All this time I've been fucking around trying to make my PS5 controller play nice with Steam, when a Switch controller just works without issue. Why didn't you lot tell me life could be this easy?
>>
>>738983401
PS4 controller works perfectly fine with steam tho
>>
>>738983401
I never used either but I bet they both work just fine and you're a retard
>>
>>738983401
everything works nicely with steam since steam input made everything easy
>>
>>738983401
you never asked
also the few times I've used my ps5 controller on steam it worked fine
the switch pro2 controller I had to jump through some hoops to get working
>>
>>738983401
what was wrong with your ps5 controller? if the issue was connectivity, it was probably because the dualsense uses a stupid amount of power for a controller, so it plays extra bad with subpar cables. it also doesn't handle wireless very well.
>>
ps5 controller works just fine for me with steam. sounds like user issue
>>
>>738983401
>All this time I've been fucking around trying to make my PS5 controller play nice with Steam
Fuck are you on about? My DS5 works fine with it, I can even use the gimmicks (wired that is).
t. Steam controller owner btw
>>
8Bitdo.

Never looked back...
>>
>>738983401
Shitch controller has the worst latency out of any controller, even when plugged in wired
>>
>doesn't say what the issues were
>controller from other brand just works
Gee i wonder who's behind this op
>>
>>738983401
it's fine if you don't play racing game
>>
>>738983401

I mean it's fine if you don't play racing games, flying games, mech games, fighting games, menu-heavy games or side scrollers.

Digital triggers and a bad d-pad
>>
>>738983401
?
That's all thanks to steam input, nintendo certainly didn't make it easy. Should work just fine with a ps5 controller for the same reason.
>>
>>738984569
Yeah I got a Gamesir Nova Lite 2 and it makes the Dualsense look like a piece of shit for half the price. Just go straight to the Chinese for your PC controllers.

I hate how shitty dpads have become the default now. Even the 8BitDo Pro 3's dpad sucks when it literally has a fucking SNES layout. Worse thing is that the Pro 2 had a great dpad, so it actaully got WORSE.

I should have waited for fighting autists to review it instead of trusting the early reviews from paid shills.

At least with Nintendo it's understandle since the base Switch doesn't even have a dpad, so of course they aren't going to bother with it. Still a shame though since the N3DSXL has one of the best dpads ever made.
>>
>>738983401
The Dual Sense is full of bullshit from people who ran out of ideas.
>>
>>738983401
???
Dualsense works perfectly on Windows with or without Steam even
>>
>>738986748
Without steam it requires third party software or games that natively support it (wired).
>>
>>738987193
Doesn't usually need to be wired. Haptics require wire though. Unless that can also work via bluetooth nowadays
>>
>>738983482
steam input actually messes with the ps5 controller on some games, like spider-man the reactive triggers only work if you turn it off.
>>
I exclusively use mkb
Thinking of buying the new Forza and a controller (or maybe even a wheel but probably overkill)
Steam controller or Xbox controller?
>>
>>738987723
That "can" work wireless, but it requires a raspberry pi and some other bullshit.
And with the anemic battery on the dualsense I can't imagine that being worth it
>>
>>738987787
>the reactive triggers only work if you turn it off.
You do know you need to go to your Sound settings, "Configure Speakers" on the Dualsense, tick both boxes, and then apply that in order for that to work globally, right? That's just how it works.
>>
>>738983401
>spending 90 bucks on a literal fischer price toy
Bro? Where's your Steam Controller?
>>
>>738987835
Steam Controller if you're not buying a wheel. It's only 20 bucks extra for so much more.

Just go to Staples and buy one of these for cheap. Works with everything on Windows 10 with zero issues.
>>
>>738988265
sold
>>
>>738988167
Maybe I got a knockoff one because it was only 20 from a supermarket. Works great though

???
I closed Steam, plugged in my Dualsense, and it just werkz
No other programs are installed
Mayhaps you might be retarded?
>>
>>738983401
Xbox controllers are also plug and play, no issue.
The problem is that playstation has no games and therefore their controllers were never made to play them. You could have understood this.
>>
>>738987931
Holy shit that has nothing to do with the adaptive triggers, that has to do with the haptics on the controller since they are technically little speakers
Why is everyone so fucking retarded
>>
works on my machine lol
switch pro however keeps disconnecting every couple of mins no idea why
on linux btw
>>
>>738989669
What exactly do you think makes the adaptive triggers work? Because when you don't do the speaker thing nothing works, be it the triggers or the haptics, but when you do the sound thing both suddenly work.
>>
>>738983401
I used a switch pro controller for some years on PC. Switch 2 on release didn't work that well but they patched it now I guess. Thing is that is has pretty high latency with bluetooth and given all the other quirks of it I wouldn't take it over a third party controller with native PC support.
>>
>>738989812
You have no fucking clue what you are talking about
>>
>>738989580
Now play something that doesn't have native dualsense support

It's a mix of both PS and Xbox.

>Gamesir
what a terrible name. I bet it's a good controller but the name triggers my autism and I'll never give it a fair chance because of it
>>
>>738990032
no it's not
>press X!
>oh shit
>>
>>738989940
Most of the shit through other launchers (gamepass specially) doesn't work without DS4Windows
There's also a lot of pre 2016 shit or japanese ports that don't like anything that's not strictly xinput or steam input or mess up the bindings

Why are we pretending the Switch 2 controllers work on PC again?
