Look forward to
>Complete rework of the Sundred Scar region, as well as areas further south along Almalexia
>The great stronghold of the Dwemer, Kemel-Ze being completed and fully explorable
>Joinable Indoril faction
>Joinable Ordinator faction
>Touched up Old Ebonheart quests, along with the long awaited Tournament ready
>OpenMW compatibility with the new spells usable in the engine, bringing it on-parity with Tamriel Rebuilt on MWSE
>Reworked Karthwasten areas for Skyrim to bring the area up to modern standards
>Voicelines for the Reachmen
>Draugr as a new race to interact with (different from the old model and creature implementation Bloodmoon had for them)

What is the new script extender cope against OMW now?
>>
>>738995414
>How will progression work when this is finished?
The progression in TR works best when you don't try to do everything in one playthrough. I would recommend focusing one 1-3 factions (that fits your character) each playthrough and trying to finish their questlines in different settlements.
TR is fundamentally a sandbox extension of morrowind, meaning that the world exist there and only react to the player when they directly interact. this means you can mostly go wherever, whenever and interact with what content you want.

>>738997657
>Do we know if the house will be fully completed in this release?
>They will be integrated in the MQ in this release?
Nope, this will happen after all of the indoril stuff is reworked AND Almalexia is finished. So maybe in 10 years.

The next update after poison song (Wealth beyond measure), will finish the hlaalu territories. So that mean that hlaalu will get their own main quest and the mainland portions will get integrated into the base game main quest.
>>
>>738987427
what's the point of morrowind if after a few levels nothing provides a challenge anymore since the world is unleveled
>>
>>738998751
What is the most "difficult" content in terms of stats in TR? Back when I played morrowind and the expansion packs, I thought the base game was kind of easy, tribunal was much harder and bloodmoon was overtuned
>>

The reworked area is basically new anyways. No one here talks about the Telvanni lands for good reason. The handful of iconic stuff in the old areas can be counted on one hand. Necrom and Akamora. And there's not much content in either.
>>
>>738998854
Nothing. TR is overall too easy because it's build for level 1 characters to start at. That's the one constant complaint people have and will eventually require a submod to fix.
>>
>>738999119
It's a genuine question. You seem to be really worked up about some people not using your method of playing the game, I was just curious why that is.

>>
>>738999189
By 'interact' anon means 'Draugr can now beat you with an axe or cast spells at you when you invade a Nord dungeon.' I mean theoretically someone could make one talk to you but really the main purpose is more interesting and varied Draugr fights.
>>
>>738999180
nta but while I only use MWSE out of habit now I do like mentioning it occasionally just to annoy the obvious OpenMW dev who seems desperate to dance on its grave.
>>
>>738998854
Can't really say "difficult" TR content as I've only started really exploring it in my current playthrough, but I think its meant to be like the main game where its "easy" and you can get around with a lot of wack builds. The expiations for Morrowind have a really busted difficulty because they are meant for players who more or less have completed the main game and most of the stuff there is do do in vardenfell.

If I remember correctly then the new sunder scar region is suppose to be a "dangerous" area, so maybe that will be the most difficult stuff in TR when it comes out.

>>738998947
>It’s annoying how they want to rework so much but unironically I might still play Morrowind in 10-20 years.

I do, the fact that SHOTN is focusing on fucking Fighter's Guild and Mage's Guild questlines instead of Nord equivalents is baffling to me.
>>
>>739003376
You kinda need to invent new enemies when you leave Morrowind, because the point was that Morrowind's wildlife is unique to it. Of course you could copy some from Daggerfall, but Daggerfall has a very narrow enemy list and only applies to the Iliac Bay.
>>
>>739003412
But they want to add the Companions i think.
>>
>>739003376
https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Bestiary_G
A Gnome is an obscure creature. They were the namesake of various inns and taverns in the lateThird Era.[24]A song from theIliac Bayregion described gnomes as hardy workers.[UOL 2]Lord Vanechwas once described as being "gnomish", likely in reference to his stature.[25]
>>
>>739003525
There's proposals for the Companions as a side thing, but nobody is working on them, they're going to have much less focus/quests than the Fighter's Guild, and as of current implementation they're a non-joinable faction.
>>
>>739003593
What a bummer. It’s also a shame that the diverse clans are not joinable either.
>>
>>739003412

