Online radio stations being added to single player is the best thing that happened to it because for all its faults, the radio stations from Online were more interesting than what came before it.

The on the fly character switching blew my mind the first time, but then I realized how restrictive R* are about it when the novelty wore off. They are just better off making movies. Wheres my single player DLC with Agent Trevor and the Liberty City expansion? Zombie/Alien themed single player DLC that had been hinted on from the start? Character pack dlc's for Michael and Franklin that had been scrapped and had their assets repurposed for shitty online events?

The main story and characters would have been flushed out way more without Online. Just like the Diamond storyline in GTAIV. If they had scrapped the episodes, you'd known way less about the main events and characters in the story.

But that's being said, I cant wait to experience Gta VI after it gets a 20 dollar sale a couple years from now.

The online mode opened a pandora's box for the devs to halt all game development and focus on the retarded people wasting exorbitant amount of money on a single online server.
The game is very solid, but has much less of an edge (as in, point to show, not as in edgy but also applicable).
A passable-to-good experience and a bane of the industry all in one package.

It's such a shame that VI also has a present day setting. 13 years have passed, but the world hasn't changed that much. It's still about people being high on social media.
Having another 80s Vice City game might've been unimaginative, but maybe if it was set in the 70s/90s/early 00s it would've been more interesting.

I recently replayed it after not touching V since the 360. Decided to go online after single player.
Got repeatedly blown up by some level gorilion players flying around on a missile spamming bike.

60% of the map is pointless in story mode. It was extremely irritating to switch to Trevor in bumfuck nowhere.

As other anons said the story was hurt by the characters being split as three main characters. Only michael felt like an actual character, Franklin was boring, Trevor was too on the nose of just embodying how people play as a character. I feel like they should have just done chapters instead of "this happened with Michael, then this happened to franklin" have overlapping segments of time but what that character was doing at that moment.

Gta 6 being a Bonnie and Clyde story will fix the issue of having too many people vying for protag.
