what are some of the most absurdly complex games

Both WITEs are still easy compared to WITP:AE. You'd need ultra-turbo ascended autism to commit and finish the GC in that one.
>>738950097i've been asking myself that same question the last few days. would Eve online count? I typically don't play these complex strategy games like OP's pic but I'm so bored of reaction speed gaming that I'm gonna start getting into them. Might start with crusader kings 3 or something, not sure.
>>738950097Command Modern Operations
>>738950097X4 Foundations.the AI is fucked so you have to micromanage several hundred ships, its insane
>>738950409why so
>>738950097Rule the Waves
MekHQ just keeps getting more and more autistic. Few more years I think they'll have full RPG elements.
>>738950409hello, WitP:AE player here. i have finished multiple PBEMs from Dec 7th to 1944-45.
>>738950293>>738950761>>738951881These are excellent games, but they are complicated, they are not complex.>>738950097>what are some of the most absurdly complex gamesOnly multiplayer games can be considered complex, Eve Online perhaps being the most complex.
>>738953405Eve online is not that complex, spreadsheets and outdated ui doesn't mean complex
>>738953991>spreadsheets and outdated ui doesn't mean complexObviously not, that isn't where Eve's complexity comes from. It's from the human element.
>>738954058That can be the case for many games then.
>>738952973Impressive. >>738951275GG's attention to minuscule detail extended to encompass resource acquisition, war production management, land, and naval warfare all in one, as opposed to WitE's sole focus on moving your counters to smash the enemy's ones. Although the former two are a much bigger factor on the Japanese side than the American (as they should be). As Japan, you've gotta run the naval war against the US, the land war against China and in SEA, make sure you've got oil coming in from the latter, and so on. It's even more logistics-pilled than WitE and WitW. There's an optional campaign that "turns off" the Chinese theater, though. Turns are also 1 per day IIRC, as opposed to WitE's one per week. That makes for a significantly longer campaign.I faintly recall reading on the forums that unlike WitE, which was given a sequel, WitP:AE could not be remade again because its sheer complexity was the product of multiple irreplaceable devs who are no longer around.
>>738954314>That can be the case for many games then.Only if they include complex systems, which most do not.
>>738953405>These are excellent games, but they are complicated, they are not complex.Today I learned that complicated and complex are radically different concepts. Fuck i'm a midwit.
>>738954389>WitP:AE could not be remade again because its sheer complexity was the product of multiple irreplaceable devs who are no longer aroundkind of yeah. it's not so much the devs and their skillset so much as their encyclopedic knowledge of the war, weapons, ships, aircraft, etc. a lot of knowledge has been lost and it'd be almost impossible to find a teach with the skill and knowledge today.
>>738954415And back to eve systems which aren't complex.
also, single player WitP:AE is braindead. it's too easy to beat the computer and you have to really hamstring yourself to make it competitive. PBEM with another human being is by far the best way to play the game, and really feel like you are fighting the pacific war.
>>738954572>And back to eve systems which aren't complex.A player driven economy is an incredibly complex system.
Gary Grigbsy also said he would never make War in the Pacific again and that he was crazy/insane to make it in the first place. If he did it again, he'd make it simpler. We will most likely never see a newer WitP:AE game. It's all we got. 100 years from now, if you want to play the best game there is for the war in the Pacific, you'll have to boot up ye old Windows in an emulator to play it.
>>738954660Most mmos have a player driven economy.
>>738954660if it was complex, market manipulation wouldn't be so easy.market manipulation is a complex problem that is hard to resolve, player driver economy is so simple we figured it out as a civilization long before jesus christ was born.
>>738954826>Most mmos have a player driven economy. Most are incredibly limited and not really player driven at all. Allowing players to simply buy/sell something on an AH is not a player driven economy.
>>738954058>It's from the human element.shut in loser or slav, pick one.
>>738950293Still the king
>>738954467>Today I learned that complicated and complex are radically different concepts. Fuck i'm a midwit. You're smart enough to know what you don't know, can't say the same for most of this thread.
>>738950293>no game only half as autistic as aurora
i like dominions
>>738957329Dwarf Fortress could be close call, albeit the settings is vastly different.>>738950097Honorable mention:https://sites.google.com/site/samsimulator1972/homehttps://www.mediafire.com/file/bkh47j303ikmyyu/samsimv9302.rar
>>738954467explain the difference, O enlightened onr
>>738950097friendly reminder playing as g*rmany in ww2 games is problematic and shouldn't be done, and games that allow you to do so must be shamed
>>738954467You're as stupid as he is. They're synonyms for "consisting of many parts"
>>738950409I love reading AARs but the fact it might actually take upwards of 5 years just to reach 1944 is one hell of a commitment. The fact it's even got scenario mods to add even more ship types and units is just insane.
>>738954389I need to muster the autism to play this shit one day. First I must tackle CMOS