Keep your green/fatigue meter full, that affects the accuracy of your attacks, then google the boots of blinding speed and how/where to get potions that can give you magic resistance and just speedrun your way to doing that quest or killing her for them. Use the magic res potions repeatedly til you stack up to 100% magic res, you only need to have it all active for a few seconds, and then equip the boots in that time frame. Alternatively just cheat yourself in the 200 speed if you don't care about that kind of shit or are already mostly fed up. People will defend the walking speed but if that's the one thing gatekeeping you from the rest of the game then there's no shame in either beelining for the boots, if you wanna keep things technically legit, or busting out the console. When you get past the molasses that is starting out in Morrowind is when it clicks, but that will still ultimately be up to you. Props for even bothering to try and good luck.

PTR's going a different way with their Argonians where the different breeds aren't even the same species, they're different animals (lizards, snakes, frogs, turtles, birds) that all got uplifted by the Hist. I guess that's because most TR expansions only/mostly update new map cells, but poison song is going to overhaul a bunch old map cells, so you'd probably have to find a way to reset any cells you've already visited, if you have already visited any of the areas that are going to be updated. Otherwise they won't update, or be left like half broken.

Ordinators are Temple-affiliated, they're not allowed to keep Outlanders out because central Temple authority isn't trying to keep Outlanders out, because they feel obligated to try and counter Imperial Cult influence. Your in with Indoril, on the other hand, is specifically a guy who is trying to reform his House to stop their active freefall and death, which is why he's open to the desperate measure of inducting an Outlander. Actually I take it back, there's also a woman who tells you she fell for a handsome thief who stole from her. She tells you she'll hook you up with her hot friend if you help her deliver a lover letter to said thief
Once you do that, she gives you the lady's address, only to show up there and get friend-zoned by an ugly redhead.
No companions either. The path of the Nerevarine is a lonely one.

I would have loved for my Nerevarine to be as much of a chad as the guy he incarnates, but even Almalexia didn't put out as a way to further manipulate him. Couldn't even get lucky in that hooker joint in Suran either.
I would if I could.
Next best thing I could do using a mod was to buy that Altmer slave in Tel Aruhn, keep her around the house and headcannon that he frequently bones her thinking of Almalexia

Nerevar had 6 companions: Almalexia, Vehk, Sotha Sil, Alandro Sul, Dagoth Ur, and Dumac Dwarf-Orc, and he was fucking 3 of them, implied to be Almalexia, Dagoth Ur, and Dumac. The funny part is that he was NOT fucking the one who wanted to fuck him the most of all, Vehk, now named Vivec.

Vivec claims iirc in his Trial that all the godly events happened in an alternate reality created by his ascension and the dragon break shifted things in this reality just enough to justify his godhood, which left remnants of that alt reality in this one. That's why he's Vehk-and-Vehk, Vivec. But of course this is also terminal liar supreme and he claims in the same text the only reason we got to learn the real story of Red Mountain is because he wants Nerevar to decide if he's really the Vivec to blame for killing him or the one who never betrayed him, which aka is obviously him still coping about it.

Sadrith Mora is a company town, but the company is run by thousand-year-old magical sociopaths who live inside hollowed-out giant fungi. You get off the boat, and they immediately quarantine you in the Gateway Inn like you're carrying a plague of mediocrity. But if you can bribe your way past the prefects and actually walk among the spore-choked streets, you find a culture that is entirely, unapologetically itself. I sat down with a low-ranking retainer who fed me a plate of blackened ash yams and something called Hound Meat Carpaccio. He spent the entire meal levitating three feet off the ground just to look down his nose at me. Pretty sure that the idea that the Imperials confiscated Khajiit land to punish them for attacking the Bosmer is a PTR original concept. In Oblivion it's just framed as a preexisting territorial dispute the Empire ruled in favor of Leyawiin for no detailed reason (it's actually to briefly acknowledge the fact Cyrodiil stretches a bit further south in Oblivion than it did in older maps), which is why the Khajiit rebel resistance group only exists in lore

I would love that if it was more of a, unlock the building based on deeds. And maybe somewhat limited in where you can place it.
Alternatively Telvanni mushroom tower or just any wizard tower, place it anywhere you please fuck laws. Especially if it gives you a veranda on a higher floor you can enjoy a view from.
Only real issue is can't really create world interactions with it unless there's a way to spawn enemies outside based on a distance rather than exact spawn object?
Stronghold mod I fucked around with I added in raids that happen every couple of weeks, need to actually cause a penalty if you fail/ignore them I guess. Anyway I'd love stuff like that but with bases you could place anywhere.

