Cole's powers create interesting ideas for movement opportunities, but a lot of the game seemed to be about hindering actually making use of those abilities, and moreso forcing you into the easiest OTS game of all time where you have borderline infinite ammo, with melee combat being a bit of a joke.The story was neat but that's really it. Boss fights sucked and the open world was vapid. The side missions didn't really feel all that meaty or interesting to engage with, didn't even give you a cool bonus for 100%ing it like the Sly games would (if I recall, maybe I forgot something, it has been years). inFamous 2 is definitely a step-up, though at the cost of toning down a lot of the first game's griminess and edge. Better combat systems, traversal becomes paramount in the endgame, side missions can have more depth (a lot still suck), and there's no "One last blast shard" moments thankfully, since once you get 50% or so you can buy a radar. But a lot of the main scenario, like 1, feels like filler.Second Son fixes the filler issue to an extent, but it also plays like shit, is piss easy, has a completely unlikable main character, and I question the point of an open world when all the discoverable things are labelled on the map, and I'm not even sure if the game had side missions at all. The game actually is a superhero game where you feel like an absolute God. Not to mention, you can also play as a very sneaky, quiet, and subtle ninja agent who goes through entire military bases and battlefields completely unnoticed if you want to. In Infamous, you can only play as a 7th gen shooter man who fries everything in his path.

I think an inFAMOUS remake would be the final nail. Proving creativity is dead beyond doubt.I really like the series, played all of them, 2 and Carnival of Blood are my favorites. But they have never been special from a design standpoint, literally nothing about them stands out as being unique either then or now. Remaking a game like that would be beyond stupid. Just make a new one and try to actually improve on the game design.
