There are some things unrelated to that he should've done by now, like gotten married, but he fits in well for the stories he's in. Ichiban seems to want to be in a Zelda game and all of the crime drama stuff only gets in the way for him. You constantly feel like the game they're making and the game they wanted to make are at odds with each other.

Ichiban is so up his own ass with his fucking goody 2 shoes schtick. Even worse than kiryu. In both 7 and 8 he had this whole ending scene where he totally forgives the 100% evil guy because he is just that goodhearted and kind. And unlike Kiryu he doesn't have any scenes where he shows a bit of bite. The closest he got was in 7 but he looked more like a petulant little bitch.