I agree. I'm dyslexic, so Morrowind's text system made it extremely difficult for me to play the game before. But thanks to AI voice acting, I can now fully enjoy Morrowind with you guys. They have Karthwasten down pretty well though, and that's the real jewel of the conquest, with how beneficial it is for trade and securing the borer. Jehanna is secondary (as a foothold in the western Reach) and Dragonstar is tertiary, important mainly only because of its defensive position on the Skyrim side of the mesas. Elinhir, of course, being a poison pill, since that's the one that's really got the Redguards upset and is in a less defensible position.

Download OpenMW from the site, it comes with an installer, the only thing you need to do is point it where your Morrowind.esm file is.
For Tamriel Rebuilt you also need Tamriel Data so just download them and extract to data files folder of your Morrowind installation (not OpenMW) or the cleaner option of extracting TR and TD to their own folders where you want and in the OpenMW launcher there is a button called "append directories" where you can select where they are and they won't clog up your data files and will be separated for easy uninstallaton (you can do this for any mod in OpenMW btw the ones that come with .esp files just need to be additonally checked to be on in the OpenMW launcher.)
You can also install Province Cyrodiil and Skyrim: Home of the Nords if you want since they also use Tamriel Data.

Choose github and then scroll down and choose the installer for whatever system you use

Play magic on your first playthrough, seriously.
The dice roll nature of the early-mid game is easier to visualize than with melee (you either make sparks or you don't), the versatility of magic makes many of the old mechanics easier to engage with (you can teleport, jump, run, fly, charm, lockpick more easily...) and there's a more tangible feeling of power scaling with new spells, spellcrafting and enchants/alchemy.

>I did that and I was like level 30 by the time I finished up the Fighter's Guild stuff JUST in Bal Foyen and the side quests
Are you abusing trainers or explicitly grinding skills?
I have an old save with a lvl 30 guy, that was a 60h save where I finished the main quest, tribunal and a bunch of other quests In the base game. In another save I did all of vvardenfell+ inner sea Imperial legion quests and then I was just lvl 12 after 20 hours.

I could recommend this mod https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/55264
It slows down progressions a bit and make the leveling less bothersome, where there isn't the same pressure to minmax every level with trainers that I know some players feel.
Here is a quick summary of what it does:
-you need 20 skill up to level up
-minor skills are also counted
-when a skill levels up, it increses the potential of its governing attribute by 0,5
-when you level up you get 15 attribute points to distribute each level
-Increasing an attribute within potential cost 1 point
-Increasing an favored attribute beyond potential cost 2 (I increased this to 3 because I felt 2 was way to cheep)
-Increasing an non-favored attribute beyond potential cost 5
Almost every value in this mod is also customizable, if you don't like the balance of it in one way or another.

Testing it in my current save and I'm only lvl 10 after 30 hours, with 64 quest completed between
vvardenfell, TR and SHOTN. Haven't been to PC yet. Picrel is my current character.

>Dyslexia isn't a thing, you guys are just suffering from zoomer brain
I got diagnose with it when I was around 8/9, long before the current age of screens. This is because my teacher noticed I read slow as fuck, but had above average reading comprehension and memory. I'm also generally skeptical toward people who get diagnosed with "dyslexia" beyond childhood, as the signs of it should be pretty visible by the time you actually starts reading a lot and you have to have a really shit teacher for them to notice it.
I also have a distain for people who use any minor disability they as an excuse as an excuse to whine or not do something. I just enjoy when there is a fitting tool/options/mod that helps with it.
If someone has dyslexia and the reading in Morrowind is stopping them from playing the game, then they are most likely suffering from leant helplessness and/or laziness.

>focus on anything for more than 5 seconds
I think your confusing dyslexia with ADHD.

