yeah, i was part of it. played through about 1/5 of the remake. i definitely remembered the game being a lot more fun than it is. smrpg still holds up though -- i 100%'d that remake

Nobody wanted them to remake it, they just assumed the characters and setting would get Miyamoto'd and celebrated too quickly when the reveal trailer showed that they did the bare minimum to look like they gave a damn.
