Both of them being much stronger than the PS2 and coming with 4 controller ports was big, not to mention the Xbox coming out of the gate with stuff like Ethernet and a Hard Drive as well. Every console having games is a gimme, so it's worth noting stuff like that. Not to mention it lead to a lot of superior versions of games being anywhere but the PS2.In the case of the Dreamcast, its nature as a console is worth noting because it's what damns it, being a fucked up early jump forward that embodied all the benefits over the PS1 and N64 that a release in 1998 would entail, and all the weaknesses compared to the true 6th Gen consoles that a release in 1998 would entail. The perception is also fueled by Sega fags being desperate for ANYTHING to validate its existence, so they try to say it was actually 6th Gen as well and just ahead of the curve, all because of that 8MB vRAM