I compared them side by side and the islands, especially the main one, are actually only about 60% of the size of the ones on the original map. Supposedly the justification for it is that having the slums under the bridges and in canals/tunnels and a bunch of middle class and shops on the bridges makes it bigger than it looks, but it did shrink. I don't mind them giving the islands and bridges individual names, the characterization for them so far is fairly good, though obviously will need more detail for particular major facilities like the university etc.

That's because Vivec is canonically a hermaphrodite who took it up his hermaphrodite vagina and is, at least in theory, just as much of a woman as he is a man
This confusion could have been avoided if Kirkbride personally requested the Morrowind modelers to give him titties or something but alas that didn't happen
>>
>>739036560
The biggest concern is that, if Ai voices get cracked down on, the mod will be put in the crossfires. And it's putting something controversial in a massive mod project. Having it as a secondary thing for other people to use is for the best.

>>739060215
There are some Redoran things to check out, specifically with the Water's March. And Redoran is in the foreseeable future, Dres will be the last house quests done.
>>
>>739060460
I've always gotten the vibe that Vivec tries to present himself primarily as a man anyway, out of trauma or because his dad beat him and forced him to identify as male or because he thinks it makes him seem stronger and more authoritative. So if he had any titties as a mortal he zapped them away as a god.
>>
>>739060460
Kirkbride was a proper 90's nerd in that he put that in because it's fun, and had Vivec largely present and be referred to as a man 90% of the time and only pull out the female aspect for wacky fetish shenanigans
I'm sure he now has the same nu-liberal remorse as most of his generation, especially given that period where he started taking neopronouns seriously
>>
>>739061275
>Oi roight propa 90's nerd innit
Weirdo. Anyway he had Vivec turn into a woman so he could be Nerevar's wife in c0da.
>>
Talking about weird sex stuff, the one really moddy part of PTR that really makes its in-game lore and text stand out is how viciously asexual it is. They are extremely scared of sexuality in any form despite modding for the game Kirkbride put all his weird fetishes into the books of and that inherited the books written by a lady where the Dunmer queen takes cat dick.
>>
>>739061556
It's for the best, it's better that that can of worms won't be opened.
>>
>>739058451
>Well when you have shitty parents that refuse to admit there's a problem with their kid
I've seen that happen to a kid and it ends up just fucking him harder and ended up with him being forced to switch to a special kids school, just because he had unattended anger issues that her mom wouldn't acknowledge. I really fill pity for people with narcissist parents that cares more about their own ego then what is in the best interest of their child.

The reason I'm personally sceptic to late diagnoses is because I've meet and heard about multiple people who faked it to get diagnosis, as in my country (Norway) you are able to get around 4k dollars every years for free if you have dyslexia and are enrolled in a collage or university while not working besides the studies.

>>739059885
>>739060215
>Redoran content
There was like the 10 new redoran quests added in the most recent update along side two small readoran towns that are in the middle of hlaalu territory. It probably good (haven't play it myself), but there isn't enough content to justify an entire character to just TR redoran stuff. The best way to experience it but to do them while joining some factions factions with more content as well.
>Telvanni Content
There is a decent amount, but its old and a bit dated. It will be reworked within 5-10 years I would guess. If you want to see the quest could just go to any of the quest giver in picrel and see what it is about.
>>
>>739061721
Eh, I feel that if your purpose is worldbuilding for any media intended to have an adult audience you need to engage with sexuality on some level. You don't need to be pornographic but you need to treat it maturely.
>>
>>739061556
>>739061721
>>739061807
Unless they had Kirkbride or some other really professional writer do it, do you REALLY want to run the risk of that kind of content getting added in this day and age? It'd result in a ton of gay sex (in the gay way not the esoteric enlightened way)

Besides, you got the Temple of Dibella, various sexy Daedra designs (as much as the art style and 3D models of Morrowind allows) and the idea of making female Wood Elves monstrous like their male counterparts got shot down.
>>
>>739061807
I just don't think the average nerd can contain himself not to add some horrendous fetish shit that only appeals to him. And if one guy does it the rest will follow.

