Sony loses another oneThe sequel to Stellar Blade will not be published by PlayStation, developer Shift Up has confirmed — something that could point to a multiplatform launch for the forthcoming game.Instead, Korean company Shift Up will take on publishing duties itself for Stellar Blade 2, or whatever the game ends up being called. In an earnings relase, Shift Up said this move would help ensure its franchise's "unique appeal" was communicated to players "more directly and effectively."The first Stellar Blade launched as a PlayStation 5 console exclusive in April 2024, with a PC port then launching just over a year later in June 2025. Its arrival was received positively on both platforms, with players saying its gameplay mixed elements of NieR: Automata and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.Despite fan expectation of further Stellar Blade ports — particularly for Switch or Switch 2 — nothing has yet been confirmed by Shift Up. However, as part of the same earnings presentation, Shift Up said it was "actively exploring further platform expansion" for the first game. No launch window for the sequel has yet been set.
