>>738955869It's good but it's ridiculously easy compared to Eternal. Actually, almost every aspect of this game was improved in Eternal. The only thing it missed was the blood effects, demons were so juicy in 2016
>>738955869Most actual player freedom to the combat, and it was mostly by accident given what Bethesda era Idsoft did with Eternal and Dark Ages. Some parts are better than others, like the reduced presence of the story to the point where even Doomguy gets in on not giving a shit about it, solid shooting, and mostly okay level design that splits the difference between large freeform sections and arena fights keeps things good. Though it does introduce a lot of the enemy roster by the halfway point and the fights afterwards could've been a little harder, the one skill that lets you have infinite ammo so long as you had armor was broken as fuck and probably shouldn't have been in the game. Still, a good return to a dormant IP, but man the last one dropped the ball really fucking hard by stepping on every rake this one intentionally avoided.
