Yeah, it's a fundamentally excellent game, this isn't PoE. Only catch is that the DLC is balanced around NG+, but you can overcome it.

Yeah its fun but its worth going into the DLCs which give you the enemy variety and weapon movesets. Also you start getting fun skills and can get your movement speed up by 700% which completely changes the combat dynamics.
