dark souls township pvp was very fun, gravelording ppl too
couldnt be bothered to pvp in any other title though, ds2 was magic spam galore and in ds3 the kids rolling 20x into enemies to drink kinda took the flavour of old-school pvp away
hit a guy once, lie on the ground and wait for him to finish drinking or trying to bait you into mobs was the most boring shit ive ever done

idk bro, ive played on release and the only people ive ever pvpd with only ran away from me and spammed magic, usually some aoe beam or projectiles
game was shit as melee user anyway, magic was absolutely overpowered and boring as fuck
maybe later patches reigned it in a bit, but man it wasnt fun
especially losing 5% durability by hitting a wall once with the swing you hit a mob with cause the game was coded for 30fps consoles and 60fps on pc meant youd have to have five weapons to use between two bonfires
