiber. Carbon fiber gains tiny stress fractures over time when exposed to extreme pressure. So it might survive a few missions, but those tiny cracks are going to get deeper every time until it fails completely. Steel vessels don't have that problem as long as they are thick enough.

Use the rpcs3 shit where you can add individual games to steam. Means you can have independent steam controller binds for each game (if you are a turbo fag like me) otherwise just add RPCS3 itself to steam. I run windows so I'm not sure if there's a way to do it better on linux

as much as i love the sony controllers, the fact that they don't come with hall-effect sticks is just scummy behavior on their part. I've been through, like, 6 or 7 PS4 controllers. over the last ~10 years and every single one of them now has stick drift.
>>
>>738962356
>god tier
>a guy round-house kicking his TV screen

>>
>>738961972
I've watched tons of reviews on it and they always come back with the following criticisms:
>It's $100 overpriced.
>It doesn't feel like a premium controller outside of the color scheme change.
>It really only works best on a PS5, otherwise you're better off just using a normal DualSense if you're on PC.
>The stick replacements mean you are going to realistically be spending another $100 for TMR sticks from a company like
https://battlebeavercustoms.com/products/magneto-tmr-dualsense-edge-module
Pretty much everyone just says to buy a normal one unless you are someone who really needs back buttons, and as someone who hates back buttons I don't care.

>>738962368
Really? I've only ever gotten stick drift on my DualSense which fixed itself by just pushing down on the stick and doing clockwise then counter-clockwise circles like 20 times. Haven't had an issue since and I've dropped it countless times by accident onto solid flooring. Meanwhile three out of four of the DS4's I either own or a relative owns have all had massive issues with the MicroUSB port. I've upgraded both of mine to the USB-C ports from
https://lectronz.com/products/ps4-controller-usb-c
and even then they still occasionally get the "Headphone has been plugged in. Headphone has been removed. No microphone available." messages though I'm starting to suspect more and more this is a USB-C cable issue since my DualSense also has it happen on those same cables and it sometimes disconnects from my PC.
>>
>>738962356
What the fuck am I looking at?
>>
>>738951442
Yes, probably. A lot of games are more comfortable to play just mapping the extra buttons to shoulder buttons on a modern controller anyway
>>
>>738962368
That’s fair, the PS4 controller was really a mixed bag in terms of quality. Two of mine had stick drift, two didn’t. Same deal with my switch controllers, hope the switch two ones hold up better.
>>
Is there a high-end controller market? Let’s say I was willing to spend up to $500 for a really nice one.

>>738962963

It's a ridiculous price increase for two back paddles, which I also hate the feel of compared to flat back buttons on third parties and accidentally press all the time, and it's the only controller where battery life has actually interfered with gameplay for me. Unfortunately,
>gyro
>touchpad
>extra buttons fully remappable via steam input, ds4windows, or similar
>PC, PS5, Android compatibility
>Switch compatibility with a 3rd party dongle
is not a niche hit by any other controller currently, so I can't say there's zero merit to it. I think the average person's use case would be better covered by a Steam Controller, standard Dualsense, or your third party of choice.

>>
>>738963825

>>
>>738964739
Correct, but also you can't use something like the Steam Controller for a non-PC platform, and there aren't third parties worth talking about with proper trackpads, so even without a PS5 it has niche value if you want one controller for everything. I think Steam Controller + third party of choice is a better use of money unless you're getting a hell of a deal though.

Xbox, Sony and Nintendo agree that this controller shape fits your hands the best. Valve goes and puts a massive square in your hands. Gabe is gonna be responsible for people's carpel tunnel.

If it weren't for the unfortunate brand name (they really should conmsider changing that lmao), gamesir would be the most based brand.

Was just watching that too and around 6:45 he's rocking it back and forth to test for accidental up/down inputs and it looks pretty responsive.

As long as the family is happy, it's fine. My uncles have a weird belief that when people die, if you can piss them off hard enough, they might return to life. When my grandpa died, they hired a gay stripper, and had him performed in front of the coffin for 3 days, hoping grandpa would return alive because this is precisely what he hated most in his life. It didn't work obviously but they got closure

Look up the autopsy stuff from the byford dolphin diving bell accident. Dude both exploded as the air expanded, and got forced through a tiny gap. Kinda the opposite, he exploded, they imploded.

Microsoft perfected the shape with the wired Xbox 360 controllers and made it worse since. My ring and little finger always went numb with the Series controllers.

You don't become a millionaire with intellect. It's simply drive and having no moral core.

LMAO this is literally the defacto controller for 3rd worlders and aging boomer millennials who unironically took PC mustard race memes seriously, didn't grow up with consoles and shopped at Tiger Direct and Newegg.

Controller tech has long past this thing. Even cheap as fuck Gamesir chinese pads have hall effect TMR sticks that don't drift and better buttons. The only people who still use this are either poor as fuck or too lazy to even google for controllers.
>>
Why would you ever need anything more than a bog standard Xbox or Playstation controller?

Gamesir T3 Lite is the new poster boy for budget controllers.

welp my Gamesir Nova 2 Lite now has a mushy face button that feels awful to press.
any recs aside from just getting a 2nd one? I loved the shape, joysticks, and dpad. But the shoulder and face buttons were both too "narrow" compared to the Xbox controller to feel reliable to press. I also liked the travel distance on the membrane face buttons so I guess micro-switch buttons are out...

The only PS5 controller that has TMR sticks is the Razer Raiju. I still think it's overpriced though. If you aren't married to the layout you can buy a brook p5 adapter and use a bunch of different PC controllers on your PS5. If you aren't on PS5 and like it just because of the layout, Gamesir has a new symmetrical controller coming out soon.
