Yeah mostly because of esports cafés and streamers desu. Apex, Valorant, FF14, all that blew up and suddenly kids wanted decent rigs. Steam JP actually pushing localized indies helped too.

It’s still way more laptops and prebuilts than giga custom towers though. Space is at a premium and console culture was entrenched for decades. It’s growing, just not in the same “basement battlestation” way as the west.
