Always has been even way back to the 80s/90s, and it's only gotten more so as they found more ways to jew you.You gotta buy the figures for your whole fucking army(which has only gotten more expensive with time as the "quality" has improved), you gotta buy rulebooks, not sure if you still gotta get magazines to keep up to date or not but you used to, if you're painting yourself you need paints, inks, brushes, etc, and if not you're paying good $$$ to someone else to do the work for you.I think trains are more expensive, but probably not by much. This is one of the reasons governments are slipping in rules restrictions on 3-d printters - lobbying by these fucks, so you can't cheaply print your own figs.

As a fan you'd hope that someone playing a role for a movie, would have at least a surface level understand of the source material and that is rarely ever the case. Many actors have a disdain for the fandom and think the source material is beneath them. This is why people love Cavill.
