Obsidian fundamentally do not understand why people play video games, and this is why they have never been able to produce a decent game that wasn't just a glorified DLC for a game better developers made for them (Kotor II, New Vegas).

There are tons of objective gameplay reasons to go to DM. Even if you want to define it in the extremely narrow sense of "thing you get upon returning to the main game," it still has that in Father Elijah's robes

Light Step perk is the main reason use anything other than Power Armor

Objectively HH gives you the least rewards, but even it has a few things worth mentioning

Every item from the Vending Machines in infinite quantity if you break the bank at the Sierra Madre/learn how to make chips from Christine
All the armor and weapons from Dead Money are unique
A buff to Veronica or a buff to your own melee crits
A unique craftable consumable from Dean

The only bad part of Dead Money's additions is In Shining Armor being broken and needing YUP to fix it and Junk Rounds being one of the worst things ever invented.

You can just take some of the gold. It's not all or nothing. And if you minmax it, you can get infinite stimpacks from the vending machine after you beat it.
