Were these lines really necessary? How do you even begin to respond to this?

>>739016465nah, tales of abyss is kinda like steel alchemist, your party going around, and party of main villain just going around and doing theyr evil shit, but you kinda not fighting all the timeso this is some laboratory office where main hero casually meets main villain, and villain is kinda like "fuck you begone im doing deeds"
>>739016465Redhead boy is a spoiled retard brat that ruined everything for everyone.
>>739016740Look man he's not THAT BAD for a 7 year old.
>>739016831That's a bullshit argument and you know it.
>>739016914why
>>739014612Van is incredibly /fa/
>>739016740>I'll totally allow my ignorant cousin unmonitored access to the moustache man who wants to take him away after a prior incident of kidnapping him and turned him into a retard who couldn't walk or talkShe deserved to hang for the fuckup as well, and don't forget Jade too, because well fuck him.
I've just watched the fight between him and Asch. I forgot the theme played during it https://youtu.be/2t0RbwghoTM
>>739017425Sex with Natalia.
>>739014612>dreckthis means dirt in german
best boy
>>739016465Ignore these>>739016740>>739016607Retards Basically the red hair guy is a clone of a noble's son, who got kidnapped and replaced with the clone. Mentally he's like a toddler. He's also the living equivalent of a hydrogen bomb. Highly unstable with massive destructive powers. His entire party is aware of this btw, and they still constantly treat him like shit and berate him for acting like a toddler sometimes, which he factually ISThen the ponytail guy in the pic, who is his combat instructor, and the only person who treated him nicely is like "hey, you wanna come with me and become a hero", so he does. But oh no, he was actually a bad guy, and triggers the red hairs power, causing an entire city to sink into the abyss.Red hair understandly has a meltdown, and then there comes his dipshit party to dogpile on him, despite this being their fault. They could've prevented this by being honest with him, but they put all the blame on him anyway, which is absurd.ALL OF THEM KNEW ABOUT HIS POWER BUT THEY NEVER DEIGNED TO WARN HIM ABOUT IT. THEIR CONSTANT INSULTS DROVE HIM TOWARDS THE VILLAIN.absolutely absurd writing
>>739020249Sounds very japanese, a lot of animes/manga I see that i dislike are similar about this kind of thing.
I started it on 3DS. What can I expect?
>>739020249you don't get it anon, ginger BRAT correction was required. yes he was tricked and betrayed by the only person who respected him and his existence ripped under him and everyone blamed the gun and not the gunman and left him... but did you see how unruly that hair was?
>>739020917a fun game
>>739016465The world in Tales of the abyss is governed by a mystical force called the “Score” wherein the whole history of the world is already written(like a musical score), so everyone is more or less locked into destiny, but also the rulers are actively trying to follow it because it foretells that if they follow the score then their Kingdoms will enter a golden age of prosperity.Of the events that has to happen however is that the noble’s son that the MC is a clone of is supposed to blow up this town with his powers, and die during it, causing a war. However, it’s discovered that there is a way to clone people and the clones aren’t controlled by the score, so the villain creates the MC as a clone to save the noble’s son(who is his trusted lieutenant). So the MC was supposed to die in his place to fulfill the score but managed to survive
20 years later, Abyss is still the best thing Tales has to offer.
>>739021586Now that sounds like an interesting tale.
>>739021105>everyone blamed the gun and not the gunman>people STILL to this day think it was about blaming himLuke, you retard, i can't even talk to you about this right now.
>>739016465child soldier suicide bomber survived his mission and the guy who sent him on it is butthurt about that despite the city getting blown up successfully.
>>739020249As far as I recall nobody on his party knew anything until it was too late. Also he was a thoroughly unlikeable asshole up until the point where he destroyed the town so understandably nobody was very inclined to be nice to him.
>>739023439i forget, didn't Jade and Guy both know he was a replica?
>>739022858Sure, if you want to fall asleep.
>>739023523Yes, Guy especially did and admitted that he secretly hated him the entire he he pretended to be his friend
>>739023523Jade basically knew everything from the first time he saw Asch on the Tartarus. I think Guy had a hunch Luke wasn't the same person before the kidnapping. Jade was the most culpable since he had to connect something fucky was going on with the replicas and the score with Van involved.
>>739023772could've sworn Guy was actually involved in the kidnapping and was originally on Van's team. been a while since i played it though and can't fully remember what Guy's deal was outside of the whole dead sister trauma thing.
>>739023523I don't remember but honestly it doesn't matter, if they don't reveal it it's just to keep the player in the dark, but story wise it changes nothing since Luke explicitly distrusted them and thought they were lying to keep him away from his mentor, they could've laid the entire thing in front of him and it would've changed nothing.
>>739016914They don't come with the memories. though. They're effectively newborns in grown bodies.
>>739023838I think Guy wanted to get his revenge because he thought he was the original Luke, but changed after realizing he wasn't the same person and a replica. I don't think he was involved in the replica plan or that would've answered a lot of early questions
They should all burn. Luke should have razed the planet to ASCH.
>>739023523Jade knew since he was part of the whole replica creation, Guy didn't knew outright but figured out he was a different person from the REAL Luke which iirc is why he never killed him
>>739017425i would say something about her being happy her future husbando was made retarded by said moustache man because she's a weirdo, but then she immediately chases after asch after finding out about him so...
