The one that I see popping up in recent years is the Leper king guy. Darkest Dungeon had the Leper class, and then fucking Elden Ring had some imageries akin to the King Baldwin's appearance. The past couple years it's suddenly everywhere in fucking Insta, TikTok, Shorts etc. IDK if it's a religion thing or people just big upping it up just coz of the aesthetics and muh aura farming shit.

Or visiting the Church to calm your nerves (after having read the King in Yellow), when you notice that the organ music strange, abrasive and erratic and when you've about had enough of it and look for the organist, you see a strange pale man at the organ who is *looking right at you* with an expression of utter hatred upon his face. Or you're an artist in your studio, creating a portrait of your model when you notice that the color of your paint is off, and the more you try to fix it, the worse it becomes until you realize that the model in your portrait looks like a corpse, and your model comes over to you and incredulously asks if she really looks like that, to which you respond that there's something wrong with your paint... when you both notice a strange man in the church yard outside of your window apparently looking at you. So on and so forth.
