It's not even the right fucking enemy. Lost Izalith is the domain of demons, the dragon asses are the back part of the undead dragons. Undead are Nito's realm, and dragons belong in the Valley of Drakes. Neither of these are demons.

Every other boss fight is great fun and many are the best in the entire series. Alonne, Fume Knight and basically any DLC boss (yes, including the two dogs) but especially the Burnt Ivory King are all amazing.

Even if you only like fighting against big monstrous enemies, DS2 has plenty of that too. DS2 has the most Dark Souls in your Soulslike, including ER which just uses a few models and reskins them.

You have pinned the tail on the donkey, you've hit the dragon in the face, It is a DPS check with bloated health. You do enough DPS to his face and he staggers, which lets you burn through the rest of his HP bar.
Actually fighting the dragon normally without stagger ripostes is just a matter of eventually taking damage from braindead attack patterns and healing. They're not even that complicated, he just always does a few attacks and then repositions in a way that makes it kind of easy to hit his head I think.
You will have to excuse my brevity in describing this impression of Midir, it has been nearly 10 fucking years, this is all I remember.
Also any DaS3 dragon boss gets automatic minus points for not having tail-cutting even though there are weapons in the game that explicitly mentions that they have been cut from a dragon's tail (it's a random drop lmao).

It's honestly crazy that this boss in a completely slapdash game stitched together from unfinished and placeholder assets has more presence within his level, than any other non-DLC boss in DaS3, all of which have been haphazardly shuffled around in their box-like arenas like some kind of shell game.

I think they probably just ran out of budget for the bounding demons, and meant to make a new enemy but just used them. The version you fight in DaS2 with mouths probably meant to be the original bounding demon

Not a YouTube theory, but the hanging dragon in the Valley of the Drakes is self healing to a point where its ass regenerates, but because it's also dying, it rots off again and falls into Lost Izalith.