>How does it work?
There is a form you and your doctor have to fill out. This usually would require the doctor to know that you have a formal diagnoses. Then you send it the government's student loan body and you get a monthly bank deposit. This can only be done while studying, not working and not living at home. You can't live like that forever, but it's a pretty nice deal as you can save up a decent amount of money while studding which is nice. Tuition are free here and student loans are mostly to cover living expenses. They also have really low interest rates and half of it is wiped if you finish your studies and don't drop out.

Poor form. They should be wearing Nordic poop armor.
>>
>>739063121
I mean in Legends House Dres lives in wooden Viking cottages apparently so i guess it makes sense
>>
>>739063675
I feel like the turd armor is a product of that phase Kirkbride was having during Morrowind's development where he wanted to treat the Nords as a joke race to humiliate and shit on. He went back on that later when he was doing the Aldunagga and other stuff to make the Nords cool and interesting but there was a period where it was all just "They're retarded and get tricked easily and run around naked and wear shit and and..." that was simply baffling.
>>
>>739063787
Incredible how that's literally just blue volkihar
>>
I don't give a fuck about helping the Reachmen but I would help the Riverfolk seize northern Hammerfell.
>>
What even are Riverfolk? Never even heard of them in any of the main games.
>>
>>739064886
They're mentioned in PGE1. They're nomadic tribes of people living along the Bjoulsae River, traveling and trading with big riverboat houses or alongside the river using horses and nomadic camps. In PTR lore they're descended partially from the same Nedic substrate as local Bretons, and partially from the local Nedes of Hammerfell that the Redguards genocided on their way in. Unlike the Reachmen they don't really engage in the same grievance counting, retributive raiding, or cycles of receiving oppression/abuse then dishing it out towards their neighbors, they just kinda live there and trade up and down the river while doing merc work.
>>
>>739065403
Since you're usually treated as an outsider in these games these guys would be pretty fitting as a playable race.
>>
>>739054765
>before PT can start on Akavir it needs to do all of the ocean between it and Tamriel first
>>
>>739065568
There's a mod to do the islands between Tamriel and Akavir, by the time you get to Esrionet, the easternmost islands, you're basically right next door to Akavir. Not that anyone has plans to actually do Akavir before 2060.
>>
>>739065557
They're already in Tamriel Data iirc so you just need the mod to play them. I always felt that these Riverfolk, the Reachmen (except their OP racial powers,) and all the humanoid Khajiit should be playable by default but eh. Like there's clearly a difference between these guys and stuff like Ogres and Giants which clearly don't fit as a playable race.
>>
>>739065820
Maormer would be cool too I like those guys. Their TR faces are horrifying though.
>>
>>739065917
TR tends to lean too far in the direction of the ugly vanilla faces over the more decent ones with their custom ones desu. Like holy shit Reachmen are turbo ugly too.

They're also deleting that horse quest and everything dealing with Tarhiel. OE is basically being completely stripped down and gutted.
>>

I'm ok with Tarhiel being replaced (being OE's court wizard didn't fit his character imo) but the horse deserves to stay
>>

I just kinda dislike Tarhiel's replacement because it's tied in with the new Indoril lord who is part of that whole "making House Mora not actually in charge of Ebonheart but actually only in charge of some random fishing village in the middle of nowhere" thing which I find really fucking stupid.

The PT anvil gay couple thing was handled very well because it was just some guys wanting to meet up. I do not want to hear about furry, tranny, rape, and how far they'll try and push it. You have a look on any modern morrowind forum and they already push their weird men with breasts shit.

I don't think they have a clear vision of what they want holds beyond Markarth Side, Falkreath, Solitude, and Dawnstar to look like. Markarth Side is what you're looking at right now. Falkreath is going to be heavily influenced by Colovians, so more mercantile highland lords. Solitude is going to be partially inspired by Varangians and the Rurikids, though heavily modernized and Imperialized. Dawnstar is classic straight out vikings.

