How is there not a single good AI-generated game yet?
>>
>>738967856
Because AI is dogshit and always will be inferior to man.
>>
can you be sure that some of the shovelware out there isn't?
>>
Ummmm ackshually all AAA games are basically AI-generated games
>>
>>738968074
its not nice to call Indians "AI"

It will be AI-assisted in some way and the people who do it won't leave any creases, and they won't tell you either, because they've seen how you sperg the fuck out at any mention.

I find it funny how trillions are spent on AI, when it's STILL no more advanced than a chatbot some dude cooked up in the 70s. It still uses the same tricks and everything. Even back then, some of the people who chatted with it, swore that it was alive, no matter how the creator proved to them that it wasn't.
>>
>>738967856
obviously because we havent built enough data centers, if there's still water on planet earth then there's not enough data centers.
>>
>>738968494
Why does it make people so mad in the first place? It's clearly limited.
>>
>>738968513
but the scale
>>
>>738968764
It doesnt mean shit, its still a 1970s chat bot.

Because luddites have protested any invention ever.
Even the wheel was protested, we just don't have records of it. I'm certain of it now.
Fire too.

Because what they are trying to sell people will never come to be and it's taking a fuck ton of money and resources to run something that has NOT MADE A SINGLE CENT. They are trying to sell a dead end that people knew were a dead end for 50 years. Modern AI is just the best marketing spin in history.

Expedition 33 was well liked. It even won all the awards. For some reason people are very quiet about it being AI generated.
>>
>>738969070
They didnt come out that anything was AI generated for a while though. right?

Right, this isn't AI generated either.
>>
>>738969209
They admitted even before launch they used AI to make the game. The entire game also looks like it was AI generated, outside maybe those main characters, which are just scans of real people.
No real creative talent went into that game. ChatGPT33.

youre somehow more retarded than the shills
>>
>>738967856
AI sucks balls when it comes to making 3d models.
>>
>>738972901
for now
honestly I wouldn't even say that's true
>>
>>738967856
because making a game is a very complex, messy and multi layered endeavour that most people who love AI (browns, mostly) couldn't do if their life depended on it
>>
>>738969070
>E33 was AI generated
I don't even know where to begin with retards like you. All I can say is that I hope you're being retarded on purpose.
>>
>>738967856
You barely reached the point where AI generated images and video look decent-ish. Video games are a completely different beast.
>>
>>738975292
>making a game is a very complex, messy and multi layered endeavour
it doesn't have to be though, which is what AI tech will solve eventually just like it solved making pictures and songs
>>
>>738969284
that's a very tame kiss, they would probably kiss like that in real life.
>>
>>738975467
People are hyped for AI because we figured out how to train models to do ocmplicated shit.

If you can train a model to reproduce an art style you can train a model to put oranges in a bucket and you can train a model to create a template for a video game. You just need data to train the model.

>feed it art, get art generations
>feed it code, get code generations
>feed it music, get music generations

You just need smart people to get the ball rolling, presumably that's these guys here.
>>
>>738975565
>it doesn't have to be
That statement doesn't make sense-- games are quite literally too technologically demanding for current AI to shit out something functional. The other things you mentioned require mastery of a medium. Games require mastery of a medium AND the ability to bring those parts together to make an executable program that adapts dynamically to user input.

I'm not saying it's impossible for AI to reach that point, but for now, it's not there yet. It can only give you the tools to make one yourself, not shit one out the same way it shits out funny cat videos.
>>
>>738975757
First off that's false, people have made games using generative AI.
>The other things you mentioned require mastery of a medium
.... or AI and a couple of seconds?
>>
why would you even want that?

video games without any creative vision or soul?
tell me you're brown without telling me you're brown
>>
>>738975946
Sorry, I had a hard time explaining what I meant by "mastery of a medium". Basically, when you are good at drawing or playing the saxophone, it's because you are good at that one specific thing. It is easy for an AI to use data to do one specific thing, even if that specific thing has limitless creative application.

A videogame is not "one specific thing", it's an amalgam of many different things, and that requires an LLM that is able to not only generate all of those moving parts, but also write functional software utilizing all of those moving parts, successfully compile it, and make it executable. From what I've seen, LLMs tend to make too many mistakes for this to be possible WITHOUT human intervention every step of the way. In other words, sure-- I can use an AI to *HELP* me make a game, but I don't think the AI can make the game wholly on its own. At least not yet.
>>
>>738976293
There are a fuck ton of games exactly like that which get produced by real human beings. I'm past the point of believing anyone here actually cares about "soul" or "creative vision". You idiots just want somehting to hate.
>>
>>738967856
AI can be likened to a microwave, a calculator, or auto steering for a car. It's a helpful convenience, but for now it isn't omnipotent, especially if the person using it doesn't really have a skill outside of prompting for the AI to bolster.

>A videogame is not "one specific thing",
Yes it is. It's called a "video game". Anything with a concept that a computer can understand can have a model trained on it. Video games are a concept. They aren't that deep.

NTA, but you are too stupid to be having this conversation, anon. And, for the record, I never said that it was "impossible" for an AI to make a game without human intervention. It's just not capable of doing it right now because it makes too many mistakes to write the enormous amount of code needed to program a functional game.
>>
>>738979242
you are lying through your teeth to appear to not be wrong and save face on an anonymous online belgian kitchen decorating forum.

just admit you have never worked on a game, or learned any of the skills necessary to understand even remotely how a game is built and how it works.
