It's still the best 2D platformer because you actually have to use your brain for every playthrough. You can't end up at world 8 with few lives and no items and stand a chance. You have to play well, accumulate items that help you and then use everything you've gathered and learned to beat it. No fucking around, you gotta play to win. Even using the warp whistles isn't worth it for most normies because they won't have enough lives for world 8.

SMB3 was just Nintendo throwing shit at the wall hoping it works because SMB2 (LL) didn't come up with enough inovation from the first one. It's a complete clusterfuck of a game that's nowhere near solid as the first two gameplay-wise.

Just when I lost hope, they told me to open up a cereal box, and there it was. I was so happy. One of my favorite childhood memories.And the game did not disappoint. It's still one of y favorites. Though I wouldn't call it super difficult, I did beat it when I was 9 after all. I still vaguely recall how to get to the secret areas, and where to find the flute.