>>739020249They weren't (necessarily) angry at him because he did it, they were angry at him because he immediately launched into excuses while fishing around for pity. Only Jade, Guy, and I think Tear knew he was a clone/functionally a 7 year old, but given what just happened and his reaction, they would still be mad at him.
>>739023924I mean it's just japanese mumbojumbo scifi so they probably didn't think too hard about it, but if we try to make it coherent then some things had to carry over, otherwise it's impossible to go from literal newborn to walking talking convincingly eloquent and assertive person in such a short amount of time.
Not my fault btw
My fault btw
>>739024357young replicant hands typed this
>>739020249imagine you have a kid who is functionally a ballistic missile, and you're aware this is the case but he's enough of a tard you don't really need to worry about it - he's an annoying shithead, but you can suffer through itthen he goes and runs off with a guy who knows how to use him as a missile - you feel dumb for letting that happen, right? that's how the knowers in the party (but especially jade) feel about itthen, once you recover said kid, he starts bitching about how it's not HIS fault, and you should all understand that, and continues to act like a brat even as he's confronted with the results of HIS actions (because he did do it, he may have been tricked but he did still do it himself)frankly if that all happened and you were like "aww poor little shit, it's okay i forgive you" it'd be on you if he continues to act up afterwardsit was perfectly reasonable to leave him down there while the adults at least tried to solve the issue that they're fully aware is partly on them
>>739024487>and continues to act like a brat even as he's confronted with the results of HIS actions (because he did do it, he may have been tricked but he did still do it himself)this is wrong though, he literally didn't do it. Van had to use his mind control backup command because Luke refused to do it. (great idea inventing that one Jade).
>>739024487my read on it is Luke actually feels guilty as shit and is in DENIAL after the party laid out what happens (this is actually backed by his behaviour and actions afterwards). it's honestly a perfectly human reaction, especially given his regarded master betrays him. the only reason it gets a pass is how much of an off-character asshole they made him to the even prior. Luke shows a lot of promise in Engeve and Cheagle Woods, only to completely reverse all development and divebomb into the negative after the Van/Akzeriuth spiel. it's a bit of writing I wish they could've handled better, I actually enjoyed pre-Akzeriuth Luke a lot, and had the party turned heel at this character they would've been the fucking assholes.
>>739023523>>739020249Jade pieced most of it together by the time he met Asche but he didn't know crucial details like the actual purpose for cloning Asche until Tear read the score. He's also a psychopathic asshole so he wouldn't show much sympathy even if he did. Guy didn't know and thought Luke simply lost his memories and Guy eventually became friends with him after taking care of him. Tear knew Vann was plotting something heinous and was willing to kill him to stop it, but she didn't know the specifics like Luke's sole purpose being a ticking time bomb. If she did she'd probably assassinate him the moment they met. The Brat was a spy but all she did was relay info and was probably kept in the dark. The only other person in the party who could have known was Ion given his circumstances.
>>739024891the important thing to note is, aside from Tear none of the party members are actually painted as being in the right for how they reacted to Luke. They all get fed up with him and lash out back at him, but you aren't expected to side with the party members here, they are being immature assholes too, and they generally do realize it later whether they admit it (Guy) or not (Jade).
>>739024891>only to completely reverse all development and divebomb into the negativebeing called an 'ambassador' is like telling a kid he's the hall monitor now, it's less of a reversal in development and more like him going full "look guys i'm the COOLEST and BESTEST boy ever!! you've all got to listen to ME now!!!!"it's very much in line with the whole 'actually just an 7 year old developmental-wise' thing
>>739017692based
>>739020249You're a fucking retard, speedreader-kun. You'll still be seething 20 years from now and Abyss will still be a 10/10 videogame.
>>739025028was Guy the only party member that apologizes? I forgot>>739025162don't forget getting frustrated about everyone leaving him in the dark about his replica status (Jade). but moments like calling the miners dirty and telling Natalia to get away was inconsistent with his good hearted character
>>739025028Furthermore, they're really not much better. Jade's the whole reason any of that is happening, Guy had 7 years of living alongside Luke to better influence him, Anise is a mole, and Natalie's barely even a character.
>>739023642Guy didn't know you fucking idiot.
man this game was so fucking long. I couldn't believe it. I played it on modded ps2 ages ago, and yeah, it was fun, but I remember it slogging along at some points, and all the damn back-tracking was ridiculous.
>>739025415speedup makes it a little less annoying, but honestly my main issue with team symphonia will always be 'haha hope you remembered to go back to this random town during this 3 minute segment between cutscenes because you're not getting this shit otherwise fuck you'
>>739025369Natalia eavesdropped on Luke and Van's conversation and found out he was the kidnapper AND wants to take him away again to another town. I argue she has enough info to know not to let him alone with Van but allows him to anyways
>>739022858I don't like how easily-missed a lot of sidequests are like you need a guide to remind you that hey, you need to backtrack to X location now before you move the story forward even one bit or you'll permanently miss this quest or even just part of progression in a quest. Hopefully if they ever do a remaster they'll fix that shit.
>>739025369Natalia helped to stop the war and to anchor Asche as an ally. Anise's parents were being held hostage and she's the one taking care of the next clone of Ion after she got the last one killed even Ion was willing read the score just so Anise and/or the party could hear it
>>739025369>Anise is a moleAn unwilling one, people tend to forget.
>>739025369Guy could only do so much with Luke's parent's spoiling him to death after he got "kidnapped"