>>
>>739085448
>Kirkbride writes stuff while high
That's a myth tho. The weirdness of his writings mostly come from the fact he studied religion in college or something and thus was familiar with the fact that actual mythology tends to involve bizarre goofy shit way more than the kind of thing modern fantasy has
>>
>>739085448
>and also to shove their agenda
That's also true for Kikebride but you choose to ignore that and cover it up by giving him the only personality of the wacky drug addict.
>>
>>739085584
I don't feel like I need to address someone seriously when he sabotages his point by seething about groups he personally doesn't like. "People will put their fetishes in it instead of treating things maturely for the same of setting building" is a fine enough point on its own. "Waah I hate trannies, furries, and any depiction of rape the most!" sabotages his point because it makes it feel like a personal problem, and is just begging me to point out already canonical depictions of those things in the setting. The actual issue is NOT someone fucking a Khajiit, changing sex, or getting raped, it's when it's included solely as a fetish (solely, because a lot of this stuff did get included because the writer likes it, but they handled it with two hands) rather than handled as a maturely and well-integrated aspect of the lore, myth, or setting.
>>
>>739026371
I might be only seeing surface aesthetics but that's why I'll never understand how Azura/Almalexia aren't the paired anticipation, as she even keeps the whole "loving mother who demands your worship and has a BPD breakdown when you don't do whatever ridiculous shit she dreamed up and it means you disrespected her/hate her"

Then again Sotha Sil doesn't really play into Boetiah's sphere, Vivec is definitely paired up correctly with Mephala though

I suppose the obvious answer is that the "Anticipations" are just some bullshit the Tribunal made up
>>
>>739085824
Pretty much. The issue has always been less about the content and more about the implementation. And not trusting the people doing the creating to handle the subject matter well.

For example, I think a Mario movie could work in theory. I would nit want Illumination to make one because I think they'd do a bad job at it.

My PTR lore is a little rusty, but isn't House Mora basically dead as of the Third Era?

>>739078471
By all accounts Almalexia was the most charitable and compassionate tribune before losing her marbles (Mournhold residents note her weird behavior.) It's easy to paint her as a one-dimensional megalomaniac from how she acts in Tribunal and ESO but we don't talk about that but that doesn't erase the thousands of years she spent in service to her people. PTR does a better job of portraying these aspects since you can see evidence of some of her feats.

>isn't House Mora basically dead as of the Third Era?
Yeah but they shuffled Ebonheart to some random family called Khalaan or something, while Mora ruled this random island out east in what was formerly just an extension of the Thirr river, and only had authority over some fishing villages.

Tell that to the false incarnates
>>
>>739085518
There's two kinds of "difficult" combat encounters in Morrowind. First is enemies simply taking a lot of hits to kill, which only amounts to time wasted. Second is suddenly being in way over your head in which case you flee, trivialize it with an exploit (or an intended game mechanic that might as well be an exploit) or simply die before you even realize the seriousness of the situation.

Neither of those is interesting or engaging. If you want good action you want some other game.
>>
>>739086741
They were false, senpai. To be serious, Morrowind is set up to make it purposefully vague whether you Mantled Nerevar or are Nerevar Incarnate, Kirkbride himself was in the later camp, but metaphysically it doesn't actually matter. Once you walk like them to make them walk like you, you two are the same person even if you weren't before, and if you're a reincarnation you obviously always were. The point is though, the Tribunal DID solely kill Nerevar for power, all his friends betrayed him except Alandro Sul in the end, I'm not sure how you can treat it like Azura is in the wrong for being upset about it even if you think the Tribunal did greater good in the end. The only way you can say she's in the wrong is if you're of the school that the Tribunal were in on it and killed Nerevar so he'd reincarnate as the Nerevarine and achieve multiple Walking Ways and gain the great power of infinite forms, but even then that would mean SHE was in on it too, and thus was never actually at odds with the Tribunal, but they were collaboratively building a narrative for the exultation of Nerevar.

>objectively evil
You can't claim objective morality for a culture that teaches scheming, deception and murder are "good."
And it's entirely in-character for a Daedric prince to strike out when personally offended. When Azura cursed the Dunmer it likely wasn't because ALMSIVI murdered someone, but rather because that someone was HER champion. Her baby. Does that excuse the Tribunal's crimes? No, but the fact that she punished a race for their transgressions can be taken as proof of abject pettiness.
>>
>>739090118
It's not petty to punish someone for killing someone YOU care about, anon. You might not characterize it as 'pure and objectively godly', but it is EXTREMELY human and nobody would claim you're evil or wrong for feeling such a way.
