>30% of a story-based exploration game released in early access?
>BUY BUY BUY I NEED TO EXPERIENCE AN UNFINISHED PRODUCT AND RUIN THE PACING FOR MYSELF NOOOOW NEW THING NEW THING NEW THING
>>
>>738983581
why can't you be a wait chad and wait for it to be finished and patched and DLCed
there's like a billion game out there to play
>>
>>738983581
Why do you care what other people do with their money? Just buy it on official launch then retard
>>
>>738983581
I don't understand, they didn't get a bonus because CEO said the game is not ready. They won the case, but the game is not ready
>>
>>738983665
oh but it is ready*

*for early access (alpha)
>>
>>738983665
This, riddle me this
>>
>>738983665
They only won because the publisher used AI for the court documents or something lmao
Only the scammers won. Everyone else lost.
>>
>>738983581
nomies are retard just wait a year for full release
>>
>>738983665
>they didn't get a bonus because CEO said the game is not ready.
yes its not ready because the CEO stole designated funds and redirected it to other hobby projects while stalling sub2
>>
>>738983661
I wanted to play with my friend when it has full release but now he's just completely ruining the shared experience of discovery by sneak-peeking
>>
>>738983665
its fucking funny how one of the ceos literally left the company to make a chirstmas movie (with hilarious ai generated posters) and openly bragged about becoming a movie producer while another ceo made moobreaker instead of them both working on sub2 and krafton still lost.
>>
>>738983581
Wasn't there some controversy with the former developer being fired or something? How did it get so popular despite that? People talked about how evil the company was or something

Not that I give a shit, never played any of their games. Just curious
>>
>>738983581
AAAAAAA PEOPLE ARE NOT EXPIRIECING THE GAME THE SAME WAY AS I AM SAVE ME LOVECRAFT'S CAT

come on man
>>
>>738985057
All I know is that the game before this one sucked
>>
>>738983665
>they didn't get a bonus because CEO said the game is not ready
for early access. You left out that pretty major qualifier. The milestone that their bonuses hinged upon was being ready for early access.
>>
Sorry but I need good underwater games like a junkie needs drugs. Besides, I'm satisfied with what I got for the relatively low asking price, and I get to keep coming back to it as more and more content gets added
>>
>>738985057
tl;dr
>krafton buys unknown worlds (UW), developer of subnautica
>promises a big $250 million bonus cheque to UW if subnautica 2 releases in ea before mid 2026
>internal development targets all say they'll manage to reach ea and target sales easily
>krafton CEO unhappy, consider the big bonus cheque was actually a bad decision
>try to negociate out of it, UW tells him to get stuffed
>krafton CEO desperate, asks chatgpt for a plan to get out of bonus cheque, despite objections from legal dept., krafton senior managers and chatgpt itself
>smear campaign, locks UW from their steam page, and make announcement that subnautica 2 won't be ready for ea for made up reasons and fires UW lead team
>lawsuit
>judge sees all the evidence and tells krafton CEO to fuck off
>reinstates the UW lead guy, grant a months long extension on the bonus cheque targets
>still waiting on judgement for additional damages that krafton will have to pay to UW

It took just over 3 years for Subnautica 1 to reach 1.0. How long do you think this one will take?
>>

About treefiddy.
>>
>>738983581
please tell m they didn't make this a narrative game like the ice one instead of exploration focused
>>
>>738985160
Who gives a shit shlomo, this is clearly another grift

Lmao @ the few cuck devs still trying to put effort into this slop
>>
>>738983665
All this drama with Crafton and bonuses is just a marketing ploy.
>yeah, buy our game NOW(available in early access) to stick it up to the publisher, goy!
>>
>>738984097
close
the ceo of the publisher used AI to generate an epic plan to steal all the money and fire everyone without bonuses

how am I wrong? enjoy your merely 1 hour long of campaign
>>
>>738987660
How is that killing the game? If you play solely for the story, you simply don't get the game.

>Supposedly been in development for years
>Only 30% done
Is EA going to last like 3 years or what
How much content did Subnautica 1 and Below Zero release in EA with?
>>
>>738987892
its been in development for 8 fucking years and its still not done
starting to feel like the bonus really isnt deserved after all
>>

>caring about story in a survivalcrafter friendslop game
>>
>>738986726
"A game feature that was asked by the audience be implemented to the game will kill it"
Yeah 100%. Gamers are not developers and they're also a pretty low IQ demographic. Playerbases have been ruining games by asking for retarded shit since the beginning of the internet (ever heard of WoW ?).

