It's what it says>Be tired gamer for 16 years>Barely play anything ever, maybe 1-2 games a year>Read constantly about games and news and get excited for certain releases>Never play them, too overwhelming to start and too disappointing to realize I've stopped in the middleThere are probably a lot of factors to this, but I wanna feel good about playing games again, and I think part of the solution is to take it easy and not worry when I play, especially since I'm so burned out that anything that has a mental load (ie. logic puzzles) feels beyond me right now. I tried playing Return of the Obra Dinn and it's fine, but it's not what I need right now.>Not too long like some massive AAA game>Not live service/multiplayer>Not open-ended>Not mentally intense>Not JapaneseJust a single-player game of reasonable length that isn't Cozy Fireplace Farming Simulator 2027: Sleepy Edition or I Wanna Be the Dark Death Blood Hollow Borne Souls Knight: Bowel Voiding of the Year Edition. I'm looking to come back with a game I don't need to have huge emotional investment in.I also welcome stories from people who managed to recover that bit of joy in their life and how they did it.

>Do one and literally only one thing for years, possibly decades, on end>Abloo, why am I so bored that it makes me sad?It is a mystery.Take a break. That's it. For 2 months pretend vidya doesn't exist. That includes not immersing yourself in everything video games so that means get off 4chan, srop warching streams, don't watch video game shit on youtube. Just do literally anything else. Two months is no time at all and it will rekindle a burning passion for vidya. Just take a break. It's that simple.
>>739023557That's not why I'm burned out, trust me on this, but I'm trying not to blogpost.Anyway, Obra Dinn is a really interesting idea for a game, but there's a lot of back and fourth and keeping track of information and looking for tiny details that it's just a bit too much right now. Maybe a platformer or hell, even a rhythm game or something relatively low stress and satisfying to play. Did anyone have a game that helped them come back?