>>738983581
I bought the original and it was good, played a little bit every update and got to experience the "VOXELS ARE THE FUTURE" version before they disabled and then baked it. No regrets.

Then i got Below Zero and it was so terrible and screamed "WE DON'T KNOW WHAT THE APPEAL OF THE ORIGINAL WAS" from the very first release, so i didn't even bother to check up the second update. Massive regrets and why im ignoring 2.
>>
>>738987801
the sandbox elements are part of the campaign, its the core of the game's narrative to have enough places to explore, things to unlock and farm, it all ties together, multiplayer is just a greedy gimmick to sell, no one ever asked for it, it adds nothing to the value of the game, it just takes away of how much we could've had in EA if it wasnt for so much development allocation to be pushed towards it.

Yeah, that is a lot of red flags.
>>
>>738988836
nah SN2 is really good its just taking too long
8 years + up to 4 more in EA is insane
>>
>>738989008
>8 years
What's up with retards repeating this obvious lie?
>>
>>738989008
SN2 is in development since 2022 retardbro

What would ChatGPT do in this situation?

Who?

Krafton ceo.
>>
>devs appeal to the "PLZ ADD MULTIPLAYER" crowd
So tiring
>>
The content is so limited that you could actually see it as a demo.
A demo for 30 bucks and the full version of the game coming in 3 years though.
>>
>>738986180
Ohh, so it's cool to buy the game then
>>
>>738991634
Maybe? I mean it's not like the judicial saga will make it into a game genre you instantly like if you didn't care for it before.
>>
>>738986180
I'm glad Last Epoch decided to sell out to these guys, I was worried there for a second that PoE would have competition and might have to improve
>>
>>738986726
>le (((optional)))
every time
>>
>>738991953
To be fair krafton might be on the way down with shit like that. I'm sure a lot of studio heads have been reconsidering acquisition offers from krafton.
>>
>>738986180
>internal development targets all say they'll manage to reach ea
No it didn't.
They missed most, if not all, milestones and the initial complaint was that releasing into EA in 2025 would be a disaster for long term growth as they basically had nothing.
Seeing the state of the EA now in 2026, a whole year late, it would appear krafton was correct in this assessment.
>>
>>738993034
That's krafton's version. The judge saw the evidence and concluded differently.
>N. The Milestone Review
>In May 2025, the parties scheduled a milestone review meeting. For Unknown Worlds, this was an opportunity to coordinate with Krafton on marketing and publishing logistics for the upcoming launch. Krafton’s finance team ran earnout projections to prepare for the meeting. Their models predicted that a successful August 2025 early access launch of Subnautica 2, with “over 1.67 million
copies sold by Q4 2025,” would generate significant revenue and “trigger [the] earnout.” A “Financial Planning Base” case scenario indicated a $191.8 million total earnout payment, and a best-case scenario indicated a $242.2 million payment.

Fuck Subnautica
>>
>>738993639
The estimation is based on engagement and wishlists on youtube and steam. Not on what is actually in the game.
Seeing as the EA is a whole year delayed and it only has 4 hours of content in it one can safely conclude that there's merit to the claim that milestones were missed.
>>
>>738994839
>A week later, the planned milestone review meeting went forward. Gallegos showed Krafton executives the latest game build, which showed great progress. Gill and Cleveland advocated for support for the planned August 14 release. But some Krafton executives claimed the game was “not ready” for release, citing a lack of “freshness” and “volume.” Krafton’s Oliveira told a colleague he was “starting to think . . . that people are trying to create excuses to not pay the earn outs.”
Kim lost, deal with it.
>>
>>738994990
Actually the players lost.
>>
>Underwater Autism Simulator
>>
>>738995182
Krafton's fault.
>>
>>738994990
cope and seethe you reddit faggot. SN2 is blatantly unfinished despite development hell and the faggots in charge stole funding for it to funnel it on their pet projects. Publisher is 100% in the right here
>>
>>738995481
Feel free to read the whole thing instead of being an unabashed faggot.
